  1. Whole lot of conjecture there, used to validate a stereo-type. How could you possibly know what they are thinking? This is the reason why footballers live their life in their own bubble. What do you want them to do? They celebrated on the pitch didn't they? Do you want the Chelsea players to be balling their eyes out for losing a league game? FFS.
  2. This depends if he is on an AST, or some other student type contract. If an AST then as you say, will just roll over. Also, don't pay any fees to robbing agents if this is the case - the contract doesn't even need to be changed!
  3. In fairness to this article, Bridge must have put in the worst display I've ever seen anyone manage in an England shirt v Croatia (Wally with the brolley night). That's quite some statement thinking the dreadful performances we've put in over the years. He was truly gash that night, and was surprised he got further caps. I would have booted him out of the team for good, on the basis of that performance.
  4. Agreed. I would say all those on the list are wholly unacceptable. I guess Kids names can be done tastefully, but why?
  5. FFS. I want to see Cortese necking pints like Mike Ashley. If he wants to be original, he could just do lines off the back of a programme...
  6. From Barcelona to Roma to Reading. That's some fall...
  7. I'd rather have Sam Fox (c.1984) at LB. Younger viewers can look those norks up on Google...
  8. Mahwhinney f*cked Luton in the ass, dry - with a run-up. I still don't understand how more clubs who have been shafted by the FL, haven't come out and said something. Bournemouth, Rotherham, Luton and Leeds have to feel aggrieved at the Cheats' preferential treatment. I 4 one, can't believe Ken Bates has said f*ck all.
  9. Is now I agree, but he was decent. When Lallana consistently scores more than 10 goals a season from midfield, in the Prem then you can come back and we can have a debate about it...
  10. As much as I don't like the **** that is Kevin Nolan - he's got a fair greater claim to this, than either of Adam or Rickie. There must be a plethora of other players that have played in the Prem too, not even thinking about before that. Marcus Stewart was the 2nd Top Goalscorer in the Prem one year (top English goalscorer) and never got an England cap...
  11. That is an excellent point. Someone should point this out to #factlessallen. I'd be interested to hear the bul**** he comes out with...
  12. Hardly a huge market to keep a company going that has a frankly, massive and expensive ad campaign. They rely on the divs, the lazy and the desperate. You can put them in the same bracket as Wonga.com and BrightHouse etc.
  13. It's a load of ******, because you are expecting him to remember the finest details of a job that is packed with incident from nearly 8 years ago. Do you remember everything from your job from 8 years ago, if questioned by a room full of journos? If I'm living in an odd world, does that mean you think we played better under Wigley? Should he have stayed in charge then? The accusation that he didn't care in that season is also ******, although in the 2nd season I would agree. Although he did have Woodward hanging over his shoulder then, which would've annoyed any manager. Take off the rose-tinted specs and maybe you can calm the snarling, irrational hatred. Like I said, who cares? We've had a great time in the lower leagues, we should be thanking him.
  14. LOL. That's a massive load of ******. As for Redknapp when he was here, I thought he improved us really and the players did let him down. Had he started the season, there's no way we would have been relegated. Lowe is more to blame for sacking Sturrock after two games and putting Wigley in charge. The following season, OK, he acted like a nob and jumped ship to the skates. But, personally I don't blame him for our relegation. Anyway, I really enjoed our Lge 1 and C'ship seasons, so don't care too much about our relegation now.
  15. It's called confirmation bias, we all do it to certain degrees...
  16. Loving that terminology, like tossing an empty, crushed up fag packet in the gutter...
  17. Anyone know a decent pub to watch the game in Ulan Bator?
  18. Comments about his appearance are a bit harsh. The guy has Parkinsons! Clearly not good enough at Prem level. Did enjoy seeing us stuff City 3-1 away though...magic.
  19. Does this have to come up everytime Bale (or any other young player we've sold) gets linked to a move in the papers? Yawn.
  20. Well, I turn up to every home game wearing the full kit (under a long mac), so I'll be ready if called upon...
  21. I have been mascot against QPR, both away (1986ish) and home (1990). Won both games 3-1 and 4-1. Matty scored a hatrick in the home game. Always liked going to games against them...
  22. To be honest, I think there is something psychological in it. It's human nature to take your foot off the gas when you think you've reached your target. The players may think conciously or unconciously - 'The gaffer's won MOM because we've been playing so well'. The Mgr will also undoubtedly put some praise on the team, even with the caveat of 'we've won/achieved nothing yet'. It's easy for players to fall into the trap of believing their own hype... I'm glad we won so few on our rise up...
  23. I agree with you on your first point, and it is what is fundamentally wrong with English football. I'm hoping (maybe naively) that a combination of the Homegrown Player rule and FFP will curtail the influx of foreign players after a few years. Allowing our younger players a chance to develop in the game. It's going to take a while though... Also to be fair to the clubs. English players just cost a lot more. How much would Charlie Austin cost? £5/6m? A gamble for someone who's soared up the leagues and not played at the top level. Borini has and done well in Italy, so 'appears' less of a risk. Two completely different players, I know. Also, Balotelli was a bargain compared to Carroll. Look at the fees paid for Henderson & Downing. You could even argue the £12m we got for Chamberlain was ludicrious for a Lge 1 player. Until there are a lot more quality English players, they are going to cost a fortune and we are going to be stuck in this vicious circle.
  24. She needs to be a regular in the studio. Would make a good addition...
  25. Before online dating was super popular I reeled in a woman at work who was always winding people up. I devised a dating email address sent a few 'contacts' through and started mailing her from a contact. Of course I was loaded and used to play for Aston Villa! Lol. Even got her phone number, but couldn't take it further than that.
