  1. My primary school reading material... http://shoot.co.uk/saints-eye-25m-deal-for-duo/
  2. Bertrand hasn't joined Saints to be squad rotation, he will be our first choice left back. If Rojo joins he'll be the Lovren replacement as the left sided centre back.
  3. Nope, if Celtic won 4-1 tonight it would level the tie.
  4. I'm watching the game on that link.
  5. http://www.stream2u.me/watch/40502/3/Uefa-Champions-League-Celtic-vs-Legia-Warsaw.html
  6. An old friend for Gaston Ramirez to play with...
  7. If Rojo joins it won't be to start regularly at left back, he'd be Lovren's replacement as the left sided centre back. Bertrand and Targett are our left backs this season.
  8. Really? Have you actually seen who they've signed? Burnley have signed the following players this summer... Michael Kightly Matt Gilks Marvin Sordell Matthew Taylor Steven Reid Lukas Jutkiewicz Which of them would get into Southampton's starting line-up?
  9. No he didn't.
  10. Simon Peach's article... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2717490/Southampton-exodus-help-club-long-run-says-chairman-Ralph-Krueger.html
  11. You keep conveniently overlooking bits and twisting what Krueger said. Krueger even uses the phrase that the players wanted s "short cut to the Champions League" and has in recent interviews still be speaking of Europe being the aim for Saints. Adam Lallana wasn't going to play Champions League football with Saints in 2014/15, he gets that with Liverpool along with a large pay rise and a better chance of making the England starting line-up.
  12. No, its because some of the most high profile/richest clubs in world football have offered the club huge amounts of money and turned the player's heads with offers of pay rises and a better chance of European/international football.
  13. That sentence is stickier than the time sticky the stick insect got stuck on a sticky bun.
  14. I said "improved international chances" not international chances. I'm of course aware they have been recognised to varying degrees at international level, but playing for a bigger side generally makes it more likely you'll start games for your country. I also didn't say all those factors were weighted equally for all the players, different ones have different pulls to different factors. Can you honestly not see why those factors left some of out better players wanting to leave? You appear to want to discredit Spurs, but they are still a more attractive club than us for players and shouldn't be a surprise to see our players want to join them. Its when we start losing key players to **** teams its the time to worry, not to Man Utd, Arsenal, Spurs and Liverpool.
  15. Its blatantly obvious why, they wanted... - a better chance of European football - improved international chances - huge wage rise - to play for some of the biggest clubs in World football Thats why they left, and thats why people shouldn't use it to attack the club.
  16. Simon Peach @SimonPeach · 3h Spent 30 minutes chatting #SaintsFC with Ralph Krueger in his office today. My interview with the chairman on the @pressassoc wire at 10pm. Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 9m Ralph Krueger believes it would have been an "insane risk" for #SaintsFC to keep a core of disgruntled players this summer Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 8m Krueger: "Contracts should be respected, first of all. You sign contracts and both sides need to respect contracts" #SaintsFC Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 8m Krueger: "There was a situation when there was so much change... & ended up with half of your starters not really committed to being there" Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 7m Krueger: "That is an insane risk for any club and especially a club which was already quite thin [in terms of depth] last year" #SaintsFC Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 7m Krueger: "If a few players are disgruntled or maybe not sure about it, you can swallow that up. You can't have half the team" #SaintsFC Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 6m #SaintsFC have not fined Schneiderlin for his tweet: "We're not the kind of club that right off the bat is going to overreact," Krueger said Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 5m On #SaintsFC's sales, Krueger said: "Every player has gone to an absolutely top club. We've received prices that were above expectations" Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 6m Krueger: "We are now on a building & not in a reducing phase. You shouldn't, as a club, take everything personally & we didn't" #SaintsFC Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 5m Krueger believes this "summer of pain" at #SaintsFC is unlikely to ever be repeated thanks to the club's complete restructuring Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 4m Krueger: "We've completely redefined the Southampton way, completely redefined the values & how we want to get to where we want to get" Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 3m Krueger: "There was no exec board when I arrived. It can't be that if one person gets hit by a bus the club doesn't keep moving forwards" Simon Peach ‏@SimonPeach 1m The rest of my Ralph Krueger interview on the PA wires now. Will post links later Articles based on the meeting with a select few journalists... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2717490/Southampton-exodus-help-club-long-run-says-chairman-Ralph-Krueger.html http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/southampton/11014888/Only-good-times-ahead-says-Southampton-chairman-Ralph-Krueger-despite-93m-sale-of-key-players.html http://www.theguardian.com/football/2014/aug/05/southampton-transfers-finished?CMP=twt_gu
  17. You've misunderstood what he said... by quite a considerable amount!
  18. Its painful listening to the panel, their opinions are questionable, but what grates perhaps more is the clear factual error after factual error from all of them.
  19. Imagine the reaction on this forum if Saints tweeted something like this about a player missing a friendly... Burnley FC @BurnleyOfficial · For those asking, we currently have no news on Danny Ings and we'll bring you an update as soon as we have one. #claretsLIVE
  20. Forster has been at Celtic since 2010 (the first two years on loan), so he played with Wanyama during the 2011/12 and 2012/13 seasons.
  21. How do you know that? BBC journalist and ESPN are reporting a deal for Fraser Forster is close. You appear to be jumping to conclusions on all counts.
  22. Is Taider the only Inter Milan player we are getting in this deal?
  23. Are you not aware that it is a joke/spoof/parody article (which isn't actually funny)?
  24. But from the squad they used to get their points tally last season they've lost... Remy, Cabaye, Debuchy and look like they may lose Ben Arfa.
  25. Can you not apply the same to Liverpool if Lovren and other new signings start for them?
