To be fair, he can take a degree of credit, but it was more than just him. Shaw/Chambers/Reed etc joined the club in roughly 2004 when Rupert Lowe was still at Saints and benefitted from the systems at the academy he was ultimately responsible for.

You seem unaware that it is a collective decision and the Koeman brothers are involved, along with Reed, head scout Mitchell and others. it would be foolish to think Reed wouldn't value Koeman's opinion on recruitment highly. We've just signed Pelle from Koeman's former club and Tadic from the Dutch league, do you not think Koeman had an influence in that?
