Because he probably didn't get the full amount of what was left on his contract and now gets the chance to find another club that will pay him during the time he would have been contracted at Saints. - Saints benefit from having to pay him less - Martin benefits as his football career can move on and he gets a payoff Barnard hasn't left Saints, he is on loan at Southend.
-
Yep, Jonathan Forte is still at the club.

One of the 10 reasons is "we held the FA Cup for a record 7 years", but fail to mention the reason they had it so long was due to World World II breaking out!
-
Its hard to see him being a Pochettino type player. On his day he is a superb player, but if anything his lack of work rate is the complete opposite of what you'd expect Pochettino to be looking to sign. He also will turn 33 years old on 30th January, so again doesn't match our previous transfer policy.

What makes you think that?

Why Kelvin Davis over Artur Boruc? Southampton FC @SouthamptonFC2h MP: “Artur Boruc is fine.” And Rodrigues?

Nothing different from any other week. The press-conferences before every game start with questions from broadcast media outlets like Sky, then the cameras are switched off and the written press then get to ask questions. This is then embargoed until the evening so it can make the papers the next day without things leaking.
-
We should try and swap him for Ever Banega.

We drew with them last season at St. Mary's with this line-up... 31 Boruc 03 Yoshida 06 Fonte 23 Shaw 04 Schneiderlin Booked 08 S Davis 10 Ramirez (Ward-Prowse - 77' ) 18 Cork 21 Guly (De Ridder - 83' Booked ) 42 Puncheon 07 Lambert (Rodriguez - 74' ) [h=4]Substitutes[/h] 01 K Davis 05 Hooiveld 22 Richardson 16 Ward-Prowse 33 De Ridder 09 Rodriguez 24 Mayuka

FA Cup 5th round draw thread (Sunderland Away)
Matthew Le God replied to rickylambert's topic in The Saints
As ever in these threads... I want the worst team left in the competition at St Mary's in order to give us the best possible chance of winning the FA Cup. -
Listen to the Yeovil commentary instead.
-
Technically the captain always starts the game.
-
Not the same logic at all, it will take a lot more than one team having an upturn in form to overtake Saints and relegate them. There are a lot of teams below Saints and only 16 games left they simply won't all be able to catch Saints if we had a huge collapse. Anyone who thinks it'll take 40 points is daft. It'll be in the low to mid 30's, where Saints already are with 16 games left.
-
So if he is a right back, do you think Smalling will go if Walker and Johnson are both fit?
-
I don't understand your logic either. If Hodgson is currently planing for... 3 keepers 2 right backs 2 left backs 4 centre backs 8 midfielders 4 strikers Why would an injury to one of those 2 right backs makes mean he changes to... 3 keepers 1 right backs 2 left backs 4 centre backs 8 or 9 midfielders 4 or 5 strikers ? What make far more sense to do a straight swap of right back out/right back in rather than change the whole make up of the squad. Smalling and Jone will go regardless of Johnson being fit or not, as we need 4 centre backs.

Arsenal are taking their game at home FA Cup game against League One opposition pretty seriously ahead of meeting us next Tuesday at St Mary's... Arsenal 21 Fabianski 25 Jenkinson 28 Gibbs 10 Wilshere 04 Mertesacker 06 Koscielny 44 Gnabry 15 Oxlade-Chamberlain 23 Bendtner 11 Özil 09 Podolski Substitutes 03 Sagna 12 Giroud 13 Viviano 17 Monreal 19 Cazorla 20 Flamini 58 Zelalem

I wouldn't put him high on a list of players likely to be suited to a Pochettino style high pressing game.
-
Do you have a link?

His nose was apparently broken, so not just the eye. It also didn't happen yesterday, it was earlier in the week so the swelling will have gone down.
-
Fonte might be available based on this...

Jim Lucas @Jim_SFCMedia6m 21,096 sold at last count. On sale until kick-off so I'd expect another few thousand on top of that. #saintsfc

When did the Vucinic U-turn happen? Because the Osvaldo/Fonte fight didn't happen yesterday, it was earlier in the week.
-
Wouldn't Inter and their fans be more be likely to want Osvaldo over Vucinic and that could be the reason Inter pulled the plug on Vucinic after events at Saints this week?

He said... "if we're comfy" then "rest Adam", that would then be the scenario to bring on "Victor... if poss". So three subs for the first "comfy" scenario, he didn't say Wanyama to come on in both scenarios merely "if poss" hinting towards the comfy scenario.
