SaintBobby didn't say he was certain that Arsenal would win. But the vast majority of people looking at that game would come to the conclusion Arsenal are the overriding favourites. A Wigan win although possible (as they showed last season), it is very unlikely. Yet you claim "if we stay on 39 points I am certain we will go down", so by saying that you are saying you are certain Wigan will beat Arsenal.
-
Even if they did beat Arsenal, that still doesn't mean 39 points wouldn't be enough. Given you can get odds of 10/1 on a Wigan win on Tuesday I'm assuming as you are so convinced they will win you must have put a large bet on this match given your likely huge returns. Haven't you...? If not, why not?

Out of interest Mr Dalek2003.... Should the extremely unlikely happen and 4th place Arsenal beat 18th place Wigan at home on Tuesday and it is shown that 39 points is enough. What will you say or will we never hear from you on the subject again like with your 17th place Championship predictions of 2011/12? -

In the same way you stuck with your prediction that it would need 43 points, then 41 points and now 40 points. Or your prediction from last season in the Championship that Saints would finish 17th. I'd quit making predictions if I were you Dalek2003, you aren't very good at them! -
You said 43 points, then 41 points now you are saying 39 points. When it is shown 39 points is actually enough to keep a team with Saints goal difference safe will you backtrack even further to 39 points? Last season you said we'd finish 17th in the Championship! We were in the top 2 for the entire season! ffs

Yet again you are overlooking it isn't just Wigan that would need to overtake Saints. Yes, some bad results for Saints in terms of other teams and Saints themselves have or will happen. But there are so many things that would need to happen for Saints to go down it is very, very unlikely. 39 points will be enough.

It wouldn't, Saints could still go down with these results... Villa 0 - Chelsea 1 Norwich 1 - West Brom 0 QPR 0 - Newcastle 1 Fulham 1 - Liverpool 1 Sunderland 1 - Saints 1 Arsenal 0 - Wigan 1 Southampton 0 - Stoke 13 Tottenham 1 - Sunderland 1 Wigan 1 - Villa 0 -
Why on earth does a football shirt need a pocket?

No, I'm not. Did you want to meet me for a drink? I can practise drinking whilst you talk.

Have you put a bet on it? If not, why not? As you can get odds of 10/1 on a Wigan win! They are long, because it is very unlikely to happen. Can you not understand now why people said you were wrong? Lots of things had to happen for Saints on 39 points not to be enough, yes some of those things might and did happen. But they were never going to ALL happen.

So you think in the next 2 games... - Wigan will win away at Arsneal and win home to Villa AND - Norwich will pick up 2 points or more from West Brom and Man City AND - Newcastle will pick up 2 points or more from QPR and Arsenal AND - Sunderland will beat Saints AND - Saints lose at home to Stoke ................ It would take ALL those things to happen for Saints to go down on 39 points. Not just a few of them, ALL of them. It is very, very, very unlikely as many people have been telling you for the past few weeks. You just stick your fingers in your ears and continue with the same nonsense. They weren't valid at all! For what you said to occur a huge number of events would have to go against Saints. Of course some games would, but it was always extremely unlikely enough things would go against Saints for them to go down. 39 points will be enough to stay up, just as people told you weeks ago.

Yes, you are right, but then Bournemouth were in admin at the time, Pompey aren't anymore.
