Not really a surprise, despite what some on this forum think he is a very talented player and Hodgson has been talking of this possibility for months.

He is good at building aqueducts.

He has very good technique, ball control, good off the ball movement, speed whilst dribbling and an eye for a pass.

When Wanyama, Schneiderlin, S.Davis and Ward-Prowse are available its hard to see Reed making the match day squad of 18.

To be fair to Long, he is actually pretty good in the air. Has a bigger jump on him than Pelle, attacks the ball rather than waiting for it and wins headers against people you wouldn't expect he would. (I'm not advocating we do lump it up to him btw)
