Ground Share with Bournemouth if they go up?
Matthew Le God replied to Saint IQ's topic in The Saints
No, its our stadium and we can't be forced into another club using it. They'd have 3 months to improve media and medical facilities at the stadium. No need to ground share, it can be done in the summer if you throw enough money at it and there is plenty of that in the Premier League. -
Why? If we are to still have an outside chance of the top four, I think its better one of them goes on a bad run, we don't need to catch them both. A draw is the one thing I think we shouldn't want as they both pull further away, a defeat keeps one of them closer. It then comes down to which one to win... Man Utd have a tougher on paper remaining set of fixtures OR Man City who are a point closer to us and we face on the final day. Hard to decide between the two, as both have merits.

Saints in the first half vs Hull played in a 4-2-3-1 system with S.Davis in a number 10 role, with Schneiderlin and Wanyama alongside each other... K.Davis Clyne Fonte Alderweireld Bertrand Wanyama Schneiderlin Long S.Davis Mane Pelle Saints ended the Hull game in a 4-3-3 system with Schneiderlin sitting deep and Koeman seemed happier about how we played in the second half... K.Davis Alderweireld Fonte Yoshida Bertrand Schneiderlin Ward-Prowse S.Davis Tadic Elia Pelle For the Stoke game Koeman may want to use the second system, with a few changes. From the players on the pitch at the end of the Hull game - Elia, Tadic and Yoshida making way for Long, Mane and Clyne. Ground Share with Bournemouth if they go up?
Matthew Le God replied to Saint IQ's topic in The Saints
They'd have May, June and July to build it. I'm sure the incentive of the Premier League and all that brings is enough to get it done quickly, even if it is only temporary facilities to start with. -
He has never played for Crystal Palace.

They are looking to expand to 18,000... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/30169243 Clubs don't have to move out of their stadium to increase capacity. -
Ground Share with Bournemouth if they go up?
Matthew Le God replied to Saint IQ's topic in The Saints
No, but I think its reasonable to assume the police wouldn't like to manage 20,000+ Bournemouth fans in Southampton 19+ times in a year. Managing 3,000 Bournemouth away fans at St Mary's is one thing, managing a St Mary's and Southampton city centre full of Bournemouth fans on numerous occasions is something very different. Of course its not anywhere near Saints vs Pompey levels of rivalry, but lots of their fans don't like Saints and having them play home games at St Mary's is asking for trouble. -

There is no minimum capacity requirement for the Premier League. Even if there was Bournemouth could do the work over the summer. Plus in any case why would Saints agree to a ground share? - Saints don't need the money - Hampshire police wouldn't like 20,000+ Cherries fans in the city 19+ times a year - It doubles the games on the St Mary's pitch -

A few things with that... 1) Why do you want to sell him? 2) How could Rangers afford the transfer fee? 3) How could Rangers afford his wages? 4) Why would he want to leave Saints to play for Rangers?

Poor taste Bearsy, poor taste. I am Rod Hull and I want my green jelly.

The new 2015 to 2018 TV deal for UEFA competitions means there is a big rise in money for those in the Europa League and the disparity between the Europa League and Champions League is being reduced. http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/news/uefa-announce-increase-prize-money-5434920

We are 1 point behind 6th after 31 games... we are already a "top 6 challenger" with Pelle in the team! Okay, he hasn't scored for a long time, nor assisted many recently but that doesn't mean he isn't contributing. A lot of our play goes through him. After years of decline in the Football League watching dreadful football we've now got an Italian international striker and some turn against him. Fickle lot football fans.
-
I said "benchmark", not match. How much do you think Villa would ask for? The Premier League is a market where Hull's Shane Long cost £12m and we are now a year away from another mega TV deal. Proven Premier League 24 year old strikers will cost a huge amount. Of course I'd like Benteke, but the amount he'd cost would be huge and Saints would be probably better off looking for value abroad.
-
Villa would probably benchmark his price with that of Lukaku's move to Everton. I know he is 3 years older, but Benteke would still require a huge bid to get him.
-
If we did signed him it'll be to play for our under 21's.
-
He is doing something right to be involved with the Italian youth setup despite being born in England and signed to a 3rd tier English club.
-
Born in Chesterfield, with an Italian father he plays for the Italian under 20 side, he'd count as homegrown if he signed for Saints... [video=youtube;ty7B-fTc-nQ]

Ings is leaving at the end of his contract this summer regardless of Burnley staying up or not. Even if QPR stay up that doesn't mean Austin won't be sold.
-
He struggled this season to get game time for both Wigan and Brighton at the bottom of the Championship. They are heading to League One next season.
-
He has never been remotely close to good enough for a team challenging for the top 6 of the Premier League. To get in Southampton's team now you have to be of a decent international level, or at the very least be on the fringes of your national side.
