  1. Yep, need 50 soft Tory seats to go Lib Dem to force the Tories into a minority. Reckon they might get 30+ but it won't be enough. FPTP is the Tories winning card here, LAB/LIB/GREEN will take well over 50% of the popular vote between them and the Tories will rule indefinitely on less than 40% of the vote. nd
  2. Away section at Chelsea was about half-full for the mid week game when Puncheon scored a screamer (Adkin's last game?). What's that? Four seasons ago?
  3. I was there, apparently a record crowd at the Dell 31 and a bit K, but anybody who was at Mick Channon's testimonial will tell u that is fake news.
  4. Hope someone's given Puel the Hawthorns' dress-code, chav casual; shell suit and white trainers, baseball cap is optional.
  5. I think I've seen 4 draws there and them winning twice, I can't remember ever seeing us win there, I'm going and I'd take a draw this time.
  6. Agreed,we sit in Block 36 ,square of the goal and just behind the goal line, i called it as a penalty in real time, Bmth moving fd, Saints going backwards ,fd went off of his feet, feet first!. Either he's been held back,or it's a hell of a dive. Go down your local park now, sprint 10yds ,try and fall backwards with your feet in front of you. Bet you can't do it!
  7. 2-2, neither team can defend, (just hope we can find 2 goals!).
  8. I bought 2 this afternoon, looks from the graphic that there are about 150 left (I didn't count every dot).
  9. Lots of heat, but not much light. I had a quick look last night and unless I've completely mis-read it looks to me like 'renewals' get it at last year's renewal price, and anybody buying a new ST (when that window opens) will get it at that same price? Unless I've hopelessly misread it, it looks like a price freeze for anybody that bought at last year's renewal price, a price cut for anybody that was a first year last-year, and that new customers can join at last season's renewal price? The take-away is that most customers will pay the same, some will pay less than last year, and new ones can join at last year's discounted price. Not many things staying the same/going down at the moment so hats off to the club! Or a canny move by the club (and/or a response to some of the alleged dross served up this season); match-day tickets at £30-£40 a pop to watch mid-table mediocrity will increasingly become a discretionary purchase as the economic winds blow in ... good move to try to grow the core support, particularity the offer of more and cheaper family tkts. I'm more than happy with my offer and will be renewing x2.
  10. Everton's Fraser Forster saves 3 penalties to help England lift the 2018 WC after a shoot out victory, while Southampton's Joe Hart can only watch from the bench and rue a season that's seen him lose both form and confidence after his surprise switch from Torino. England GK coach Dave Watson declined to comment.
  11. Genuine question, don't know the answer, are Spurs ST's going to be cheaper or dearer in the new stadium? From what I've seen for the most prime positions/best hospitality they are creating another layer(s) of premium pricing above what they already have. But for the ordinary punter? They will tap into their existing waiting lists and fan base, so will they be financing the new stadium (in part) by raising ticket prices per unit, or will the increased supply of seats lead to them reducing prices? I would expect their 20k waiting list will mean they can move over and charge more, win win! Nothing like us, we don't have 'any' pent-up demand for STs on tap, I would suggest that any increase at SMS would lead to cheaper prices overall (?). Take this at face value, the cost of an extra seat might be 3k (quoted from up thread), I would suggest that seat could raise an average of £500/year (that figure might be too high based on occupancy/ratio of full cost to concessions etc). On those, totally hypothetical figures, you are looking at a pay-back of minimum 6 years, possibly up to 7-8. Clearly there are a lot of variables in the mix but would a 6-7 year pay-back make business sense? The hardest part of the equation seems to be finding bums to sit on the seats.
  12. My Boufal jury is very much out - clearly a very good player in there somewhere but he appears to come with injury and attitude baggage attached. All ifs and ands now but maybe it wasn't the best idea to sign a player who is injured and can't play for a few months, it can't help their settling in and bonding with the group.
  13. Can't see it will be easy to get rid of FF, big contract, big wages, and can't see 'anybody' wanting him in his current state. If he's prepared to take a big pay cut he could get a gig at a Wolves/Forest/Brum type of club, for me he's finished at PL level mentally and physically. Unless the England GK coach can work some magic, but there's little sign of that.
