Portsmouth Apprentice 2013 Sponsored by Starring Stuart "The Brand" Baggs as deluded Pompey fans Claude Littner as rallyboy

5 goals in 35 Premier League games is not impressive and he wouldn't be an upgrade on what we have in our starting XI. Why do we need to bring in "squad forwards"? Our signings should be better than the current 1st choice in their positions, that is how you improve as a club. Bringing in average to below average Premier League squad players is what Rupert Lowe did and ended in disaster. Wanyama and Lovren are upgrades on what we had, so would Damiao. That appears to be the transfer policy this summer, not signing players like Di Santo.

Sharp doesn't have a squad number and wasn't used last season, him leaving doesn't open a place up in the squad. Mayuka being loaned to Wigan would.

A player scoring regularly in one top European league, moving to another top European league and scoring regularly SHOCKER! Yes, he may have flopped, not adapted etc, but it isn't a huge surprise he did well.
-
Michu scored 15 goals in La Liga in the season before he moved to Swansea, whilst playing for the team that finished 15th. Is it really much of a surprise he scored 18 goals for Swansea in the following season?

James O'Connor @Makaveli26986 55m @reluctantnicko are wigan any closer to bringing an attacker in al? Alan Nixon @reluctantnicko Protected account 53m @Makaveli26986 Mayuka would be a loan ... u did well with that stab the other day btw.

Golden moment Nutjobs! Saints are currently joint 1st in Premier League, Pompey 23rd in League Two. The 91 places between them is the largest its ever been since Pompey established 115 years ago in 1898! There is plenty of life left in this thread.

First half was... K.Davis Chambers Lovren Yoshida Shaw Schneiderlin Wanyama Ramirez Rodriguez Lallana Lambert Second half was... Boruc Chambers Fonte Hooiveld Shaw/Fox Cork Ward-Prowse Puncheon S.Davis Do Prado Mayuka It was better in the first half with more of the players that will start against West Brom playing. But even in the 2nd half Saints did have a number of chances.

Rodriguez running at Lugano will be interesting.

Not sure what theory you are talking about. Humans didn't evolve from apes, but they do share a common ancestor. -
Is Paul Merson to blame?
-
So you don't believe in innocent until proven guilty? Whilst that is how he should be viewed, signing him for big money before his trial is a huge risk.

They will still have a team next season, they will have a large points deduction.
-
They've arrived at the St Mary's reception...

Gazzaniga doesn't count either.
-
These 5 don't... Ward-Prowse Chambers Shaw Gazzaniga Isgrove

They were probably trying to find a buyer earlier in the summer, couldn't find anyone interested enough to take on his wages at Saints and so released him by mutual consent.

Because he is a WUM. -
A lot of our players would be sellable if relegation happened. The likes of Wanyama, Ramirez, Lovren, Shaw, Schneiderlin, Clyne, Rodriguez etc would be snapped up before any Championship wage decrease was required. It is a young squad and would raise a large amount.
