I have watched it. The system is meant to work through fluke of birth linking royalty back to Dark Age Warlords. However the program highlights an illegitimate link in the chain, rendering the last 500 years of Royalty as a sham. Even if they were all legitimate, it is still a fluke of birth that they were born into a family related to those Dark Age Warlords who killed and plundered their way to power. What is there to celebrate about that?

Daily Mail also running with the story... http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/football/article-2153416/Southampton-Birmingham-keeper-Jack-Butland.html?ito=feeds-newsxml

We might well be, how many clubs can offer him regular Premier League starts and are in a financial position to match Saints' bid?
-
I've seen you use this phrase a lot, what do you actually mean by it?

Alan Nixon of the Daily Mirror thinks Saints will spend between "£20-£25m this window". He adds... "Ambition is very real. U will spend. More than most in your 'sector.' " He defines Southampton's "sector" as... "From last season's middle down. Swansea and south in the table." If true, some of you need to reassess your ambitions for the transfer window! -
Transfer policy - what kind of transfers can we expect?

Things like this make a mockery of the whole system... Why support any of them? They just happen to be the descendants of warlords born into their position through a fluke of birth.

Is this much of a surprise? In any case it is funny to see... Footballing "giants" Crawley Town are currently at a shorter price to win League One than Portsmouth with bookmakers BetVictor and Stan James. http://www.oddschecker.com/football/english/league-one/english-league-1/winner

How many Premier League footballers do you think have ever agreed to sign for a club "pay as you play deal"? -
He would still get paid upto the end of his contract and football contracts in England normally end on 30th June.

Not according to this article published 4 hours ago... http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/swansea-city/9302658/Swanseas-assertion-that-Iceland-midfielder-Gylfi-Sigurdsson-has-signed-for-the-club-wrong-says-Hoffenheim.html -
He needs to pass a medical before he signs anything, so the paperwork can wait until he is back in the country for the medical.
-
The terms will be sorted out whilst Rodriguez is on holiday by his agent back in England, all Rodriguez will have to do is sign the paperwork and have a medical.

It started today and finishes tomorrow. http://www.portsmouth.co.uk/sport/pompey/pompey-past/pompey-administrator-confident-as-football-league-meeting-starts-1-3901641 So they haven't paid the wage bill on the very day they have to convince them they can make it financially!

Their English sister paper has a different spin on it. Read the last line of this article... For what purpose? Accepting a bid of £7m from Saints isn't going to see other clubs suddenly offer £8m or £9m if they know £7m would be accepted.

Has Colinjb now taken my rank?

FM Saints Researcher @MatthewLeGod @bigadamsport Adam, why didn't you ask Trevor Birch about the possible penalty 4 diluting of the 2010 CVA with a new CVA? Adam Blackmore @bigadamsport @MatthewLeGod I don't know if the League has a penalty ruling for it -unless you are? This decision was not an exception to the FL rules FM Saints Researcher @MatthewLeGod @bigadamsport The FL would be setting a dangerous precedent if it doesn't act. Otherwise clubs can offload huge debts with little punishment Adam Blackmore @bigadamsport @MatthewLeGod I don't know the answer. But your point seems valid about CVA's in general FM Saints Researcher @MatthewLeGod @bigadamsport Club A doesn't agree a CVA, Club B says we'll pay 20p in £ but then doesn't. Club A gets punished but club B doesn't. Seems wrong FM Saints Researcher @MatthewLeGod @bigadamsport Would be interesting to hear what TB or FL thought of the subject. Will u speak to Birch again soon?
-
At least Radio Solent's Adam Blackmore answers my questions.
-
So Birch at least admits it isn't a "ruling" despite what the BBC say. It has been in the Football League rulebook on their website all season that they wouldn't get a points deduction for merely remaining in admin this summer.
-
Skates will not receive further points deduction!

What about a penalty for diluting the failed 2010 CVA with a new 2012 CVA? Question to be made to the Football League here... enquiries@football-league.co.uk -

BBC Solent Sport @solentsport #pompey administrators PKF confirm that Football League have assured Pompey will start season in League One - & without points penalty Expand Reply Retweet Favorite BBC Solent Sport @solentsport To clarify statement from PKF - #pompey will start next season without further points deduction even if they are still in admin .......... Again they are answering a question that has an answer already in the public domain (on the Football League regulations document available to everyone on their website). The Football League rules show that they wouldn't get a points penalty for remaining in admin this summer. I don't know why the BBC and Pompey News think it may have been an issue.
