Look lads, I hope this is not too late but DO NOT EVEN ATTEMPT THE RINGWOOD / SPUR ROAD ROUTE. IT IS IMPOSSIBLE AT RUSH HOUR TO DO IT IN UNDER TWO AND A HALF HOURS from Poulner Hill. Best to go down the A35 through Christchurch and then via Littledown (Hospital / Tesco) link to Wessex Way. You can turn left at the lights at Littledown crossroads and make your way into the back of the Dean Court area and avoid the Spur Road /Wesssex Way trunk road altogether.

Southampton vs Chelsea Post Match Throw away
Charlie Wayman replied to Secret Site Agent's topic in The Saints
We were beaten on the day by a better team and below par performance by at least two key players. Loss of concentration is a fact of life when physical energy is used up and our midfield trio especially were running on fumes for the last 10 minutes. Chelsea's energy saving way of playing ensures they can perform for 90 minutes. They knew that yesterday and kept plugging away in the same old way believing that goals would come inevitably. It's not fair to blame one player for our failings or the ref even though he made two costly cock-ups for us. -
Alex Chamberlain available in the summer?
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint Charlie's topic in The Saints
We need to look forwards not backwards. If Arsenal think he is expendable than what good is he to a team who aspire for the Champions League as a rival to Arsenal? Even if the lad considered coming back here which is extremely doubtful there would be too much baggage on both sides to make a success of a his return. -
We had nobody else on the bench. Tadic is not a holding player and Austin was finished at 60 minutes. Pelle probably had been told beforehand he would not play yesterday but Long's injury wrecked the plan and he had to be used. I suspect the plan was to use Long and Mane for the last 15 minutes.

Do Saints improve players better than other teams?
Charlie Wayman replied to Cumbria Saint's topic in The Saints
For sure we have one of the best coaching staffs in the PL right now so players should improve. Sadly that lot who jumped ship and head for White Hart Lane are probably the other. -
How long have you supported the Saints? I guess you know the answer.

Excellent. Thank you.

Are you suggesting we might swap him for Mane? Just asking.

Does it really matter on here if the message gets across? -

Me too, if Forster gets into the team Hart will find it hard to oust him on current forms where Hart looks anything but 'class' and Forster seems nigh on impregnable. The rest of his comments sound like the uninformed guesswork that most of rest of us resort too when rumours start flying. -
The arrogant b* of the premier league have been angling to rid themselves of the FA Cup for years and now they've got their way it seems. Death by a few cuts. Our U 21's might win it next year.

Poch wouldn't leave Spurs for Chelsea or Man U
Charlie Wayman replied to Wes Tender's topic in The Saints
Once a rat always a rat, he'll sell his sole to the highest bidder and take his mates with him. Could go to Spain rather than England where the language will be less of a problem for him. -
Mane will start and Tadic on for Davis or Targett for the last twenty. Pelle won't get on this week especially if Terry is out.

Post-Match Reaction: Swansea City 0-1 SAINTS
Charlie Wayman replied to Saint-Armstrong's topic in The Saints
Yes but fair do's, Long missed a few as well so Austin was just as likely to score as Long. -

We are mathematically safe from relegation for another year! -

Thoroughly deserved 3 points. Swansea never looked like getting anywhere near our goal today. Credit to Koeman and credit to all the players. -
At what point would you walk out of a Saints game?
Charlie Wayman replied to kwsaint's topic in The Saints
Tickets in a grandstand to watch the British Grand Prix at Silverstone cost anywhere between of £260 and £350 and it lasts for only 90 mins yet 130,000 people turn up to watch. Every year people complain about prices and say never again but its full every year. Saints regularly attract 32,000 crowds today even though prices have almost doubled since St Mary's opened in 2001. Are they the same 32,000 people? I doubt it but it proves that tickets will find an audience whatever the price if the performance and the opposition are appealing enough. Sadly the realists are right, fan protests count for little these days. As more than one observer has mentioned before how long before stadium crowds are CGI'd onto empty stadiums to create the illusion of a full house? -
You are quite right, RK seems highly risk averse when it comes to team selection. The kids lose both ways, if we are winning and fighting for a top six finish then he would argue we need our best players in a settled team; if, as we are, struggling to avoid a relegation battle then it would be too risky to take a punt on a young player. All we'll end up doing is ensuring that in future highly talented kids won't want to come here as they can see they would have no hope of ever making the grade - Koeman style.

It's far too easy to suggest he gets no service, today he was almost static. Does he not know how to shake off attackers or is he getting tired and lazy in his old age? Looks increasingly like a passenger, hardly touched the ball today is it an Italian thing of not liking to get his boots dirty? -

This. Coaches can't heap all the blame on the players after such and ineffective and inept performance. I feel sorry for all those loyal travelling fans who have to make their way home in massive traffic jams with no reward at the end of it all. At least most of us can just log off at the end and kick the cat. -

Stoke remain the dirtiest team in the PL yet Clattenberg still gave everything to them when in 50/50 tussles. How can we lose to such a bunch of worthless tossers? What a miserable evening this is going to be and all the women will say is "why do you take it so seriously, it's only a football match". Bloody hell, when will we ever win easy? -
Sherwood is the new Redknapp, tells it as it is and wears his heart on his sleeve. No political correctness with him and despite all the sceptics and Sherwood- haters on here is set to become one of the great English managers.

You could say the same about us, we didn't exactly treat him well after his successes in the JPT and building our successful team including finding Lambert.
