  1. Todays calculated risk on signing the players we need (before getting rid of the driftwood), are as likely as not to be tomorrows driftwood. That's exactly how you end up with a bloated squad. Don't get me wrong, in an ideal world I'd be shifting on far more players than we have so I understand your point but I don't think saying fuck it, lets just sign some more players and hope we manage to shift the others out eventually is the answer.
  2. So just to be clear, you think we've got too much deadwood in the squad that we've overpaid for but the solution is to bite the bullet and buy more players?
  3. I like you. You so funny.
  4. I owe you an apology - I'd got confused with Donley and Charlie Kelman who was on loan at Orient last season. You're right, Donley is much more of a midfielder.
  5. Was at work so couldn't watch the game but on the subject of Archer he strikes me as a player who will score a decent amount of goals if he's given chances. If we don't create any chances then he may as well not be on the pitch. I don't have much of a problem with that but we need to sort out creativity.
  6. To be fair to Saints, they're probably still knackered from that 9k run last week.
  7. Not playing a recognised right back or right wing back is a bit odd. The other thing is I would have thought up front we'd start with either Stewart or Downs.
  8. Doubt Liverpool will be in for him. I thought he looked OK but he's barely played any senior adult football so I'd see him as squad player at best.
  9. Aaron Martin.
  10. Isn't Donley more of a striker? I watched the YouTube stuff and wouldn't have classed him as a creative midfielder although looked like he could play a slightly more withdrawn striker role.
  11. Castellon thrashed QPR six nil early on too.
  12. Weird, I just assumed they both had temperamental old cars.
  13. Yeah, I still expect him to go but glad he's there and taking part. If nothing else the team will "click" better going forwards and the whole team will be a bit more cohesive.
  14. Definitely think a strongly worded letter is in order.
  15. Yeah, could have been. Armenian fella I think.
  16. It does make me wonder whether something has happened on the midfielder. Quarshie was pretty much day one, Downs was fairly obvious and linked early on but there hasn't been much in the way of links for the midfielder.
  17. That makes no sense whatsoever. Hair colour and height are visible and obvious, autism often isn't and therefore the decision on whether to share it or not is entirely up to the individual. Anyway, I'm calling bollocks on the whole thing - I suspect Tyler hasn't had a diagnosis and it's probably pointless speculation.
  18. Nice strawman - never said it was anything to be ashamed of. Point is - not your decision to share, is it?
  19. I'm sure they'll be glad you're sharing it then.
  20. I like it although only having stripes on the bottom third of the back looks weird.
  21. Based on what exactly? That he failed to settle at Chelsea when he was 16? That doesn't make him autistic.
  22. Fuck! Was really hoping we'd be in for him.
  23. Interesting career so far has Xavier Mbuyamba, has been at both Barcelona and Chelsea but hasn't had the best of luck with injuries. Was out for ages with a torn miniscus whilst at Chelsea and when he moved to Volendam they discovered he had a heart issue and sounds like he's got defibrillator fitted. He's played at right back occasionally too. if you're into lazy comparisons then fill your boots as he's been compared to VVD. Kind of player I'd have expected us to be looking at prior to signing Quarshie but not so much now unless we're really going to be shedding loads of CBs soon.
  24. The ability to deflect people from wandering into my way.
  25. Yeah, they've got a good manager and seem to have recruited fairly well although losing Sainz and Sargeant (assuming they go) will be a big loss. For all their recruitment so far, they've not spent much more than the amount they got for Jonathan Rowe so it's not like they've broken the bank yet either.
