Was that a nippy comment on Solent about Saints player there?
-
Big moment there. Sun is shining into the press box. Commentator wishes he'd brought his sunglasses or a cap with him
-
Qualifying about to start on BBC1. And it looks like it might be a wet one!
-
My housemate when I was at Uni was (and still is) from Cov. I remember listening to it when he was in the house.
-
If its any conselation I thought you were in your 20's. I remember listening to your radio show one afternoon (least I think that was you)
-
Yup. Fecking Idiots.
-
Anyone else playing online? Thought I'd give it a go. Still got my full million.

Tough one. She may come round to it given time. If she only works part time you've always got the option of her going up to Scotland for long weekends etc and of course you can always head down south yourself. My Mrs always complains about me going away to work but we always seem to cope (at the moment). Phones and skype etc are of great help - and you're on the same timezone! If it doesn't work out can you head back down south? I'd say go for it!!

What does the Mrs think? Has she got a job which she could do in Scotland/Could she also get a transfer? Distance relationships can be difficult so something to think about there. One thing I have all ways been told is never turn down a promotion! Downside is that it's Scotland (but at least its not Wales!) OOO

2nd Practice complete. "Vettel ended up in first place (1:11.968) ahead of team-mate Mark Webber (1:12.072). Alonso was third, Hamilton fourth and Massa fifth. Kubica (1:12.882), Button (1:13.206), Heidfeld (1:13.222), Rosberg (1:13.333) and Schumacher (1:13.346). Meanwhile, Anthony Davidson says he would be very surprised if the stewards do not look at that Schumacher/Alguersuari incident. It was only a brief coming together, mind, with Schumacher brushing across Alguersuari's front wing." (BBC Sport) Watching the Schumacher-Alguersari incident on the red button it wasn't a huge thing it was just strange that Schumi would overtake and then turn in at the very end of the session. Anthony Davidson mentioned break testing during the commentary.

First practice has finished. Practice 2 on the red button/bbc sport website from 1555. Qualifying from 1500 (BBC1) Race coverage from 1500 on Sunday (BBC1) From BBC Sport "And that's your lot. Vettel is quickest (1:12.328) and he is followed by Webber (1:12.810), Hamilton (1:12.845), Button (1:13.267) and Kubica (1:13.370). Alonso looks ruefully at his car as it is cleared from the track. Here's pit-lane reporter Holly Samos: "Alonso's engine was at the end of its life. They said it was going to go any second. They had already tweeted the engine was going to be changed between the two sessions."" But of course the interest is what happens on Sunday. Again from BBC sport.... "FIVE-WAY BATTLE EXPLAINED 1 ALONSO 231pts 2 WEBBER 220pts 3 HAMILTON 210pts 4 VETTEL 206pts 5 BUTTON 189pts If Alonso wins in Brazil, he will be champion unless Webber is higher than fourth If Alonso is second, he will be champion unless Webber is higher than eighth, Hamilton higher than fourth or Vettel wins If Alonso is third, he will be champion unless Webber finishes in the top 10, Hamilton in the top four and Vettel in the top three If Alonso does not finish on the podium, it will go to Abu Dhabi Button can only stay in contention if he finishes first or second but is out if Alonso finishes in the top six or if Webber is in the top two Vettel must beat Alonso on track to stay in contention" Surely the teams must now be backing 1 driver each unless their lead driver falls off the island. For me I'm hoping for a McLaren 1-2 (as usual) OOO

So had we not taken Forecast we could have been in line for 25% of £50million according to this http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/football/gossip_and_transfers/9157259.stm

Very good. Made me laugh.

(Appologies if posted elsewhere) I see the main page has been updated. Have to say it looks much much better!! Well done and they seem quite well written as well! OOO

Not got any red lights. Eveything seems normal apart from when you try to start up a game. PS3 may have to be a posibility!
-
Bit of an annoying one really but my x-box 360 has now decided to stop reading game discs. It informs me that either the disc can't be read or that it is a DVD meaning that I can't play any games. I've tried quite a few discs but nothing seems to be working. Has anyone had this problem or got any suggestions? Cheers OOO

Great result! Nice to finally be in the top 6! Sign OC up to a long long contract NOW!!!!

My Mrs and her famliy are from Yorkshire. They all seem to think it is great up there (even though the Mrs now lives down south.) They harp on about it being God's country etc until I point out that everytime I go there it rains and that I can't wait to get back south to the "English Riviera". Shuts them up for a while until someone makes "a brew"

Anyone else watching this on channel 4? Having not seen "lost" or similar I gather this is the latest big thing from the states. Seems quite good so far.
-
I'm after a large (1tb minimum) external hard drive to back everything up on for when I go away. Has anyone got any recommendations on what to get and where to get it from? Cheers OOO

We are mainly electronic charts as well now. Take it the subs ECDIS are GPS driven then? Do you still have any paper charts? We tend to keep them mainly for overviews and reference.
-
The tracing paper one has always confused me slightly. The report stated that tracing paper was on the chart to prevent students marking it and as a result it obscured vital information. Now I'm not a submariner so I don't know how they position fix (TDD can no doubt advise) but on a surface ship we allow trainees/cadets to fix on the chart as it is the only way they will learn. And we only fix in pencil so it can be rubbed out on completion of the passage. Again I don't know, but I imagine it can't be to different on a sub? We only use tracing paper to correct charts and even then you can still see through them. We use British Admritalty charts so would be interested to know what charts a sub uses and how different they are to surface charts.
-
Possibly. Or even 000. Never really thought about it to be honest.
-
Not sure it's trashed. Reports say it encountered "difficulties" but an eyewitness seemed to think it had grounded. In shipping terms that could be very very bad or not too bad at all (depending on how fast it was going, what it is grounded on etc). MOD claiming it is ok and that no-one is injured and there is no risk to the environment. Where's Dell Days at the mo?

Me and the Mrs use this site a lot in London. There are some quite good deals on there. Got one for a 3 course meal with drink for £13 the other day. Very good it was to! There was one on monday for a meal, drink and cinema ticket for around £15. Like I say keep an eye on it and there are some good ones. Another one I've used is "Taste of London" which gets you some great discounts on meals (Think you can get the card for free or £1 for a month or so)
