  1. I didn't say otherwise, but I do find it hard to believe someone can think the quality difference between Davis and Forster is close and have to wonder what they are watching. Which Premier League teams do you think would want Davis as their first choice keeper?
  2. You are wrong... very wrong. There is a large gulf in quality. Davis wouldn't be first choice keeper for any current Premier League side, he is Championship level in quality. A great servant to the club and was outstanding during our rise to the Premier League, but he is out of his depth at this level.
  3. As good as Fonte is.... Alderweireld is the better player.
  4. Bearsy is a briefcase ****er.
  5. Big difference between friendlies where you play different XI's in each half and a competitive game where at least 8 players play 90 minutes at a high pace.
  6. With the players we have available and fit I don't think that is likely to happen, Reed is behind too many in the pecking order.
  7. If fit I doubt we'll see anything other than both Gardos and Yoshida on the bench, I don't think Seager or Gallagher will be in the squad ahead of Gardos.
  8. He is a central midfielder and is still a schoolboy, playing for the under 16's (with a few appearances for the under 18's), where as Gape is 20 years old.
  9. So instead you pick a keeper who hasn't played a single top flight game.
  10. What have Darlow or Heaton done to be ahead of Forster?
  11. Thats not new, current 1st and 2nd year Southampton scholars came from... Josh Debayo - Chelsea Chris Regis - Arsenal Richard Bakary - Chelsea Stuart Wilkin - Chelsea Harley Wilard - Arsenal Olufela Olomola - Arsenal
  12. 18 months earlier than the originally planned Summer 2022.
  13. Bertrand is a key part of a defence that has only conceded 21 Premier League goals in 29 games. Best record in the league. Arsenal still look shaky at the back and Gibbs hasn't shone at all this season.
  14. He is competing against Schneiderlin and Wanyama for a CM spot, and has been getting a good amount of game time in AM roles for someone his age towards the top of the league. If Schneiderlin or Wanyama were English they would also be getting call-ups. What do you mean by "international quality"? I'm guessing you actually mean "England international quality" as there are huge variations in the abilities of international footballers.

  16. I wonder if there is a correlation between the people that can't see how good Ward-Prowse is and those that thought Wotton was better than Schneiderlin...? http://www.saintsweb.co.uk/showthread.php?12867-Schneiderlin-Saints-Biggest-Waste-of-Cash-Ever&highlight=schneiderlin+wotton#.VQoFHULKzpV
  17. Who is? Jack Colback was called up recently and Ward-Prowse has more to his game than him.
  18. Not really a surprise, despite what some on this forum think he is a very talented player and Hodgson has been talking of this possibility for months.
  19. He is good at building aqueducts.
  20. He has very good technique, ball control, good off the ball movement, speed whilst dribbling and an eye for a pass.
  21. When Wanyama, Schneiderlin, S.Davis and Ward-Prowse are available its hard to see Reed making the match day squad of 18.
  22. Aren't "jokes" meant to be funny and not the same stream of negative **** repeated on a loop for 6 years?
  23. Why aren't the under 21's using McCarthy at right back in preparation for this then? The club actually appear to view McCarthy as a centre back.
  24. Why is it shameful? Who would you not have on the bench to make way for him?
  25. To be fair to Long, he is actually pretty good in the air. Has a bigger jump on him than Pelle, attacks the ball rather than waiting for it and wins headers against people you wouldn't expect he would. (I'm not advocating we do lump it up to him btw)
