Good thing having lots of talented English players, it means we don't get too disrupted during international breaks.

When we already have the best MF partnership, what we need is backup/competition. We were poor this season when Cork was unavailable, and have been quite lucky that both have been almost ever present since. Imagine if one (or heaven forbid both) were unavailable long term due to suspension or injury. There are places where we are quite thin on the ground in terms of adequate replacements for our 1st XI, LB and RB for example, but we don't really need to find significantly better that what we have. Its not like any of the players in these areas are getting on and need to be replaced, they are all young and will improve.

Please no, we don't have squad for Europa League - time and again the Noddy competition costs teams dearly, income is not worth it, we would really struggle in PL if we had to play in this silly competition and we would be playing competitive matches in June. We have to skip this hurdle and go straight for CL.

Why is playing City, Chelski or Liverpool seen as a bad thing for these teams. They are easy fixtures, after all we beat all of them, so can't be too hard. :-)

Rangers to win today please, they are no threat to us, and want to see a bigger gap open up. Don't give a damn about saggy chops.

Saints 2 Reading 0 - Post Match Reactions

Red you are absolutely right, we were poor in the first 20 minutes or so, and were hanging on, our defence looked ropey, we were panicking, and we could not string 2 passes together. After that we seemed to gradually take control and they began to lose heart and in the end it became a matter of how many we could score. We were far from our best today, but did more than enough to win. -
FFS Trousers!! Happily scrolling through this thread and up comes this picture of the witch. There should be a health warning on such pictures. No need for this in future please. There are some things that should be forbidden on public forums. Can't we stick to nuns or something.

Are you Lawro in disguise? -
Ask Stuart Gray, WGS was watching from the stands, not many complained then. In football **** happens, life goes on.

To compare MP with low-lifes like Judas and Redcrapp is almost as big an insult as to call NA Atkins.
-
Looks like he is watching Boruc and someone else at the same time. I don't recall NA being cross-eyed when he was our manager.
-
Don't think he even does that. He makes some comments and then completely contradicts his comments with his prediction. Does it time and again. Yet he is seen as some sort of expert pundit. No one really cares but its just amusing to see how bad someone can be and get away with it.

We used to live in shoe box in middle of road. Tell that to kids today and they won't believe you.
-
Suarez + 15m would do it. He may be a cheating little bastard but I'd take him, and he would do well with Gaston.
-
Hope he doesn't get it, usually kiss of death.

I was one of that throng. Stamford Bridge as well, but not behind the goal. Carrott singing about Saints? He was a Brummie fan.
-
And still, however momentous people cannot spell his name.
-
Of course, and we would still be struggling under the Dark Lord instead of going into admin and being purchased by a multi billionaire. Thanks Twizzle.
-
Of course there are, and the Cult of Cortese are picking the team.
-
Breaking into the Top 7 (i.e. finishing 7th or above) in the next season or two is not too far-fetched. The issue is then staying in the PL when you have to compete in the Europa Noddy League and need two full teams to do so.

Good luck trying to find such an animal. Outside the old fogeys of Terry and Ferdinand, England is not awash with good CBs at the moment. Cahill is good, Lescott, who else? Why do we need an English CB anyway? Never had a problem with Claus and Killer at CB. Yoshi and Fonte are perfectly good CBs for the PL, Jos is decent cover, and Forren, well the jury is still out until we see him play more than a couple of U21 games (one of which at least he looked ordinary apart from his goal). Stephens will be knocking on the door soon, looks a decent prospect in the U21 games I've seen.

He demonstrated during his run in the first team that he could teach both Boruc and Davis a thing or two about kicking.

Who is attacking (or defending) the club, certainly not me. I thought it was only the WUMs and trolls on here that thought the world of SFC was black and white and that you either attacked or defended the club. In reality 99% of those left on here do nothing of the sort, but can actually see that things are done little differently by Saints than by most other clubs at this level. Managers knowing inside out every player transfer deal down to the last detail is a way of the long past, and no longer relevant in the world of international transfers. The transfer committee almost certainly agreed that an attacking midfielder/creative player would be what Saints needed, without necessarily naming names, or perhaps there was a list of 3 or 4 potential candidates. NC then went and did as was agreed and negotiated with a target. Do you really think Adkins was upset when he found out that Ramirez was looking to be on his way. Like many others he had probably seen him play in the Olympics and seen a burgeoning talent, or perhaps he had seen him on one of the football manager games and noted his stats were quite good. Whatever, NA is not the straight talker that some would suggest - he wasn't lying, but being economical with the truth, his stock in trade. As I said a world of difference between finding the type of player that manager identified and choosing the team on a weekly basis. Still if you want to believe NA knew nothing about Ramirez then you are welcome to your opinion, if you cannot see that there is more than black and white then so be it, in reality there are many (50 at least) shades of grey.

Fair enough, never noticed that in all the games I've been to this season (most of them).
-
LOL. Of course it won't. Who compared them anyway (where is this so-called debate)? How could anyone compare two managers based on a match between their current teams when one will be in charge of his second game, the other has been in charge for 3 months. Compare manager's abilities long term not on a single match.
