And do Rodriguez and Mayuka not play in wide areas for Saints and take on players on the outside for pace? I think you will find they do. As do Clyne and Shaw in wide areas, the modern fullback is very attacking especially in Pochettino's system. Puncheon isn't exactly "slow" either.

Ramirez joined Saints in August 2012, Coutinho joined Liverpool in Janaury 2013.

Rodriguez is very quick and often uses his pace to beat a player out wide, as does Mayuka when he plays. We also have two very quick fullbacks in Clyne and Shaw who play in very advanced roles. I wouldn't actually say Lallana or especially Puncheon are "slow" either.

Cortese isn't going to sell him for less than we brought him for under a year ago ffs. Cortese might as well keep Ramirez than sell him at a loss 1 year into a 4 year contract. I maintain he is our best player, just very inconsistent. I think he will be much better next season after a pre-season at Saints, which he didn't have this year. He was also hit by a number of injuries and a family bereavement in his first season in a foreign league at 22 years old.

Kone is 29 years old ffs. Do you not think it is unfair to compare him with a 22 year old that has only had brief cameos so far? I think Mayuka from the little we've seen looks promising.
