  1. Thanks for your replies. I don't think I have to worry about any scams, as the Surveyor (from the Mortgage co.) has flagged it up. However, the Estate Agent has recommended using Insite! Cheers for flagging this up. I will def try and get some other quotes.
  2. I've just had a Home Buyer Report done on a house I'm buying and some damp has been reported due to possibly an insufficient damp course (only on one wall). Is there anyone local on here that can give me a quote, or anyone that knows anyone that can do it in the Southampton area? Cheers...
  3. TBF, it just highlights how low they have fallen. That's three separate times I've seen a draw being championed practically as good as a Cup final win. Firstly with Appy declaring getting a point against us was his best result. Secondly, at the w/end when Mcleod sent the fans 'into delirium' for getting an equaliser. Now this... You have to think that they have lost so many games in the last 4 seasons, getting a point is something to celebrate...
  4. Errrr. After Strachan, Chris Nichol is arguably the most successful Saints manager of recent times - finishing 7th in the top league. He was a victim of his own success really and we played quality football under him, although not great defensively! If he ever came to the club in any capacity, he should get a f**king good reception - no question. As for Sturrock, really? He undid all of Strachan's hard work - particularly with fitness work with the players. He's massively to blame for our relegation, more than Redknapp. As for Pardew. No abuse, no praise.
  5. If you're down this way, you really should check out McCluskey's and New Yorks on a Fri night - it's changed massively from those days of 501s, Ben Shermans and Kickers...
  6. Having been there, I know Fratton Park is a dump - however, it has to be worth more than £2.75m? How much did we get for the Dell, when we didn't even need it? £5m, over 10 years ago? I know the land must have had the planning permission to build all those flats, but still, their ground has to be worth more than that.
  7. Seems like a waste of your time to me. Why not spend the time and money on someone who's back-door you might be able to smash in?
  8. Ancelotti won the League and FA Cup double! I concur with the other posters, B'mouth should be challenging at the top with their wage bill. Apparently they are covering Barney's contract fully - £14k a week. That's a heck of a lot of cash for any Lge 1 club, nevermind one that has gates of 5/6k.
  9. What the old one, where you had to share a dressing room with all the teams playing?! Was interesting post-match if there'd been a particularly fesity game...
  10. This is really getting boring, isn't it? Surely even their fans are embarrassed by this? We sold out games in League 1 and you still didn't hear this level of bleating about what a 'massive' club we were from players.
  11. I've been saying this for a while. I can't believe that an ultra competitive, money-making industry like football could afford to overlook all these talented young coaches on the basis of their skin colour. Players certainly aren't as they have proven that they are as good as white players. As Jamo says, it seems less black players go into coaching and the few that do demand that they are given jobs, on the basis that if they aren't - it's racist. There must be 1000s of out of work, 'white' coaches that aren't good enough - it's an ultra competitive field. If coaches are good enough, they will get a job - irrespective of skin colour. All IMO, of course...
  12. Buying a house very soon, just wondering if anyone has used any online conveyancing companies? Have been quoted £599 just for conveyancing (without all the normal fees), which seems a bit steep? So looking at other options. Anyone have any good/bad experiences of just using an online company?
  13. A couple of seasons ago, saw a bloke in front of me keep checking the Saints score on his iPhone. Wasn't checking the team or stats, just the score - bizarre.
  14. Agreed. I suggest that the OP poses the question: what would Jesus have done? TBF, I reckon he wouldn't have been in this position, as he would have laid the carpet himself. His old man being a carpenter meant he was probably decent in trades and he also proved himself handy with nails too...
  15. Does Phil play golf then? Learning a lot from today's thread.
  16. Indeed that would mean only approx. 1.3bn in the whole world, weren't watching us! I'm sure there's still over 1.3bn without access to a TV, or at least satellite...
  17. Lol. I wasn't advocating that (as an aside we don't pay for blood in this country anyway, do we?). Was pointing out that they could call on skilled fans like 'Terry the Builder' to help build them a new stadium. It's not like they've used up all their goodwill with local traders, is it??
  18. This is pretty much what Union Berlin did. I was talking to a guy in Germany about them, and the phew could learn a lot from their efforts. They basically built a stadium on fan donations and fans actually built the stadium in their spare time! This is from the following link:
  19. If they were 'real' fans, wouldn't 60 pledges to the PST be better than chucking £60k into a hole? That's 20 days payment for Birch....
  20. To be fair to Tyler, he said 'the Premier League don't take kindly to messages [in general]'. He don't say anything about politics. He obviously didn't know what it meant, but neither did I - as I'm not a muslim.
  21. I'm surprised people like Bates haven't got more to say about this. Or fans from teams like B'mouth, Plymouth, Rotherham, Luton etc - who were all shafted by the FL. Particularly B'mouth as they are playing them on Sat - you'd think someone would pipe up and say there should be equal treatment.
  22. He used to play for Wednesday in 90s and did raise a few laughs from us as school kids...
  23. You've been listening to Barry Glendenning! I completely agree though. It's not a protest.
  24. Is that for the land though? Or, is that completely separate? I thought he had £2.5m secured, plus the land which was claimed was worth £4m. He did this deal in exchange for about £20m of debt. I could be confused here. But any figure owed to him is conspicious in its absence...
  25. What about Gaydamack's secured debt? Didn't he have about £2.5m secured from the last CVA? What happened to this, as no-one is talking about it anymore? Did he take the land in exchange?
