  1. - Any decisions on restricting clubs won't come in any time soon. It'll be at least one season away, possibly more. - Cortese would have been aware of this for a long time, it isn't out of the blue and would have plans for it. - Any changes won't effect the amount of money you can spend on infrastructure (at the stadium, training ground or academy). - Saints will have one of the largest turnovers in the Championship apart from those with parachute payments remaining. - Saints may even be able to get round any implemented measures if the Liebherr estate gifts the club money and is turned into equity.
  2. Man City have spent huge amounts on youth development and infrastructure (hence why they will be joining Saints and Chelsea with category one academy status), only problem is it is unlikely many of the players they will produce will make the 1st team.
  3. Forest and Saints will both be seeded and can't play each other in the 1st round.
  4. None of these are possible... The Carling Cup 1st round is regional and seeded. Saints will be seeded and in the southern section.
  5. The club made no mention of the figures in any official statement. Cortese early on did say the club was debt free.
  6. The Mirror seems to think they are "fallen giants" and will be making a £1m bid for a player soon... http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Portsmouth-plan-1m-raid-make-Barnsley-defender-Jason-Shackell-first-signing-under-new-owners-article745715.html
  7. That is a day old, you can guarantee it won't take that long for it to reach here. See post #137 from yesterday further up the page.
  8. Not the most stable of young men... http://www.independent.co.uk/sport/football/premier-league/manchester-united-starlet-ravel-morrison-to-undergo-violence-counselling-2289279.html
  9. As would his wages, unless Man Utd paid a high % of them for the duration of his time at Saints.
  10. A witness for the defence or prosecution?
  11. That doesn't make the tickets easier to sell and would also be profiteering.
  12. It does reduce the cost, you take the price off the amount you paid for the season ticket and it would be easy to sell them to friends/family/work colleagues. As you would sell them for season ticket price divided by 23 games, which gives them a bargain compared to match day prices.
  13. Looks good from what I've seen, in the brief time I've seen him play.
  14. Give the season ticket to friends/family/work colleagues for the evening games and goto the weekend games.
  15. Don't worry Clarky, if Grant Holt can make it, Rickie Lambert can.
  16. Exactly, for example "poor" Pompey have Nugent, Kitson and Lawerence all on huge wages £15k+. I would imagine a number of Saints players had promotion clauses in their contracts that mean they are getting towards(ish) the £15k p/w figure, from the approx £9k p/w in League One. I'd guess Lambert, Fonte and Lallana would be getting near those figures now that Saints are in the Championship.
  17. He is on a plane to Denmark tomorrow for a few weeks of tournament football.
  18. Robbie Keane is a Premier League player for Tottenham (he was on loan at West Ham last season) and most of the others will probably be sold.
  19. I'm not too sure about that, a lot of the season ticket holders around me in the Kingsland struggle to tell the players apart! Of course an awful lot would know who Adkins is through looking at the matchday program or interviews in the media, but I bet you many are unaware of what he looks like.
  20. A lot of Saints fans would probably pass Adkins and Crosby on the street and not realise who they were, let alone the youth scouting team!
  21. Rod Ruddick Chris Welman David Burke All current Saints scouts.
  22. Since the takeover they have announced things like the new head of sales and marketing and other behind the scenes roles.... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2096187,00.html Plus David Burke's appointment as Scouting & Talent Identification Manager was on the OS... http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2060696,00.html
  23. George Reader refereed the World Cup Final, will Cortese?
  24. Still a Championship player though.
  25. Kelvin should hope Umbro don't take any inspiration from the stationary cupboard at head-office like Reebok do...
