Massive question marks over his temperament and overall bottle though for me. It’s a big gamble for anyone. Physically he’s got everything required but mentally I’m not so sure.

I think a more accurate summary is he's probably most clubs 4th, 5th or 6th choice and will only be moved for once all other avenues have been exhausted. As with most of our players who will be gone by the end of the window. Can't see many of them being a first choice pick.

Dean Richards on a free and selling 2/3 years later for £8m is pretty decent business I’d say. In todays money that’s probably be around £20m.

I get extremely nervous when we spend north of £20m on a player. For us to do so, that player has to improve the side significantly. Not blend into the dirge that we already have, which is basically what he has done. It then just becomes a valid excuse for the leadership not to invest any further in the squad.

How much did this lad cost us? Is there anything he’s offered us so far that Tella, Edozie, Walcott or even Djenepo couldn’t have done? If there is, I haven’t seen it. Him and Onuacho have got to go down as two of the most expensive, pointless panic buys in our history. Absolutely dreadful.
