I didn't say it was, however it is an clear indication that he is highly valued by the management. Championship clubs simply don't spend that amount on players they intend to be back up fullbacks, nor would Fox have joined if that were the case.

Saints haven't spent £1.8m on a left back as a Championship club for him not to be first choice. Fox will be starting very soon imo.

Football Manager 2012 - Announced!
Matthew Le God replied to Matthew Le God's topic in Computer Games
Jack Cork has played in the Premier League and had a very good season in the Championship. Lallana was in the Championship three years ago and had two very good years in League One, he didn't exactly stand out in the Championship back then. He needs to have a good season in order to catch up with Cork. I can't rate players for a game starting in July 2011, based on what you may think he will do by May 2012. I'm in no way saying I don't think Lallana is a good player for this League, I think he will prove to be one of the best players in it by the end of the season. But that is the key point, he has to prove/justify a rating beforehand. His high potential ability gives him room to do that as you progress through your first season managing Saints. -

How is it a year behind? The game starts with you taking over a club in early July 2011, so his rating reflects him at that point. As of July 2011 in real life, he hadn't proven himself to be a top Championship player. He does however have a high potential rating, so he will improve as the season and your savegame progresses. -
What strange logic that is.

Last forum activity for the opening poster was yesterday at 11:13 AM. So he has had the opportunity to update us. But chose not to...(so far)

That was as a League One player, Saints have since been promoted and Lambert signed a new 3 year deal this summer.
-
I have a source that believes Fox is on around £20k p/w If that is true, £25k p/w for Lallana may well be correct.

Sorry, it fooled me as well, as it is labelled as "BBC Radio Solent Cherries Fans Forum Live from Dean Court". Blame the BBC! I would guess it will be put on the local BBC website at some point tomorrow.
-
If you want to listen to it... **Snip** Edit: BBC Radio Solent messed up.

Saints bring in a striker on loan in the loan window that opens next week and closes in November. Crisis averted.
-
His full name is pronounced... Yos Hoy-veld According to Simon Williams from Saints media department. http://twitter.com/#!/MrSimonWilliams/status/109208509501030400

It suggests the total amount (including loan fee) if he is signed in January would be £1.2m, the extra would be £1m not £800k.
-
I think you need to do a little reading of the QPR or Saints website. Puncheon has left on loan.
-
Ah...so now you are making sweeping generalisations on Cortese's business methods based solely on his nationality? I don't like where this is going!
-
A "behaviour pattern" that is also based on rumour and speculation, is it not? Which other deal do you know 100% went the way you think the Puncheon one did? For all you know QPR could have been offering a very low future fee or initial loan fee, it is only right therefore that Cortese would try to raise it. In any case, we just don't know what went on in any of the rumoured deals Saints have been involved in other the last 2 years and it would be foolish to apportion blame without good evidence either way.
-
Why are you criticising Cortese when you have no idea what went on?
-
They can't. The loan window isn't for Premier League clubs to bring in players, only Football League clubs.
-
Emergency loans have nothing to do with players being injured. Anyone in the Football League can make them regardless of the health of their current squad. You are reading too much into the word "emergency". You are confusing the Football League emergency loan window, with when a team outside the window (full transfer and loan window) is allowed in the case of an injured goalkeeper to bring in a keeper on loan. For example when Man City were given dispensation to sign keeper Marton Fulop outside of the transfer window (the Premier League doesn't have a separate incoming player loan window).
-
Did I say it did? I don't think any Celtic fan really knows what he is like. I'm looking forward to making my own mind up when I see him at St Mary's between now and January.
-
And my contention with your point is that...
-
He has only played 4 games at home for Celtic. Most of their fans haven't seen him play enough to warrant anything even close to a valid opinion on him as a player. Those four games saw a 9-0 win, a 4-0 win, a 2-2 draw and a 2-1 win in the Champions League against Braga who went on to be runners up in the EUROPA League.
-
The loan window opens three days before the Forest game.
