  1. No chance! You don't even need to go back that far to see it beaten, just go back last season and Leeds United on four occasions in League One beat Saints attendance on Saturday (helped of course by having a larger ground), including over 38k against Bristol Rovers and 36k against Huddersfield. Then if you were to go back to the 1930's to 1970's you will find some huge attendance's even as low as the 3rd tier.
  2. It is currently the 3rd news article on the Saints OS and has been on there since the game finished yesterday. Where have you been looking? http://www.saintsfc.co.uk/page/NewsDetail/0,,10280~2355793,00.html
  3. I wasn't the one that suggested Scott Parker or Shay Given. Nor have I said they are anything other than fantasies never going to happen. Both will probably end up at top 10 Premier League clubs.
  4. I agree with you, on the face of it all of those do seem crazy. Not impossible that Saints wouldn't target younger Premier League fringe players though. But then who would have thought Craig Bellamy would be playing for Cardiff in the Championship this season? Maybe Wayne Bridge would like to follow suit and rejoin Saints in the Championship.
  5. Which players are you talking about? If they aren't getting games in the Premier League then why not? In any case, it is not unheard of for good players/managers to drop a league. Just look at Jose Fonte and Nigel Adkins.
  6. Norwich didn't spent anywhere near £5m. Most of their transfers came from the lower leagues. Saints in the past two years have spent close to £5m on transfers/loans/agent fees/signing on fees. Now they are in a league which gives you £4m extra in TV money each year, larger attendances, more sponsorship, more solidarity payments etc etc.
  7. What is that based on? Certainly not this... http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/13336387.stm
  8. You are probably right. But would be good if it was Willi.
  9. If it is him, would be good if he did get involved. A multi billionaire in his own right.
  10. EDIT: On second thoughts it is probably Les Reed Could the man behind Cortese be Markus' brother Willi Liebherr? It is Willi and Isolade Liebherr that run this company... [video=youtube;fWGENe-GuSk]http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fWGENe-GuSk If it is him, maybe he'd like to invest along with his brother's estate in Saints. Does anyone have any other photos of the directors box from Saturday?
  11. I see where you are going.
  12. He is going to the Euro under 19 tournament.
  13. Yes, in 1896 Saints won 18 games in a row.
  14. Chamberlain's mum... http://audioboo.fm/boos/352005-the-mum-of-southampton-teenager-alex-oxlade-chamberlain-backs-her-son-and-the-club-to-excel-after-promotion?utm_campaign=detailpage&utm_content=retweet&utm_medium=social&utm_source=twitter
  15. It looks like someone in a waistcoat and black tie.
  16. This is lifted from The Sun. The Sun have already this season made up quotes that Saints players didn't say. If you watch the Saints player video of Morgan Schneiderlin he makes no comment about Chamberlain, when exactly were these quotes meant to have been from? I doubt the Sun sent a journalist to interview Saints players after the game, they would just use quotes given on Saints player/to the BBC or just made them up to stir things...
  17. His kids are 18 and 21.
  18. Would you invite someone to your party if they used the national and local media to have digs at you?
  19. Would you invite someone to your party if they used the national and local media to have digs at you?
  20. Not entirely fair as it didn't cost anything to go to St Mary's today. Saint's 22k average in the 3rd tier (with small numbers of away fans at St Mary's) puts their 16k (with large numbers of away fans at Fratton Park) in the 2nd tier to shame.
  21. He has retired and simply wouldn't be good enough to get in the team.
  22. No he isn't...
  23. Looks like a publicity shot from The Apprentice.
  24. Adam signed a 4 and a half year deal in January 2011.
