  1. We've only had two under 21 games since 13th December, the last one was over 2 weeks ago on 20th January. Pochettino probably feels its better for Wanyama to be training with the first team during the week rather than the development squad.
  2. Its a deserved red for Carroll (he swung his arm, minimal contact is irrelevant), the only thing that encourages cheating is no punishment for Flores for trying to get him sent off by play acting. They should both be punished over the incident, but that would be too confusing for the football world to cope with.
  3. Did you trust the club with... - Shaw over Fox? - Ward-Prowse over Chaplow? - Chambers over Richardson? (if you didn't, then surely you can see now you were wrong?) Then why not trust them if they believe Gallagher and Targett are ready? Unlike most English clubs, Saints have teenagers ready to play for a top half Premier League side. I think the system at Saints deserves a little more respect from some Saints fans in their ability to know when a player is ready for a first team spot.
  4. Flores made a massive meal of it and there was very little contact (certainly not where he holds his face), but it still looks to me like it may have been a deliberate swing by Carroll. Minimal contact or not, that would make it a red card offence. Problem is you aren't going to see a player punished for making a meal of an incident like Flores did and a red card for the offending player at the same time (even if its deserved). Footballers and football fans wouldn't be able to comprehend that even if its justified.
  5. Also means Carroll misses the West Ham vs Saints game on 22nd February.
  6. I don't see the logic in the jump from ending the Adidas contract to having an own brand kit next season. If the story about ending the Adidas contract is true, why would the club favour an own brand kit over using Nike, Puma etc? Sounds like ********.
  7. Are you aware how wishy washy that sounds? What makes you think this random Chelsea fan would know?
  8. Game live on Sky sold out nearly a month beforehand... Southampton FC ‏@SouthamptonFC 3h All standard tickets and hospitality packages for the visit of @LFC next month have now SOLD OUT. Thanks for the superb support! #saintsfc
  9. Lovren is back running again... http://instagram.com/p/j_psMVhtL7/

  11. We don't have a player called Davies, and Steven Davis plays in a different position and role to Jack Cork. Wanyama and Cork are vying for the same role, Davis plays further forward in the three behind the striker.
  12. The same ones as every other game when people start threads like this. Just bookmark them or type into google "Fulham vs Southampton stream".
  13. He was training with Fulham before the deal was confirmed. https://twitter.com/SkySportsNews/status/429215732669620225/photo/1 Some reports even suggesting he had been training with them even longer than that.
  14. A combination of the two, he has still been playing games and training with our academy for the last couple of years.
  15. So what? He has a prior arrangement to be in Russia until the end of February.
  16. Bankers and solicitors help sell clubs, not professional sports people. He is talking about how he can improve us, not how to sell us.
  17. The jist of my point is Liebherr has persuaded Krueger to agree to come to us, why would she bother if she intended to sell the club? Krueger sounds genuinely excited by the challenge of helping Saints and working with Liebherr. We've had the "she's selling the club" rumours since her father died 2010. Its now 2014 and it hasn't happened!
  18. I'm not transcribing five minutes of interview, listen to it later. Because they are rubbish.
  19. From 30.30 of this... And here he is at the Yeovil game...
  20. Ralf Krueger's interview on Canadian radio suggests Liebherr has long term plans for the club.
  21. Any signs that we are? Katharina Liebherr has been the owner since 2010 and in that time we've seen huge investment in the infrastructure at training ground/academy/stadium and the team.
  22. 31st January 2011... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/teams/s/southampton/9382981.stm 31st January 2014... http://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/0/football/25971318
  23. On the flip side to that, we've probably improved team morale for the rest of the squad.
  24. We got Juventus to sign a lunatic, pay 100% of his wages and agree to a potential €19m transfer (which means profit). I'd say Gareth Rogers has done quite well, wouldn't you?
