  1. He is 21 years old, an England under 21 international and has 20 Championship goals this season. I think you are being very harsh on him.
  2. Gaston Ramirez training today...
  3. That is irrelevant to my point that he isn't one of the "dregs" last summer.
  4. If Osvaldo really was one of the "dregs" last summer, why did the leading club in Italy sign him on loan from us? Yes, he is a mentalist, but he is still a very good player.
  5. Better to have the best academies playing each other in a league system (best vs the best), rather than being decided by the league their senior team are in. Which is what EPPP sets out to do. Some lower league academies are better than those in the Premier League, why punish them? How would you envisage that working in a global sport with national league pyramid systems and not a closed shop like sports in the USA and Australia? That would be extremely negative for Saints, makes investment in youth academies (from the age of 8 to 21) pointless.
  6. We can't have that! When it was announced over the PA system at St Mary's that Bournemouth had been promoted from League 2 in 2010 a big cheer and applause went around the stadium. The Cherries are our little cousins we look out for and want to do well. Patronising enough?
  7. No, 12:45.
  8. The dockyard strike is a myth created by Portsmouth fans. Ask them to provide anything even remotely close to reliable supporting evidence for it and they won't be able to. They can't even prove the year it was supposed to have happened, logically it doesn't hold together at all and makes no sense.
  9. Pochettino has more managerial credentials than Sherwood, and they appointed him as a full time manager.
  10. Does that not in itself indicate he has been superb all the way through the season? For example Suarez is the only player with more assists than Lambert in the Premier League, and 11 goals makes him the 11th top scorer in the league.
  11. Perhaps it was a random child who just happened to be nearby and not his kid.
  12. In the live table Bournemouth are only 3 points away from the playoffs, we could have a South Coast derby next season...
  13. It was still a penalty regardless of the City player dropping to the floor easily. No idea what Fonte was thinking.
  14. That isn't even remotely close to being a difficult decision! Probably the ref's fault really as he should have told the linesman that there was another touch, which he may not have been able to see. It wasn't offside from the initial pass, but was once the 2nd Man City player touched the ball through to Nasri.

  16. Although Clyne is back in training, Pochettino ruled him out of the game. I'd guess that will see Guly on the bench instead.
  17. Ted Smith, the England under 18 keeper who appears to be on trial from Southend United. Not writing a teenager off on the basis of one error are you...?
  18. Here's another room of giants from the past... Gold star on its way if you can name them all!
  19. They are aiming for the first phase (with the main pavilion building) ready this summer for when players return for pre-season. The extension of the site into the farmers fields to the south including the new training dome and additional pitches will take longer.
  20. Part of it, the additional fields to the south which extend the size of the site cost money as does... - the new training dome - 3G pitches - groundman store - security hut - improvements to the academy buildings - significantly larger main pavilion building - extra floodlights etc etc All which weren't included in the original £15m plans. For example originally it was going to look like this... Which is significantly smaller in scope than what they are now building and is why the cost is now £30m+, because it is better than the original plans.
  21. £30m upgrade of the training ground... When finished... Plus the club is now extending the training ground to these fields... Those fields will include a new training dome and will end up like this... http://web3.newforest.gov.uk/ConnectAcolaidWebExternal/GetDocumentContentExternal.aspx?documentId=622617&filename=Proposed+Site+Plan.pdf More planning applications keep going into the New Forest District council for further improvements, for example last month this was submitted... http://web3.newforest.gov.uk/ConnectAcolaidWebExternal/GetDocumentContentExternal.aspx?documentId=815832&filename=AL-12-20-010+UNDER+PITCH+HEATING+ENCLOSURE+-+PLANS+-+ELEVATIONS-Rev+C331779620000.pdf.pdf
  22. Saints release a lot of youngsters every summer. As does every club with its youngsters it doesn't think will make it with them, in order for the next batch to have a pathway.
  23. Gazzaniga, Johns (who has been on the bench behind Smith in both games) and possibly Cropper could all have played in goal in the two game Smith is being used in. Its clearly a chance for Saints to look at Smith up close in training and over two games with a view to making a move. Phil Brown is trying to appease the Southend fans which will work in the event of Saints not moving for Smith, but its hard to see why Saints would use Smith over Johns if they weren't potentially looking to sign him.
  24. He has left Saints and has signed a pro deal at Aston Villa.
