  1. Damn predictive txt.
  2. Quite a few on here ....
  3. / Read somewhere on here today that Boufal made the most tackles in the game. Carp formation to go 4-3-3 against Spurs 4-5-1, unless we were going to go full on press/attack, as indeed we did for the first 20 mins. 4-2-3-1 would have been better, Not sure where the Boufal hate is coming from? He's looked decent so far and not his fault he's playing in a pretty meh team. Suggest you maybe take your dark glasses off tomorrow?
  4. Worse case scenario you can cheer yourself up internally with these five gems: 1 There are Everton fans who think they will be signing VVD in this window, hell, even Koeman thinks this too. 2 There are fans on here who think Schneiderlin wouldn't get into our current side. 3 It's not Wycombe on a Tuesday night, the coldest, nil nil-est game I've ever seen. 4 We are on a sustainable 5 year path and if we have to take the odd 0-1 at home to West Brom so be it. 5 We were born with the greatest gift; a different accident of birth or a mix-up in the maternity ward and we could be skates. Keep it real folks, 1-1, Fonte.
  5. Correct.
  6. Having seen it once in real time, the position of the players etc, I called it as holding, it was well outside the area: free kick outside the area and red card - would have been my decision. Having now seen the video - I think I got it right!
  7. 4-5 years you say? Everton to be top 10 ........ tick Saints to be top 10 ..... why not? Heisenberg to be banned ..... unlikely .... why not?
  8. Fonte to Benfica innitt?
  9. He doesn't look too bothered about it, I reckon the photographer is holding up a copy of Ron's most recent pay slip.
  10. Watching his kicking on Sunday he was probably aiming at a completely different part of the mural.
  11. Boro 0-3 Liverpool adds some perspective to our recent 0-0 against the dippers. Stoke a Bomp a Spurs h WBA h What's a par score for that run of fixtures? 4 points/5 points/6 points? We have one down, 1 pt and 3 to play, we could get almost anything between 1 and 10 (obvs need to score a few goals if we are to take more than 4 points!).
  12. That would be first favourite for me too. Second favourite is a non-starting squad player from Germany/France/Spain for about 4.0m. A player we have all heard of who has scored 20+ goals in the PL ..... 25/1. (Ullaoa would be decent in front of Tadic/Boufal/Redmond, come on Claude, embrace the 4-2-3-1, we have the players to play it.)
  13. How was it? Massively over-hyped is how it was. The football seemed to be an adjunct or secondary to the whole UEFA 'experience'. Who wants to go to football on a Thursday evening anyway? Looking at the 6 games we played in the round you would have to say you would see more excitement and more quality in 6 PL games. Thoroughly enjoyed both Inter games, the rest of it was all a bit meh. Hopefully the rotation has given Puel a good look at all his options and we have enough left in the tank to get through Xmas and then consolidate in the league. Does make you wonder what the point of qualifying was when we went out with such a whimper.
  14. Agree, he was the single worst thing about the whole piece, embarrassed us right across a whole continent. Reckon he/it was a skate on a wind up (fair play if it was!)
  15. Time for a re-think and a back to the future 4-2-3-1 Usual across the back Romeu + one ... don't have any great preference for JWP/Hoj/Clasie .. they can all do that job Boufal and Tadic plus Davis Long up front Would for me be the way to go from here for home games especially, 'rest' Redmond, he looks physically and mentally shot, he's not good enough at this stage for the role he's being expected to play. Bin the negative 4-3-3, hoof it in from wide stylee.
  16. Moronic suggestion. Like something a very bad kids team would do. But exactly what happens when you elevate one special player above all others. Of course he's good but he can't do it on his own. Maybe he should run out on Sunday with his underpants over the top of his shorts? I've not read the match thread but he looked seriously ****ed off after the game...
  17. According to today's G. the payment(s) were paid 'in the last three years' which is just extraordinary if it's true.
  18. #meltdownsRus
  19. Has been excellent all season, top quality 3rd CB.
  20. Forster sweeping better tonight? He has had more touches outside the 6 yd box tonight than in pretty much any game I've seen.
  21. Or maybe the taxidermist the way he stuffs'em?
  22. It would be gutting to see him go for less than Stones but guess that's the English premium thing. Cheers to ADutchSaint above, sort of what I was asking yesterday, looks like people expecting 60m-70m are going to be disappointed.
  23. Martina is better in the air, and that goal, and he appears to be available more regularly than Cedric. Cedric has had two of his best games for us v Liverpool and Everton, after a long period of unavailability. Cuco's not been as good this season as he was at times last season. Cedric's had some pretty meh games for us too. Horses for courses, they can both DAJFU, in reality, to move on, we can probably do better. Compare Bertrand/Targett/McQueen, I would say we have overall more strength on the left than the right.
  24. I remember, as a fresh faced 14 year-old listening to the semi-final draw, on the playing fields of Hamble, on a Monday lunchtime, on a tranny; and Derby will play ... Manchester Utd ...... we didn't hear the rest, cue mass bundle as Southampton will play third division Crystal Palace, but I digress. Nail Cedric and Cuco together and you'd have one decent right back, maybe breed them and, gender permitting, we'd have our next big seller in 20 year's time.
  25. Of course! Duh!!
