  1. What I said was true. I said "if they did the same over a year" i.e. 365 days. I did not say "if they did the same over a year using the current opening times excluding things like Christmas Day etc".
  2. After they were relegated from the Premier League he played for them on loan for an entire season in the Championship, which is where the confusion may have come from perhaps?

  4. I didn't say he would replace Fonte, I said "for all we know Adkins may bring in another centre back to replace Fonte". I don't see why that is unreasonable? Especially given the squad definetly needs more centre backs, any new ones may well be better than the ones already here and I think Hooiveld is the stronger of the current ones, so Fonte's place would be more under threat.
  5. His loan spell at the end of the 2009/10 season at Burnley. From February 9th to May 9th he played in 11 games (8 starts). Not a long period admittedly, but in that loan he looks like a regular to me.
  6. Which is why I said Steven Davis or Jose Fonte. Davis is far more likely, I just gave two options. Fonte was captain last season for a significant time - every minute Hammond wasn't on the pitch and Hammond started 31 games out of 46 in the League. Of course Fonte being captain would also depend on him getting a lot of game time, for all we know Adkins may bring in another centre back to replace Fonte in the starting XI. But until that happens I went with Davis and Fonte.
  7. He played a part in 32 Championship games last season. Yes, the vast majority were as sub for relatively short periods, but it still shows a fair degree of "trust" from Adkins. I quite like De Ridder and think he could be quite useful next season. Most of his game is good and he has a lot going for him, just needs to work on the final ball.
  8. Do you think Hammond will be " the skipper" next season? I don't, it will probably be either Steven Davis or Jose Fonte. Davis as a former captain of Rangers and his country along with likely playing a lot of games would seem a good choice. I did also say Hammond may well be kept on for this season. After that I think Adkins/Cortese will want to evolve the squad some more to the next level.
  9. So what? Do we know the reason for that? Cork may have had a slight knock. Last season Cork started 8 more games than Hammond and was the only Saints player to play in every game. You only need to watch them regularly to see which is the better player. Technically Cork is far superior to Hammond.
  10. Some simple maths will show you that if they did the same over a year it would equal... - Selling 146,000 shirts - Turning over £9.1 million Plus... - 400 shirts sold over an 8 hour day equals = 1.2 shirts sold per minute! It is safe to assume that is not a typical day at the megastore Alpine.
  11. Cork and in particular Davis have both been regulars for Premier League sides. Not a "guarantee", but when can you ever get a guarantee a player will do well?
  12. I didn't say he would "totally rely" on Ward-Prowse as backup this season. Cork, Schneiderlin, Davis all will play ahead of Hammond/Ward-Prowse. Guly Do Prado, Lallana and De Ridder can be used centrally behind the strikers and you also have Chaplow. When it comes to naming a 25 man squad, some will have to be left out. Saints already have more than twenty five over 21 players and more signings are likely to come in. I also said Hammond "may well stay this season", but it is the beginning of the end for him at Saints. Unlikely to get a new contract and if he doesn't go this summer or in January, he probably will next summer.
  13. I still don't think they have a legal leg to stand on. These players are free to join who they want.
  14. Hammond will probably be 4th choice central midfielder behind Cork, Schneiderlin and Davis. That is also likely to see him lose the captaincy either to Steven Davis or Jose Fonte. Hammond may well stay this season, but the club won't want to block the route for Ward-Prowse into the first team, so Hammond will probably depart soon(ish).
  15. Can be used as a striker, which Palace did towards the end of last season.
  16. Of the players you listed, only De Ridder is a proper right winger. You could raise doubts over all of them making it for an upper half Premier League team, which is clearly the aim for Saints in the near future. Since Chamberlain left the club, right midfield is the position Saints have had most trouble finding someone to fill. As highlighted by the large number of players used last season with none of them really claiming it as their own with any real success. Guly Do Prado probably came the closest, and he really isn't a winger/wide midfielder at all. Plus, it is possible to do more than one deal at the same time. Signing a right midfielder doesn't mean necessarily that signing a GK or CB won't happen.
  17. A poster on a Palace forum yesterday morning, long before The Sun article was published... http://www.cpfc.org/forums/showpost.php?p=10385136&postcount=1668
  18. 22nd June they said Steven Davis was a Saints target, 6th July he signs for Saints. A case of throw enough mud and some sticks, or maybe they actually know something...?
  19. Well yes, it is The Sun, BUT they got the Steven Davis story right... 22nd June http://www.thesun.co.uk/sol/homepage/sport/football/4387392/Southampton-ready-to-table-an-interesting-offer-for-Steve-Davis.html 6th July A case of throw enough mud and some sticks, or maybe they actually know something...? Lets see how far this story goes... 20. Catching up to the levels sold under Rupert Lowe and they still have 3 weeks left to sell more! Looks like it will be difficult to get a ticket close to match-day with only 7,443 seats left and shrinking all the time...
  21. It gives you numbers on the ticketing website of what has been sold in each block. You get a colour coded seating plan of the entire stadium and can see which seats have been sold so far.
  22. You used a program which showed Peter listed as playing for "evidence" that Kasper was at the game. The program proves no such thing. Kasper may well of been at the game and you could be right. However your choice of evidence was poor.
  23. And some people think I'm deluded... pfc123 and Corporate Ho were on a different level earlier in this thread!
