My daughter is currently fund raising for the Crohn's and Colitis UK charity (doing the Bournemouth Half) and using the Just Giving site, she had to enter a target when she started and had no idea what to put, being a bit conservative she put £150 and got that with the first 3 donations, and most of the family have not donated yet, but we will of course.

Why would that be a problem? Given we only have 20 players for the BPL, why would only being allowed to have 23 for UEFA be an issue? You can still play as many u21s as you want. In any case, if by some pure chance we qualified for Europe don't yu think we would take that ino account and perhaps sign some more players. If you think we could support BPL and Europa League with the paper-thin squad we currently have then you are a little deluded my friend. We don't really have enough for the BPL as we demonstrated last season between November and January.

You don't have to have 8 home grown. But for every one under 8 you lose a squad place, as someone else said you can have a maximum of 17 non-home-grown. Hence Chelski have a squad of 20 because they only have 3 home grown players (Cahill, Terry and Fabregas). Likely therefore that the Chosen One will have to play some of his youngsters this season whether he likes it or not. Still he does have 51 registered under 21s to choose from. Maybe Kurt Happy Zuma will get a game. Likewise Spuds could only name 23 because they only have 6 HG players (would have been just 5 if we had signed Townsend). As a result Assou-Ekotto was omitted from the squad, which makes his future career rather limited until next year - he may still be eligible for the Europa League.

I agree with the first part, but fail to see how the squad is stronger. I'd be interested to know how you think that the squad has been strengthened. A few injuries or suspensions like last season and we will be threadbare again. The squad is still painfully thin and would not be up to a EL campaign. The only area where we might appear stronger is GK, but that depends on Boruc playing a part as backup, maybe he will maybe he won't.

Can you let us know all the details of his contract. You know for sure that Hull are paying his wages, in full? This is nothing to do with wages. The wage bill for (just about the) smallest squad in the PL must be relatively small. Is that 15 players out since the end of last season now (not even counting Tadier).

he's often shown what he has, apart from Tadic he is (was) our only truly creative player. Even if its coming on from the bench he gave us something different, and often it was exciting to watch. But there are some who can't see it. Still I suppose it will reduce the number of posts from Austria.
