How did you think he should get to know how his team-mates play, get to know our system and get match fit? Wouldn't playing a match help? Reed hasn't exactly played a lot for the 1st team either and Davis often plays in an attacking midfield role and may do again on Thursday.

Why does the alternative to playing Pelle have to be an identikit version of him? We can play with a different kind of striker or pair of strikers as an alternative. Last season without Pelle we used Mane and Long as a striker pairing away at Chelsea and it worked well. We now have Juanmi and Rodriguez as other options.
