Good statement. I'm happy and very relieved Adam Lallana and Luke Shaw are still at the club. Realistically they need to stay for Saints to go to the next level. The board has not caved in and I think most of us would have wanted new strikers in this Summer.

What good will come from the board listening to Adam Lallana. It is solely in the hands of the board if they wish to sell Adam Lallana. If they accept a bid then it is up to Adam to decide if he wishes to talk to the other club or he wishes to stay. There is nothing to talk about in the interests of Southampton FC. The board shows backbone and the forum finds that also unacceptable.

Agreed. It must also be very difficult to communicate with the players collectively at this moment. Individually yes, but is Blackmore suggesting the board should send emails or make telephone calls to players to advise on strategy and future planning. Just one other point. Who was in charge of the scouting network that found Lovren, Wanyama, Clyne, Steve Davis etc NC was chairman sure, but maybe Mr Reed might have helped a little bit. Maybe he knows what he's doing and has a backbone to make the tough decisions in the interests of Southampton FC.

Last summer I watched all the training sessions at Saints training camp in Austria. It was clear to my Dad and I that RL did not really fit into the system that MP wanted Saints to play. The Saints system requires fast closing down and Rickie just isn't that type of player. However in the end MP adapted the system to fit RL. While I am deeply sad that Rickie no longer plays for Saints I can understand the sale. I am still optimistic for next season. Everything hinges now on getting the right Manager in.

If the Fee is £9 million then this is good business. If the fee is £4 million then I am disgusted. Still a very sad day if Rickie leaves.
