Well of course this thread was going to be boring, it is about people that start pointless and boring (sometimes trolling) threads so they were likely to try and defend themselves and attack me. Inevitable then this thread would be a car crash, but it hopefully it has an outside chance of creating a by-pass around the countless random musing threads. In itself it is also a random musing thread, but I'm raising the issue.

I'm not being negative though am I? I'm saying give Koeman time and judge the board on the transfer activity in this window when it shuts, not on day 2 of pre-season. That is the rational way to approach it. If our squad looks poor in early September then I'll criticise the board as negativity will then be deserved, it isn't at the moment.

I haven't ever said that, you've made that up. I've never worded anything remotely like that. At no point have I ever said Saints "need" a 50k stadium. You've made that up. I have talked about Wolves plans, so what? No I didn't. The "theme" of the thread was to look at what the club had made public as to their ambitions for the stadium. Not in the context you've said I did. No I didn't. Please prove otherwise. ...................... Amazing how you've both twisted and taken out of context what I've said in the past that you have now convinced yourselves it happened that way.

Its easy to be annoyed by things if you just make up a list of things up in your head that I've supposedly said. You repeated these so often you've actually convinced yourself now that I actually said those things, when in fact you've twisted, fabricated and taken out of context what I said completely.

Day 2...

Yep, I know this in itself is a random musing thread but this forum is getting ridiculous. As soon as you see some people's name as the latest person to post in a thread or as the thread starter you know before reading its like allowing a flood of sewage into your room... [video=youtube;OTiryN--n-0] Dalek2003 alpine_saint Window Cleaner Dig Dig Pastor Patrón Saint Charlie eelpie 9-3 (and some others I can't remember off the top of my head) Do you all think you all add anything to this forum that people would miss if you stopped posting? It really is an endless stream of illogical negative bull**** and is incredibly tiresome to keep reading it. I'll admit I might not be everyone's cup of tea on this forum, but I think a good number of people like my posts and threads. I think all of the people I've listed would struggle to find many people who thought their contribution to this forum was beneficial. A rational person would wait and see who Ronald Koeman signs this summer and what the squad looks like at on the opening day of the season and again at the beginning of September, then and only then is it time to be negative if needs be. To do so on 2nd July is quite frankly ridiclous. (p.s. I hope the mods try and put an end to the problem I've highlighted, even if they feel they need to move or close this thread first)

post #43 in this thread... I'm sure I've heard that somewhere before...

Even if we offered Lallana and Shaw £100k p/w they wouldn't stay. They are reported to be on those kinds of salaries at Liverpool and Man Utd, plus they have a significantly better chance of getting European football at those clubs. Saints came 8th last season without needing to pay players £100k p/w, we can do so again next season if recruitment is done well.

If someone is deemed to be a £25m player they (and their agent) want wages to match. A £25m player will be looking for getting on towards £100k p/w.

Even without Tadic, Pelle and a new left back we could line up like... Boruc Clyne Lovren Fonte Chambers Schneiderlin Wanyama Cork Ramirez S.Davis Osvaldo/Rodriguez/Gallagher/Sharp/Mayuka That is still a good mid table quality Premier League side. Okay, so the strikers may prove to be a problem as Rodriguez is injured and Osvaldo may be on his way out, but that is why we are bidding for Pelle, plus Tadic will add attacking creativity. Do you honestly believe all of Burnley, Leicester, WBA, Hull, Stoke, Villa, West Ham, Sunderland, Swansea, Newcastle, QPR and Palace are better than us? Have you actually looked at their current squads?
-
What utter nonsense! We came 8th last season, we've only lost 3 players (admittedly 3 very good players). But even without Shaw, Lallana and Lambert we are still better than most (if not all) of the clubs that finished below us and those that were promoted. We also appear to be close to signing Pelle and Tadic, bring in a left back and the squad size is similar to last season and there is still 2 months left of the transfer window to further improve the squad. I wish people would stop starting random musing threads every time they have a panic attack! Patience is a virtue.

You are jumping to conclusions if you think selling players to Man Utd and Liverpool for large amounts of money equals an "asset strip" or "firesale". I'm not sure you understand what they both mean. If Shaw and Lallana played for Stoke, Newcastle, Aston Villa, West Ham etc and Man Utd and Liverpool offered them £55m they would ALL sell them. The training ground development was revealed in League 1 and construction started in the Championship, the club will have funding plans for it a long time ago which didn't require players sales. When they announced it in 2010 they had no idea they would sell Shaw and Lallana for such huge amounts in 2014.

Come September England may nearly be "abroad" for Celtic players.
