  1. They've had 3 ex-Southampton managers in the same time-frame too...
  2. Delap best throw-in taker in the world and we never even knew it.
  3. Throw enough shit at a wall and some of it will stick. As long as the new owners are there to finance it, Newcastle will become a major force regardless of this ridiculous cluthing-at-straws notion of geography somehow being a factor in attracting talent. It is inevitable. Get used to it.
  4. But then surely that problem is then passed on to the selling club? Any replacements they are looking to sign will have inflated asking prices as the selling club will know the buying club has excess funds sloshing around due to receiving an over-inflated price. With their newfound wealth I think the last club that will worry about that kind of scenario will be Newcastle.
  5. Absolutely love the bloke. Reality is he had fantastic backing to get us out of League 1 but you can't take away the achievement of getting us out of the Championship at the first time of asking. Have no doubt he would have kept us up in his first season in the Prem too. Met him on a couple of occasions and he's been nothing but the perfect gentleman too.
  6. Niemi Clyne Richards van Dijik Bridge Schneiderlin Lallana Mane Le Tissier Bale Shearer Jeepers there wouldn't half be some goals in that side.
  7. Not a great deal out there but my choice would be Lampard.
  8. Hell of a shift lads. Well done. Be great to start picking up a few wins now though.
  9. I tend to agree with this viewpoint. Easy to look a good keeper when in a shit team with a defence that is allowing you to be peppered constantly. Loads of examples of keepers who looked decent in similar circumstances.
  10. Decent enough business. Still can't help thinking we could really do with a bit more experience and know-how in the middle of the park to play alongside Romeu. Still think the side looks pretty powderpuff.
  11. You perves know about behavioural advertising don't you? It takes in to account your search history on various "websites" and then advertises towards those preferences... you dirty buggers!!!
  12. We should probably pick up two "De Bruyne" types... y'know... just in case one of them gets injured. #announcedebruyne
  13. Are they the same people as his grandparent's parents?
  14. Hopefully this puts an end to the ridiculous idea of paying Brandon Williams £65k a week (plus loan fee) to be our back-up full back.
  15. Exactly the sort of player we need to be signing and making a success of. This needs to be our blueprint for success. Attracting the youth players at the top clubs who are disillusioned with not progressing at their club and have the desire to improve. The fact this guy is apparently a Southampton lad too is a bonus of course but I'm glad we seem to be cottoning on.
  16. There is surely no way he is actually on £65k a week? That sort of money for a 3rd choice full-back is outrageous even by Man Utd's standards.
  17. "Deadly rivals". Thats a laugh. Barely a rivalry to speak of between Liverpool and Everton. You have countless examples of families up there where one son supports Liverpool and the other supports Everton and they all sit in amongst each other on "derby" days. Name any other rivalry in the country where this is the case.
  18. Jimmy, if you keep stabbing me you're going to kill me.
  19. If he's available at £10m or below, I would take him. There is a player there. Lost his way as a bit part player at Liverpool but as a regular starter I'm confident you would see improvements over time and I'd have him in the team over Redmond any day.
  20. Fantastic servant to the club. Thanks for the memories, Ryan. Best of luck.
  21. Just because you can sign a random kid from Gremio who turns out to be perfectly cut out for the Premier League at age 18 and is valued at £80m within 2 years on Football Manager, doesn't mean you can do it in real life.
  22. A number 10 type/Redmond replacement who is able to play on the left would be my choice. Another goal scoring striker as back up to Ings would also be nice. Good luck in finding one happy to come in as back-up though.
  23. Anyone know how best to go about getting a dodgy stream these days?
  24. Agreed I don't think much money will be thrown around this summer. What an opportunity Newcastle might have if this takeover goes through with little competition for signings if their prospective new owners decide to throw some of their cash around.
  25. I have a signed ball that I’m sure what have Bleidelis or Chala’s autograph on it, possibly both.
