Who would you have played as left wing back? Schneiderlin was likely on the bench because he had only been in training for a few days and Koeman didn't want to start him. The last time Schneiderlin came back from injury a few weeks ago, he was injured again within a week. Liverpool were playing with one up front, no need for 3 centre backs against that as it leaves one with little to do. Koeman has said he likes to use 3-5-2 against teams with 2 strikers.

His age isn't particularly noteworthy, so I'm unsure why it features in the thread title or is in bold in the opening post. Its not unusual for a 15 year old to be in an under 16 team. He is very talented and captaining the national side is another good sign.

I didn't say that did I, read the bold bit about signing Duricic and Elia. Plus the return of Rodriguez is effectively adding a new player to the squad that has done so well this season. People are dismissive of turning loans into permanent deals, but they are still transfers. Already done Bertrand, signing Alderweireld, Elia and Duricic is all adding to the squad long term.
