Who are the "traditional top 6" and why them?

Saints do exactly the same to smaller clubs than them, for example Southampton got Matt Radcliffe in the first place from Preston North End. Man Utd sign Radcliffe from Saints and Saints will probably sign a good physio from another club lower down the pecking order to replace Radcliffe. We are an attractive club for most football physios in the country, so I think we're likely to get a good replacement.

I think it would be disappointing to finish 9th or 10th, as that would mean teams that finished below Saints last season have overtaken us. Which team that finished below us last season looks capable of doing that? Swansea perhaps, but who else? Even with Swansea I think if they finished above us it would be dissapointing. 8th is the minimum Saints should be looking at and I think we have a reasonable chance of catching one or two of those teams above us last season.

Saints won the Southern League 6 times between 1897 and 1904, some of the players back then would have very high win %'s.

Today saw data lock for FM15, so anything that happens at Saints from today onwards won't be included. Artur Boruc's loan to Bournemouth definitely won't be included, as emergency loans never are on FM.

Of the 7 teams that finished above us last season, I think we have a reasonable chance of finishing above Everton and Spurs.

Why on earth are you writing us off against Stoke? Bar a Begovic vs Forster debate I wouldn't want any of their players in our starting XI. Stoke fans may make a claim for Shawcross, but he isn't the ball playing centre back Ronald Koeman likes as he does ala Toby Alderweireld/Florin Gardos/Jose Fonte and he'd struggle in our system and style of play.
