What point are you trying to make?
-
How do you propose Saints keep hold of players when some of the biggest and richest clubs in World football make large offers (both in terms of transfer fees and wages)?
-
It appears a lot of Saints fans don't understand the following... Asset stripping In an "asset strip" you don't buy £18.9m worth of replacements (with more to come) and a £30m+ upgrade of the training ground. We'd be signing free transfers like Aston Villa have been doing with Senderos, Cole and Richardson. Fire sale A "fire sale" by definition is selling things at bargain basement prices. Saints are selling for huge prices to huge clubs.
-
Some of the biggest and richest clubs in World football are making large bids for our players and shock horror, our players are interested.
-
Do we? Cork is on the bench and Schneiderlin and Wanyama aren't available for this game. Positions we don't need extra players... right back, central midfield and defensive midfield.
-
Wanayma is on international duty with Kenya. They have a two legged match vs Lesotho, first game was on 20th July, second game 2nd August.

Harrison Reed signs new four-year deal with Saints
Matthew Le God replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Of course they do, for a start if Reed does start to interest bigger clubs then being on a long contract puts Saints in a stronger negotiating position. -
Would you prefer the club to publicly admit everyone is for sale? That doesn't help our negotiating position does it? If we get a huge bid for Schneiderlin he'll go, every player has a price. What is important is how well we recruit players ourselves. The Guardian says we are close to a deal for Virgil van Dijk. We could end up with van Dijk and Forster with the Lovren money and still have money left over from that £20m, let alone the Lallana, Pochettino, Shaw, Lambert money.

I didn't say he was the best manager ever, just that he has a more impressive CV than any of our previous managers at the time of their appointment. If not Koeman, then which former Saints manager in our 129 year history has a better managerial CV?
-
Thats a bizarre logical route to go down.
-
He has a more impressive CV than any previous Southampton manager in our entire history. Including 3 Dutch league wins, the Spanish Cup and taking two teams to the quarter finals of the Champions League.
-
Although in the league with Valencia he wasn't great (and there were mitigating circumstances) he did win the Spanish Cup so hardly a complete disaster. With Benifca although he came 3rd, he made the Champions League quarter final for the 2nd time in his management career.

Why are people getting concerned about the tweet of a random Arsenal fan?
-
It is not Talksaints' info, it is lifted from this and talksaints retweeted it and then made his own tweet... Mike_Hughes_Business @TheAFCMovement · 21m Calum Chambers medical done today#arsenal#afc https://twitter.com/TheAFCMovement A random Arsenal fan with 400 followers, i.e. complete ********.

He may have blocked you, but he follows me. Me >>> You

True, but if(when) Lovren is sold its hard to see Saints not buying another centre back(maybe even two). Yoshida starting is fine for a bottom half Premier League team, not if we want to maintain a top half finish. If Hooiveld plays its a disaster waiting to happen and he'd be better off at a Championship side. We are being linked with Lovren replacements, and if we get one of these to sign the Lovren departure may not have a huge impact... http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-transfers-virgil-van-dijk-3909641 http://www.mirror.co.uk/sport/football/transfer-news/southampton-want-stefan-de-vrij-3893127

What is wrong with that as a team? (and please don't use the pathetic nickname Gashton in your reply)
-
Is this not a team...? Boruc Chambers Fonte Lovren(Yoshida) Clyne(Targett) Wanyama Davis Schneiderlin Ramirez Tadic Pelle Left back and centre back may not be ideal, but its far from a disaster. Plus we still have 23 days for further additions before the opening game.

Saints open development centre in north Devon
Matthew Le God replied to Matthew Le God's topic in The Saints
Chelsea have one in Romsey and Winchester... https://www.chelseasoccerschools.co.uk/soccerschools/booking/venues.htm -
You didn't just say that though, you said Hull were "developing a far stronger squad than us, substantially so". And then when asked to list players they have that would get into our starting XI, you could only mange 2 out of 11. So 9 of the players in a combined XI would be Saints players, how does that make Hull better than us?
