  1. - £100m+ turnover for 2013/14 (£76m TV plus £25m+ for commercial/matchday and then any additional revenue streams) - Costs of circa £50m wages and £27m transfers to pay (£22m in 2014/15) Is the financhial situation really as difficult as they made out? Looks quite healthy to me. The media jumps on the £27m of outstanding transfer fees, but ignores that it is covered easily by the revenue, let alone selling Osvaldo and other surplus players.
  2. - Saints got £76.9m 'central revenue payment' in 2013/14, add the commercial, match day income and other revenue streams and turnover will be £100m+. - Wages not much over £50m - Outstanding transfer fees of £27m, of which £22m to be paid in 2014/15 Yet the media only focus on the outstanding transfers fees and describe Saints as a club desperate for money! Actually looks pretty healthy financially to me despite what Hans Hofstetter said.
  3. Coleman signed for Everton aged 20, Stones joined at 18 having already played 24 games in the Championship for Barnsley. Neither played for Everton's academy. Gallagher and Stephens joined Saints as 16 year olds and both played for our academy teams. Reed, Chambers, Shaw, Ward-Prowse, Sinclair and a number of others at the club have all been at Saints since 8/9 years old.
  4. Pochettino played in France for 3 years with PSG and Bordeaux, I'd imagine his level of French is reasonable.

  6. Targett is only 61 days younger than Shaw! The age gap is so small they are effectively the same age for comparison purposes, yet Shaw has played nearly 60 games for a Premier League side and is going to the World Cup and Targett is yet to make a senior team appearance. By no means am I dismissing Targett as a player, but there is a vast gulf in where they both are at the moment when you consider they are only 2 months different in age.
  7. The club should be looking to bring in another quality centre back to partner Lovren, which would drop Fonte to 3rd choice, Yoshida to 4th choice and sell/loan/release Hooiveld.
  8. Every Saints player and back room staff member will likely wave to the crowd today, I wonder which ones the media will cherry pick to make a story of?
  9. Why would he be left out of the team for the last game of the season just because another club is interested in him? Are there any precedents for that?
  10. Wouldn't it be difficult for a "plastic" Man Utd fan to get away tickets as they wouldn't get to general sale due to the demand from regulars? Especially for the last away game of the season.
  11. To come 6th Saints would have to finish above at least 2 teams out of Man City, Man Utd, Everton, Spurs, Arsenal, Chelsea and Liverpool. That requires moving up a level. if Saints were ever able to come above 2 of those 7 teams, a Champions League challenge wouldn't be that much of a leap further forward. If you can compete for 6th, 4th isn't far away. Getting above 8th is the main difficulty as that is where there is the biggest gap.
  12. I wouldn't look at it that way as it isn't relevant as it isn't his stats from before joining Liverpool. Coutinho is already a Liverpool player and his stats are whilst at Liverpool playing with Suarez/Sturridge etc. I'd ask how much he thinks Coutinho is now worth, because Lallana has outperformed him in many ways.
  13. Lallana vs Coutinho in 2013/14 in the Premier League Lallana has... - more goals - higher pass accuracy - more aerial duels won per game - more interceptions per game - blocked more shots per game - more dribbles per game - more crosses per game
  14. We do know it was confirmed by the current board, because Krueger said in an interview he was meeting with three potential sponsors and had to decide between them.
  15. This looks both very strange and yet somehow very impressive, hopefully it hypnotises United on Sunday...
  16. I don't think they have either from what I can see of the size of the company. If it is still a relatively low deal in Premier League terms then its disappointing as from what Krueger was saying he should have closed the commercial gap.
  17. It was announced as that in January... http://www.nottinghamforest.co.uk/news/article/fox-trots-in-1326533.aspx#tu5oUUrGH08V9IS7.99
  18. It can work the other way round... Swindon Town were sponsored by Samsung in League 1 and League 2, big famous company (that I'm guessing many would like at Saints) but a tiny deal money wise relative to the Premier League deals.
  19. So? If they can get £5m a year, why shouldn't Saints?
  20. It can work the other way... Swindon Town were sponsored by Samsung in League 1 and League 2, big famous company (that I'm guessing many would like at Saints) but a tiny deal money wise relative to the Premier League deals.
  21. In 2013/14... Fulham £5m Stoke £3m Whats wrong with thinking we should be in the £3m to £5m ballpark for a sponsorship deal when compared with those clubs we have overtaken on the pitch? Anything less than £3m isn't really significantly closing the gap commercially as Ralph Krueger suggested he would be aiming to do.
  22. In 2013/14 Fulham £5m Stoke £3m Whats wrong with thinking we should be in the £3m to £5m ballpark for a sponsorship deal? You suggesting Saints should only be worth £1.5m stands out more than my suggestion. Yes, Fulham have a London advantage, but Saints have a better team, bigger support base and and better infrastructure.
  23. You've taken that out of context somewhat, I didn't say it definitely was a £3m to £5m deal, l said... "Saints should be looking for deals from £3m to £5m if they are seriously looking to close the gap commercially as Ralph Krueger stated he was aiming to". If it is only another £500k making it £1.5m, that'll be disappointing as it still leaves Saints significantly below many teams we've overtaken on the pitch. Krueger was talking about closing the gap commercially, a £1.5m shirt sponsorship deal will still be one of the lowest in the Premier League.
