Yeah, good idea, probably does deserve its own iconoclastic thread.

Obviously subjective but I found Apocalypse Now to be overrated and one of the most boring films I think I've ever watched. It's become one of those sacrosanct untouchable films that everyone must consider a classic but I can't stand it. It's based on Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad and that's just as bad. Duvall was a great actor though.

Had a good old innings and leaves a decent body of work. Everyone will bang on about The Godfather and Apocalypse Now but Days of Thunder beats them both hands down and he was great in it.

Agree, movement was good for his goal. We haven't had strikers that thrive on crosses for what seems like years - certainly can't remember Armstrong or Adams making many near post runs. It was noticeable against Stoke that for the Azaz goal we had two players racing to get on the end of a cross. Hopefully Larin is similar as we've got enough quality on the wings to get the balls in.

I have to be careful not to come across as a Trump supporter but I see his point to an extent on the halftime show being in Spanish. You'd expect a big flagship national event like the Superbowl entertainment to be in the official language of the US and, despite there being 50M Spanish speakers in the US, that still leaves over 250M who don't speak Spanish. That said, I didn't watch it, don't really care about the Superbowl and have no idea who Bad Bunny is so I'm willing to let it go if it annoys Trump that much.

Playing devil's advocate, they have tried to sign Liam Delap at least a couple of times and I suspect they thought both BBD and Downs would be capable of playing that role too. Obviously hopelessly wrong but, you know, it's the thought that counts and all that.

27M for a player who hasn't scored more than 5 league goals in any season. Probably market price but that seems mental.
-
Ross Stewart? Transfer Markt has him down as 22 scored and 3 missed. Definitely scored a few for Sunderland anyway.
-
10M is a pretty good price for 28 year old who is decent at this level and hopeless at anything higher. I kind of feel the same way I did about Che Adams - I'm not that fussed if he goes but on the flip side I've got no confidence we'll replace him with the same quality let alone anyone better. Would also feel like an admission that our season is effectively over (unless we got dragged into a relegation scrap).

One of the things polling has shown up is that a lot of potential reform voters have reservations over of a lack of experience so the theory goes that bringing in experienced Tories will rectify that. Not sure it will and, as you say, they're tainted and can only really demonstrate "bad" experience. It'll probably also damage the appeal of Reform as a genuine alternative. Personally I'm quite looking forward to the in-fighting they're famous for; Jenrick, Braverman and Zahawi didn't join to play second fiddle for long.

Not that I use the word but isn't libtard an amalgamation of liberal and retard? So saying libtard retards is like saying liberal retard retards? You can't even get insults right.

He'd probably have been more receptive to Joe Kennedy at the very least.
-
He's about as far as it's geographically possible to get from Eddie Howe. That's avoidance on a massive scale but fair play to him.
-
Not really that relevant these days either, especially at the higher levels. Historically has been an issue though and I remember talking to the ex Pompey keeper John Milkins when he used to run Pot Black above the old C&A in town. He was desperate to become a mechanic when he retired from playing and went round various garages effectively offering to work for free just to get some experience but no one was interested. So I guess players would be at a bit of a disadvantage trying to get a "proper" job when they're starting 15-20 years after everyone else. Probably why many of them used their capital to run a business or run pubs. Anyway, completely off topic and for the most part I agree with you.

Bloody Argentina got another good draw in the world cup.
-
Yeah, despite being a big lad, he's not really a physical player, or one that often gets on the end of crosses either. To be fair to him he's pretty good at linking play and, as you say, he can finish but I think a lot of fans would get frustrated with him. Not surprising but more suited to a possession game than anything else.

finish a sentence if I could remember what I started talking about?

What's a nuptie?

Larios at a lower level? Is there an under 5ft league then?
-
Yeah, linked in the summer. One time wonderkid who got a big move to Monaco but hasn't done anything of note since. Doubt there's much truth in it and looks proper gash now. Edit: Ignore me, I'm thinking of Willem Guebbels.
-
But he didn't play in the championship? Edit: Forgot he played against Ipswich but not like he really had many minutes and that was in the middle of the whole transfer saga.

Yeah, but apart from that........

I see this quite often with Trump apologists but I could turn it on it's head and say frankly I'm amazed that some people can look past the fact he refused to accept the result of a legitimate democratic election and incited an insurrection. The US was Mike Pence away from having a dictator - that's unbelievable. Even if I was further to the right on the political spectrum, I don't think I could justify an argument that effectively started with "But apart from that........"