  14. 'Interestingly' this was reported as a done deal in the Brazillian media in the first week of December with a view to him joining when the window opened. Generally, why doesn't a deal like this move a player on straight away, rather than at the end of a window? Would have thought the selling club would welcome getting him off the payroll and getting some funds flowing asap. Saints playing hard ball on the price? Or just not wanting to commit a month's wages when there was no pressing need for the player? (bar a 2 leg SF v Liverpool and being dragged to the outer fringes of a potential relegation situation). Either way, all's good now!
  15. Bump, for all those on here who had 'no idea' that there could/would/might-be a light show for Markus.
  16. I don't have FB and I knew. I'm surprised people who spend most of the day on here (claim) they didn't know, it was in the Tifo thread and discussed by several people on here as soon as we got through to the final (don't know how to link a thread). What's slightly much more worrying in the times in which we live is how many people are prepared to randomly group-join-in with something they know nothing about! Hands up, my missus joined in, then said what was that for?
  17. Great stuff, we were prob a bit 'premature' getting it out a good 5 mins before the teams came out so prob not seen on telly. But that might have been a Wembley type decision? Hopefully Kat saw it, liked it, and lets it out more often. Would be great to see it passed around SMS for big games.
  18. Did anyone see the two young lads who tried to jib in about 3 o'clock right round on the far right hand side of the concourse of the lower tier? They came in through a side turnstile close by a wheelchair, they clearly didn't have tickets, they got to the second line of security and were challenged by lady steward, they put up a very weak bluff about being with someone, the lady wasn't having any of it and called for assistance and tried to block them, one bottled it and gave himself up and one broke clean through and sprinted through the concourse and I guess out into the bowl as he came in at pretty much at a dead end. Took them a good half minute to react before a couple of stewards hot footed after him but he was well away by then, wonder if he got picked up via CCTV or if he saw the game? Anybody any tout tales? Did prices fall at KO time? Saw some Mancs and touts having a right set to just under the tunnel as we came off the tube at about 14-00.
  19. Fantastic day and really proud of the team. So many 'if onlys', the offside goal, the injury to VVD, the too-late signing of Caceres, the lack of any cover in goal but let's not dwell on that. So many positives and after the disappointment of the Europa campaign good to see us back to our vibrant attacking best, flying the flag for the non-top 6 clubs and giving ourselves another tilt at the best-of-the-rest title. Stayed over last night and drove home this morning and Talk sport (yuck!) very complimentary, someone on Jim White's show had us down as being in a completely false league position and on our day a match for anyone ... what a difference having a top line striker makes! Loved the atmosphere, stood with a great bunch of young and old lads at the back of the lower tier right behind the goal on the right hand side and we didn't stop for 90 minutes. Fair play if you were in that group, top support. I was the old loon with the sash shirt and the middle aged wife with a camera (she loved it too!). Was a bit weird seeing a lot of the lower tier seated though, and gutted for people who couldn't get tickets and then to hear of the empty seats, I reckon I could have sold 20 of them on my own.
  20. I booked Sunday and had a very prompt reply (in the affirmative), ref 123 if that means anything?
  21. It always comes down to the blo-ody coefficient! Links to Ripping Yarns/Barstenworth Utd.
  22. Yep, think MLG can put his stadium expansion pics away for the foreseeable, we're more likely to yo-yo into the championship at some time in the next 5-10 years than see regular crowds of c40k at SMS.
  23. Not sure where this leaves anyone going fd, eg not for 'this' cup final but for next season and onwards. I have 2 STs, and bought two Europa home bundles against those two numbers. Mrs Sandwich was 'persuaded'/panicked into getting a membership for Milan away when those tkts then later went to open sale (with a purchase history) despite the club saying they wouldn't. I should have put the EL home bundle in her name/membership, put the second EL bundle in my other son's name, put the away Milan tkts in his name and then paid his membership if/when it goes to 4 games for a cup final! This selling of retrospective memberships has been a total farce. Feel very sorry for anybody that has stumped up £25 for a membership in Aug/Sept to support the club/get away tickets/move themselves up the queue for cup final tkts, used it to go to 3 homes and 3 aways and has then been trumped by someone who has bought a cheap Arsenal tkt and a membership.
  24. Fake news, Wembley's penalty areas aren't 20% bigger than those found on regular grounds.
  25. Dover are at home tomorrow v Wrexham, it's £15, there's no booking fee, it's (fairly) safe standing, the beer service (has never been) quick, the kit's OK, it's 3pm kick off on a Saturday, ...........see you there?
