Southampton interested in Newcastle GK Freddie Woodman
Matthew Le God replied to Lallana's Left Peg's topic in The Saints
Woodman is 18 years old, Cropper and Gazzaniga are 22 and 23 respectively. I think if we signed Woodman he'd be more of an immediate competition to the other teenage keepers we already have and not vying yet with Gazzaniga/Cropper as 3rd/4th choice keeper. -
The deadline is earlier this season - 24th May.

Thats the total wage bill isn't? Not just the players but the entire staff of the club, but of course the players will be a high % of that £3.85m. Anyone found the actual figure for the playing staff only yet?

Tony Brown the finance director appears to be proud the club screwed over yet more creditors in order to reduce their debt and then had the cheek to use the phrase "paid in full"!

FIFA's Solidarity Contribution is a mechanism that rewards clubs that trained a player at any point between the ages of 12 and 23. For a players entire career any time he is transferred 5% of the fee is shared among all the clubs that trained him from 12 to 23. A higher weighting is given to those years at a club between 16 and 23. It isn't written into transfer deals like a sell on % is, it is just a standard for all transfers across the world for players of any age. This is how even though we lost our sell on fee for Gareth Bale, we did still get money when he went to Real Madrid. -

Saints and Newcastle both reveal record profits... BBC ignores Saints £33.4m profit in headline and focus on the Liebherr loan, but use Newcastle's £18.7m profit as headline and focus of article. -
Could Stekelenburg be the next Forsyth?
Matthew Le God replied to david in sweden's topic in The Saints
How are you defining "utter ****e"? Its relative to the level you what him for. Stekelenburg played 191 times for Ajax, 48 times for AS Roma and has 54 Dutch caps (including playing in a World Cup final) so he clearly has a decent pedigree. If we were linked to him in League One or the Championship would you call him "utter ****e"? If we were to sign him in the summer he'd be a stop gap until Forster recovered and then Forster's back-up. -

Can anyone explain why? It is now significantly larger in scale than the original plans and includes many things the £15m project didn't include. Compared to the original £15m plan; the £38m plan has more buildings on the site, a bigger pavilion building and also they have expanded the site to the south into farmers fields with more pitches. -

Well this didn't have the desired effect.

So what? It did exist though and whilst it existed I took him off ignore and read the thread and didn't put him back on ignore as he was banned.

I just explained that I was intrigued as to why you were banned. The only way I could see the posts which led to your banning was to take you off ignore.

There is no rule on Premier League minimum capacity. To meet the Premier League standards it is largely about things like media provision and given the money they'd get they could sort it out over the summer. There is no need for a ground share and I struggle to see why Saints would agree to it in any case. I doubt Hampshire's police force would like to deal with 20,000 Cherries fans in Southampton 19+ times in 2015/16.
