  1. Sunderland Echo 2 days ago said Sunderland weren't interested and didn't make a bid... http://www.sunderlandecho.com/sport/sunderland-afc/video-sunderland-not-interested-in-georginio-wijnaldum-but-have-other-dutch-transfer-targets-1-7323782
  2. Read it in context of his entire post, in the 2nd paragraph he says Davis, Reed and Ward-Prowse are all small... but so is Gueye. I don't think Clasie's size really matters, he is very good at winning the ball.
  3. Its pointless to use Wikipedia as a source for football unless you check the citations it uses. The articles can be edited by anyone in the world. I could go on it now and say Imbula has signed for Saints for £60m.
  4. Football years... 2015/16 - pre-season training begun for some clubs 2014/15 - 6th 2013/14 - 2nd
  5. They finished 2nd a mere two years ago.
  6. Is Ronald Koeman worried about Clyne & Schneiderlin leaving? Nah, he is currently playing backgammon on a yacht... #wemarchon
  7. Its not that amazing, pretty much everyone on this forum if put in the same situation would do the same. They are being offered huge pay rises and better chances at international level.
  8. If you were him at Palace in 2012 in the Championship and a Premier League club offered you a big pay rise... what would you have done?
  9. Yep, I did say it was a tiny %. The same thing happened with Gareth Bale going to Real Madrid, even though we didn't have a sell on clause we still got some money.
  10. Saints would get a tiny % of that fee due to FIFA solidarity contribution. At Saints from 8 to 16...
  11. How else could they do it? They have too many qualifying rounds to fit into a short space of time for much notice to be given.
  12. Why are you always so dismissive of the academy?
  13. Have you considered it is possible that he could want to join Saints, but also he'd be interested in joining other clubs as well? Its possible for both to be the case. Also if Spurs have an offer accepted for him and Saints don't, then he can't join us regardless of how much he would like to.
  14. And you'd be a terrible juror... Instant Classic lied and you took his word in order to turn it against me.
  15. Why does anyone ever need to say "IMO"? Who else's opinion could I have thought it was? Last season... Imbula - 37 league games - 2 goals - 2.4 tackles per game - 1.2 interceptions per game - 1.8 fouls per game Schneiderlin - 26 league games - 4 goals - 3.7 tackles per game - 2.6 interceptions per game - 1.8 fouls per game Plus Schneiderlin playing in a stronger league. Don't take this as me not wanting Imbula, I'd actually quite like him. But on a stats basis, Schneiderlin wins.
  16. On what is that based? He is 3 years younger than Schneiderlin and looks to have a lot of potential, but is currently behind Schneiderlin in the pecking order for France.
  17. The link is in the post above.
  18. http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/live/32971963 BBC at 12:21pm...
  19. Before vs After, Liverpool vs Southampton, Ian Ayre vs Les Reed, Brendan Rodgers vs Ronald Koeman...
  20. Here is an indépendant witness... If you edit a post within about 3 minutes of posting, it doesn't leave a note saying an edit has been made.
  21. He did, its a very quick edit.
  22. What do you mean "still"? We've known the debt situation since the accounts were published in March... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/20150330-southampton-financial-results-2013-14-2367070.aspx It is soft debt to the owner and the company made a £33.4m profit. UPDATE: The opening post originally said "still" before a very quick edit left no trace of it
  23. He is liable to go AWOL.
  24. I don't see why you think adding seats to St Mary's would be so much more costly than adding seats to Cardiff's stadium? Many other examples I could use to show adding seats to an existing relatively modern stadium is significantly cheaper than building an entirely new one to the same capacity. - St Mary's cost £32m to build in 1999 to 2001 - 90% of £32m = £28.8m - Cardiff City in the last 2 years added 5,000 seats at a cost of £12m or £2,400 per seat To add 13,000 seats to St Mary's to take it to 45,000 at £2,400 per seat would = £31.2m Very similar! To build a 45,000 seater stadium from scratch on Jackson's Farm would cost significantly more than £28.8m or £31.2m! Out of interest how much do you think the two things would cost...? a) expanding St Mary's to 45,000 b) building a brand new 45,000 stadium
