Still not as boring as this from last summer... http://www.oldhamathletic.co.uk/page/NewsUpdate/0,,10337~2054594,00.html Imagine if Saints ran with a story like that on the OS! -
Nottingham Forest chief executive Mark Arthur in an interview with the BBC... What kind of saying is that? Well it helps prevent crashes in the future and you stay alive!
-
That is because they didn't update that page of their website during the 2010/11 season and it is the home and away kit from 2008 to 2010.
-
Adam Lallana....
-
Only has him contracted until June 30th 2013 though.
-
No probably about it, the article says... Saints have these games every summer for the reserves/development team/under 18's and people complain Saints aren't testing themselves.

Why do you think there are variations in prices for tickets at St Mary's and pretty much every other stadium? The Itchen/Kingsland centre is more expensive than the Northam because they have the best views of the match overall. It is also why the TV cameras are placed on the halfway line at games and why the directors seating areas are in block 7. Yes, you might get a better "atmosphere" in the Northam, but in terms of a view on the match it is no where near as good a vantage point compared to sitting in block 31 or 7.

I didn't say he didn't, my point was that scoring 10 goals for a relegated Championship team isn't bad.
-
He scored 10 League goals in the Championship for a poor side that was relegated. They wouldn't have been setting him up with many good chances.

If they do get an embargo again for the Ben Haim case, they should stop releasing youth players and be forced to use 16/17/18/19 year olds to make up the numbers in their squad along with the eight players they already have. Steve Cotterill came out with the rubbish last season that it harms the integrity of the competition if they aren't allowed a bigger squad and that the youth players he released aren't good enough. It matters not if they are good enough, they should be used whether it leads to an unsuccessful season or not. What impacts on the integrity of the competition is teams having leeway in the transfer market that they shouldn't.

What are you talking about?

When is the Begovic case being heard? They may have to pay Spurs £1m in that.

http://www.mirrorfootball.co.uk/news/Liverpool-transfer-news-Kenny-Dalglish-given-80million-budget-for-Anfield-rebuild-article746388.html The Mirror can't make up its mind, two days ago they said he has signed for Arsneal and will join on July 1st, today they say he is going to Liverpool. Don't believe them, they haven't a clue! Boy who cried wolf!

Have you forgotten that Walcott is an Arsenal regular, current England player and 5 years older/more experienced than Alex? Why on earth would he go out on loan in the Championship?
-
Did Saints though? The accounts for 2009/10 show no definite date for that to be paid back (if ever).

Peterborough managed to do similar on a smaller scale... http://www.peterboroughtoday.co.uk/news/letters_emails_2_17116/your_posh_say_15_000_season_ticket_you_can_see_messi_for_4_000_a_season_less_than_watching_posh_1_2474285

Depends how the estate of Markus Liebherr puts any money into the club, any financial changes by the Football League may allow the club to still spend his money on players if converted into equity. It also won't limit investment on infrastructure, which will help increase revenue streams and boost turnover, freeing up money to be used elsewhere.

1) You can't say that at this point, with three months of the transfer window left. 2) So what? My point was that Cortese would have known that these plans were in the pipeline for a long time and would have made Saints plan fit them ages ago. Saints would be in a far better position than most to do so in the Championship. 3) I didn't say the club would expand St Mary's in the Championship. What I said was that the club would have one of the highest turnovers in the Championship apart from those with parachute payments. The improvements Saints make to the academy and training ground will improve the club in areas where other Championship clubs won't. 4) Why aren't Saints a big club in the Championship? How many clubs do you consider to be bigger? I'm not saying Saints are the biggest either, West Ham and Leeds United are bigger. You could put together a strong argument to put Saints 3rd or 4th in the league though. 5) Not the only hope, these rules won't include investment in the training ground, academy or stadium. All of which can receive or have received investment that gives Saints an edge.
-
- Any decisions on restricting clubs won't come in any time soon. It'll be at least one season away, probably more. - Cortese would have been aware of this for a long time, it isn't out of the blue and would have plans for it. - Any changes won't effect the amount of money you can spend on infrastructure (at the stadium, training ground or academy). - Saints will have one of the largest turnovers in the Championship apart from those with parachute payments remaining. - Saints may even be able to get round any implemented measures if the Liebherr estate gifts the club money and is turned into equity.

Any club that wants to participate in an UEFA competition has to break even over a rolling 3 year period. 2011/12 and 2012/13 accounts will be used to determine a club's licence application in the 2013/14 season. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-12908466

UEFA are implementing a similar system that will impact on Premier League clubs.
-
Which is beyond the end of the initial "5 year plan" when Cortese took charge of the reigns.
