Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC With almost 14,000 tickets sold, extra blocks will open for tomorrow’s friendly with @bayer04fussball and #SaintsFC fans can buy on the day. Goes to show what sensible friendly ticket prices can do. With a decent walk-up on the day it should be a very healthy crowd.

Daily Star claim Saints have had a £4.5m bid for young Leeds right back Sam Byram turned down... http://www.dailystar.co.uk/sport/football/393431/EXCLUSIVE-Southampton-and-Sunderland-target-Leeds-youngster-Sam-Byram

Reina to Bayern Munich. He is 32 years old later this month, he is 6 years older than Forster and will have significantly larger wages than Forster. That helps explain the price difference. Why do you think we don't need another keeper? Were you confident whenever Davis or Gazzaniga were playing in 2012/13 or 2013/14? Would you be happy for them to play in 2014/15 if Boruc was out injured for two or three months?
-
What form are you suggesting the "respect" should be in? I think you'd find it hard to find a Saints fan that doesn't like him as a character or wasn't happy with his contribution in the Championship promotion season, but in the Premier League he is completely out of his depth.

José Fonte signs new three-year deal with Saints
Matthew Le God replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Are you joking? He is 30 years old, some clubs only offer 1 year deals at a time for people over 30. Handing out a 5 year deal to a 30 year old is pretty much unheard of in World football. -
Twitter isn't a person. It can range from Cork himself, to his agent, his dad, a well informed journalist, an ill-informed journalist, to a random person anywhere in the world. Simply saying "twitter said" is meaningless unless you say who on twitter said it.

Koeman just confirmed we do have an interest in him, so at least we know for sure it isn't merely press speculation.
-
Because no-one as of yet wants to buy or loan him. His wages will put a lot of clubs off. Simply still being at the club doesn't by default mean he is good enough for the level of the club. Tommy Forecast saw out his entire 5 year contract, largely because no-one else wanted him for the wages he'd be missing out on if he left Saints. So he stayed with us. He is a contracted senior professional employee, what is the alternative to him training with the 1st team when he's done noting wrong? Koeman has now stopped putting him in match day squads for friendlies, does that not suggest to you Koeman doesn't want to use him?
-
He has been at the club for 11 years, made his debut last season in the League Cup and has played in preseason for the first team under Koeman.

Thats not true... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/news/article/31032014-financial-results-201213-1455995.aspx#MsTRLmuj0DvAJYc7.99 Staggered transfer payments are commonplace in modern football.

Its the normal press conference before a game as they normally do, the club haven't announced what time it will be yet. It'll be live on youtube. Jim Lucas @Jim_SFCMedia · 18h Busy day, and another one tomorrow. @Koeman1963 to speak to the media in the afternoon – watch live at http://www.youtube.com/southamptonfc . #saintsfc

Its not in the slightest bit "self explanatory". Using the phrase "not good enough" only makes sense if you put some context around it, like SO16_Saint has...
-
Can you put some context on that... "not good enough" for what?

Uh-oh.. Need to look for another GK and CB...
Matthew Le God replied to alpine_saint's topic in The Saints
I didn't say that did I? All this may well delay the deal until after the playoff game in late August, but I still think Forster will be a Saints player by the end of the window regardless of Celtic reaching the group stages or not. -

They reached the Champions League group stages last season which got them millions, yet the still sold Hooper and Wanyama to Premier League clubs before they got there. -
So you don't have anything to justify what you said, so when asked about it you resort to insults. Top stuff.

Why? They didn't last summer when Norwich and Saints came calling. What is different this summer? -
Where is the "clear precedent"? All I've seen so far from people saying its wrong regarding other clubs getting financial punishments is for different offences to what Legia did. So they aren't precedents at all.

Although it may appear harsh as the sub had no influence on the outcome, UEFA have to set a line somewhere or you get grey areas. Legia should have been fully aware the player shouldn't be playing, its their own fault and they brought in on themselves. Bloody idiots! -
By following their own rules that Legia should have been fully aware of?

Celtic had a potential windfall in the summer of 2013, they still sold us Wanyama on 11th July (before the qualifiers).
