  1. Watch it here live from 9pm tonight...
  2. England differs from Spain, Italy, Germany and France, as we have over 100 professional clubs. "B" teams will stretch that even further with additional professional tiers in the pryamid. The Spanish 2nd tier has 19 teams with gates under 10k and 9 with gates under 5k (some as low as 2k). How do the 60+ teams below that financhially support professional contracts? I'm not saying the quality of football is better, but Spain doesn't have clubs the size of Wolves, Coventry, Sheff Utd, Bristol City in its 3rd tier, Pompey and Plymouth in its 4th tier or Luton in its 5th tier. "B" teams are more suited to Spain as there is less in the way of competition from other professional clubs.
  3. Why only a "maybe" for Keegan!? He was the reigning European player of the year when Saints signed him! Peter Shilton got 50 odd England caps whilst at Saints.
  4. Well that was down to buying badly. Barry claimed a club automatically gets worse if it sells star players. It doesn't, just depends how well you replace them.
  5. Since the takeover 5 years ago Saints have only sold one player they didn't want to leave who was a 1st choice. Won't we? Everton sold their star player last summer and have improved as a result.

  7. Selling your best players doesn't mean you automatically become worse. Everton sold Fellaini last summer and look all the better for it. If Saints lose Shaw and/or Lallana and buy well in the summer the squad could be better than it was this year, ideally with more depth to it.
  8. What in that article are you suggesting is a rumour?
  9. I wasn't talking about the other parties or sticking up for them, I was talking UKIP. If UKIP thought they could get away with a policy of no immigration at all I think lots of their party members would want to do so. Stories like this are a regular occurrence for UKIP... http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-23597233 Are such views not racist? The press didn't hold a gun to his head and tell him to use the phrase "bongo bongo land" did they?
  10. UKIP are effectively a party with similar views to the BNP but have realised an overly racist agenda isn't going to get them anywhere. Instead they've marketed themselves as the more acceptable version of the BNP.
  11. At what point do the BNP and UKIP think the country should have closed its borders to immigrants...? When neolithic man arrived? The Beaker folk? The Romans? The Anglo-Saxons? The Vikings? The Normans in the 11th century? The Huguenots in the 17th century? Indians, Afro-Caribbeans and Africans in 19th and 20th century? The Polish 10 years ago? Bulgarians in 2014?
  12. The six of them aren't all going for the same roles in the systems Pochettino uses. Reed, Ward-Prowse and S.Davis can all play in more advanced roles in the 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 system. Plus in any case we need squad depth and midfield is one area we have it. As you say, we need another keeper, centre back and striker.
  13. Ramirez remains out and Schneiderlin isn't fully fit so possibly only on the bench along with Lambert... BBC Solent Sport ‏@solentsport 20m #saintsfc Both Rickie Lambert (gluteus muscle) & Morgan Schneiderlin (thigh) battling to be fit for Swansea trip - Gaston Ramirez out It is all hinting towards a start for Reed.
  14. Here you go...
  15. Southampton FC ‏@SouthamptonFC 1m MP: "We have doubts over Rickie Lambert. We'll assess him tomorrow. Maybe it's better for him to come off the bench." #saintsfc

  17. Jack Stephens isn't there, he is on loan at Swindon Town and I can't see Turnbull in any of them. The youngster with a beard is Sam McQueen, not Turnbull. Players who qualify as under 21's in those photos are... Paulo Gazzaniga James Ward-Prowse Luke Shaw Calum Chambers Sam Gallagher Cody Cropper Harrison Reed Jake Flannigan Matthew Targett Sam McQueen Its Jake Flannigan in photo 18, Targett is in other photos.
  18. Schneiderlin trained today with the rest of the first team.
  19. He played a key role in turning a company with a turnover of £9m in 2008/09 into one which in 2013/14 will have a turnover of over £100m.
