  1. Who knows? End of the day you have to go on your own opinion based on what you see and there were quite a few times when he was a bit passive to me. As you say, it could be that's what he was told to do. I'm not overly against him and the experience would fill a gap but, free kicks aside, he doesn't excite me much either.
  2. I thought the Matt O'Riley one was a good link. Not sure how realistic it is but looks a really decent player.
  3. I always thought that JWP had a natural inclination towards a risk free sideways pass rather than do anything adventurous. Last season we were at our worst when we did that so I'm not sure JWP is that much of a natural fit (unless the plan is to bore the opponent to death). Obviously a decent player and I wouldn't complain if we did sign him (which we probably won't) but he's not someone I'm overly bothered about either.
  4. In my seat, New Forest East, they're predicting a swing to labour that reduces a 29% conservative majority to just 2.2%. I'd be fucking amazed if that happens. You could put a blue rosette on a pig and it would get elected here.
  5. Thanks for explaining my statement to me. Much appreciated.
  6. Yeah, agree about the fiscal drag element of pensioner tax. Problem is Labour have also signed up for it.

No, they're back together and mostly do Butlins and other holiday camps with the BNP headlining. The far right nostalgia tour has been sold out for months now.
  8. I don't really know much about the Man City case but did watch a video where the impression I got was that Everton, Forest and the others were easy to spot (it's in their accounts) whereas the accusations against City and Chelsea are that they've cooked their books which is obviously more serious and potentially criminal. It's also why the investigations are taking so long - they're cases that hold a lot of jeopardy. Could be wrong on that, seems quite complicated.
  9. Typical TV debate and won't change any minds. Thought Sunak did better than I expected initially but then came across as a cock by constantly interrupting. Starmer needed to shut down the 2k tax thing quicker and remind everyone who had raised taxes to their highest level in 70 years. Seems pretty clear Labour aren't going to make any grand pledges but also needs to be more positive when asked what Labour would do on stuff. National Service proposal is an open goal even Che couldn't miss - needs to double down on that too. I guess Starmer is never going to be a brilliant orator and Sunak is an irritating prick. Doubt I'll bother watching any of the others.
  10. Sounds like some weird fantasy politics game and can't really see it happening. Would probably be the nail in the coffin for more moderate Tory voters so that 35% would probably look more like 25%.
  11. Apparently Trump is complaining that some of the witnesses on his side were "literally crucified" which hopefully gives the judge some ideas when it comes to sentencing....
  12. Don't live in a zoo?
  13. So the Tories want to bring back national service. Proof if needed that they’re fucking mad.
  14. Grown man in a 13-14 year olds shirt - got it, shouldn't be too hard to spot. I'll look out for you.
  15. Yeah, this.
  16. Yeah, that's what I do. Annoys me when the first one comes out and have to wait a couple of months before I can binge it. True, there's no "water cooler moments" (stupid phrase but there you go). I think I watch less and less linear TV as time goes on. It's really just sporting events and news now.
  17. Streaming services that release an episode a week. F*ck off! That's one of your advantages over linear programming - watch whenever you want. Except the new stuff - we'll drip feed you that for no apparent reason. Twats.
  18. I hope SKY interview a fan after the game who tells them how much they're not looking forward to a season in the premier league. If you're not a big 6/7 supporter then it's pretty crap. That said, you can't not want your team to win and I'll be hoping we do win. As for who is favourites out of us and Leeds - flip a coin, nothing in it.
  19. Just booked off the 5th July from work. Don't want to jump the gun but no way am I missing the possibility of watching people like Rees-Mogg and friends lose their seats.
  20. They never admit it. I've found an easy way to identify them though - they're the ones coming out with the "All politicians are the same" line.
  21. There’s a book by Tim Moore, “Another fine mess: Across the USA in a model T Ford” where he talks about exactly this. He did it in 2017 just after the election and only went through red counties because he wanted to understand why people voted Trump. He generally found Trump’s supporters to be friendly, helpful and nice but largely ignored and felt the more liberal coastal states considered the fly over states ignorant and stupid. You can argue whether that’s actually the case but it’s certainly their perception and democrats will need to counter that. Personally think Trump is doing much of their job for them by being a liability, chuck in abortion and the republicans are probably not helping themselves.
  22. Got mine and to be honest it was pretty painless. Granted I did get someone else to do it though.
  23. Can someone clarify whether offside is calculated to the accuracy of a toenail or a pubic hair? There seems to be a lot of conflicting reports.
  24. Thank god we've still got JWP eh? Was worried we might have lost him in the summer.
  25. No, but I'd be interested in what an improper bar billiards table would be like. Probably similar but with Tourettes would be my guess and I'm up for that.
