  1. He would certainly compete for a space with Ross Stewart unfortunately it would probably be the Physio's room then again we do like signing a crocked player!!
  2. Maybe we should employ a tactic of old and buy a Portuguese mate for him as we did with Imants Bleidelis for Pahars and Kleber Chala for Delgado
  3. Birmingham at away is my bet for first game
  4. Monday January 27th 1992, I was 9 years old day before my dad's birthday, for his birthday we were going to watch Saints v Man Utd in the FA Cup. It was a big deal as it was a school night only being 9 and it was Man Utd. We went to pick my mum up from work and as we we're waiting for her Kevin Keegan parked next to us he was picking his daughter up from La Sagesse Convent School in Romsey. We spoke to him for a bit and he asked me if we were going to the game and what I thought the score would be. He predicted a draw and that we'd win in the replay. Even as a 9 year old I thought he was being optimistic. We drew 0-0 on the night and won on penalties at Old Trafford the game where Tim Flowers ran the length of the pitch after saving the deciding kick (from I think Ryan Giggs)
  5. I was talking with a fellow committee member of a grassroots football team up here in the West Midlands last night who is a Watford fan. He'd heard rumours that Cleverly had been linked. I asked him of his opinion. He loved him, thought he was/is going to be a top manager and in his words "too good for Watford" and deserves better than their merry-go-round of managers. Took them on a 29 game unbeaten run last season which I didn't know. Just passing on a Watford fans view. Before anyone jumps on the attack.
  6. Can't be any worse than the shit we've been served up this season. The Wednesday fans I know all rave about him, or at least did up until our interest back in January.
  7. I don't want it but I have a feeling that Rohl will take a job in Germany and we'll end up with Gerrard with Lallana as assistant.
  8. It's not a out justice and fairness though is it. It's about what shirt your wearing. We all know that had that been a Saints player on Salah they'd have been walking. I would also hazard a guess that if the first penalty incident had been Van Dijk taking Smallbone it wouldn't have been given.
  9. I still think Ings would score more than Armstrong & Onuachu if he played same number of games. I thought Archer would have done better than he has. Maybe he hasn't settled? Can't see Onuachu wanting to play championship and we know Archer and Armstrong score goals at that level so worth keeping unless we're just looking to restock altogether for next season.
  10. Carlos Alcaraz to Everton - this one makes me a bit sad another player that Martin didn't like. Think he'd be alright under Juric
  11. No, we did this with Selles after the win at Chelsea in is first game and that was as good as it got.
  12. 1/1 on SkyBet but 16/1 elsewhere 🤔
  13. Mondays off!! that's another 500 sideways and backwards passes we could be practicing #MartinOut
  14. Living up here in the West Midlands I obviously know a lot of Villa, Birmingham, Wolves, West Brom fans etc I've never really bought into this "we're a laughing stock" mainly because I don't think other fans really give too hoots. When we were relegated last time no-one up here cared. However, more and more recently I have these fans asking "why do you keep on playing out from the back when you keep making so many mistakes you're asking to be relegated" and "why is Martin so pig-headed"
  15. I've been told it would cost us £14m in compensation to Russell Martin and his coaching team if we sack him. Not sure how accurate that is but source is from within the club
  16. Genuinely don't know that answer to this, hence the question. Did Sheff Utd & Blackburn play BBD out wide like we are or did they play him through the middle? when we signed him I thought it would be as a number 9 type forward. He certainly doesnt look like a natural wide player.
  17. Great post @Francis1947. I totally get where you are coming from too. I have never gone into that start of a game wanting a defeat but there have been times during games (especially under Nathan Jones) where the game has gone and I've thought maybe if we conceded another 3 or 4 the manager surely wouldn't survive this!! I was close to that point Monday. I do believe the 2nd half masked the damage to a certain degree. Martin baffles me, I want to like him and obviously want him to do well and i'll always thank him for giving me Wembley experience with my son and seeing the pure joy on his face at full-time. However, Mondays team was a step too far. Starting with no strikers, you're not Pep and we're not City/Barcelona and don't have the quality of players who can interchange positions like that for it to be able to work. 5 strikers on the bench because "he wanted to be aggressive and attacking with his subs" pointless when you're 3-0 down. I manage my sons U15's if I turned up on a Sunday morning and said "we're playing without strikers today lads" I would get all sorts of flack from parents and players. He seems to have a good relationship with the players, thats certainly the narrative of the clubs media department but at the same time they dont seem to be playing for him at the moment, more like rolling over and dying on monday. As i said on another thread if he's not willing to change his philosophies he's got to go, because there's only one way we'll be heading,. Do I trust the board to make the right replacement decision......i dont think i do
  18. I do actually quite like RM but I remember saying to my son last year that if we do get promoted and we continue to play the way we do with no plan we'll be slaughtered in the Prem. I was thinking this would be against the likes of City, Arsenal & Liverpool not bloody Bournemouth. The insistence of playing one way and not learning our lesson, last night teams selection of playing without strikers!! does he think he's Pep? this has annoyed me now to the point I think if we want a slim chance of staying up we need to change now. I'm not sure i trust the board to make the right call in terms of replacement which is another matter.
  19. So 2 days ago people were calling the club out for signing an injury prone keeper and mocking our medicals, now Bijlow has failed his medical people are calling the club out for not signing him 🤔
  20. But we also don't know he's "EPL Quality" because he's never played that level. It would have made me nervous as hell to pay £20m+ for him. £25m rising to £30m is a big risk. Not saying he isn't "EPL Quality" just that we don't know..
  21. SSN reporting we are "in big" for Ramsdale on loan
  22. Purple Gloves - Purple colours worn by Roman Emperors = Roma + Goalie Gloves = Goalkeeper from Roma = Rui Patricio Is this how this thing works?
  23. That's interesting living in the west midlands all the Baggies fans I know were banging on about him for most of the season. Fickle now he might be going. Not sure he's what we need tho!
  24. I see The Sun has us linked to Ramsdale. Shame it's the sun as probably just lazy journalism
