  1. I think we would need to expand the stadium for this. But then we are a massive club so should happen soon.
  2. Maybe its an exchange deal, we get rid of Fox and get Harding back (as backup to Shaw, Riise and Cole).
  3. Think it might be better to get Ashley Cole as backup for Shaw as he is looking likely to leave Chelski.
  4. Where is there any suggestion NA had any doubts. The post says NA had his input (he is part of the committee) and as a result NC entered into negotiations with Molde. Reading that would suggest that NA gave his blessing, not that he had doubts. But then I guess I am not a negative like you.
  5. This ^ Seems a lot of people cannot see the difference between a dive and simply falling over. JRod made no attempt to cheat or con the ref. No claim for a pen came from him or anyone else nearby. It was just an out and out co k up by Halsey. Annoys me when the boy line aker tries to make out J is a cheat cf wit ones like Suarez.
  6. Not a pen, not a dive, Jrod as surprised as anyone that pen was given. Bad mistake by Halsey, but who gives a flying ****. Even Hansen admitted we deserved win. For once we got a decision.
  7. Let's hope they score at the right end in that case
  8. Cesar may be a massive improvement on our keepers, last time I saw him he was massive, made Boruc look like Posh Spice. Has he lost weight?
  9. Just shows all of us Saints fans up here in SN11 are not stupid enough to use Twitter. It suggests there are none here, yet I know of at least 8, not bad for a small town in Wiltshire (Actually I do admit that I do occassionally look at Twitter, but its a bit embarrassing).
  10. Really, is there any evidence that such people actually exist, or is this one of those made up fantasy groups of people like the Cult of Cortese?
  11. Why does everyone suddenly believe word for word what the Echo has reported? Read the article again, there is nothing in it of substance, the phrases "we understand" and the like can be interpreted as "we have no fecking clue but need to write something to fill up the page". They may be right, who knows, but as a source the Echo ranks along side my insider knowledge for worthiness.
  12. But we are only allowed to name 3 over age outfield players on any team sheet in the Barclays Premier U21 League (and 1 keeper), with the competitive league set up this year it is not just a case of giving games to players who are not in the PL team/squad, opportunities are very limited. The days of the development squad and playing friendlies are no more.
  13. They are not either/ors. Fitness of the body leads directly to fitness of the mind. Ability to concentrate depends to a very large extent on not being tired.

    Captain

Captain Morgan, has a certain ring to it. 100 proof that he should be the skipper.
  15. This^ If you recall when WGS was here, we were super fit due to his preseason work, and we hardly ever conceded near the end of each half. We do not have the same level of fitness in terms of stamina that we did in those days, whatever NA may say or think. We have a different type of fitness. Tiredness results in lack of concentration. Question though, ignoring Saturday, are we still conceding late goals, I know we were early in the season, but frankly we are conceding very few goals period in the lasy 6-8 weeks. The other factor that influences late goas in the 2nd half is late substitutions - whenever we take off SRL our style of play changes, we do not have players that can hold the ball up like he does, and so the opposition get the ball back up our end much more often and quickly. Obviousy taking SRL and others off is probably due to tiredness, but we definitely suffer when we have to change our style/formation late on.
  16. Factually incorrect, I used to go to games in those days with a banker (amongst others), he later became Assistant Secretary at the Dell and lived in the Milton Road next door to the ground. Don't know about gay people or women though - not sure I knew any of either of those groups in them days
  17. Same season we conceded 5 to them at home (though we did manage 3 in reply). My first game, was it 66/67 or 67/68 (my In That Number has been hidden somewhere while I decorate the study). Big Ron, Chivers and a kid called Channon up front. Channon kept falling over and the crowd treated him a bit like some do Guly today.
  18. This^ We have no choice about how many tickets we allocate to the away team.
  19. What about his injury? We know he lives locally.
  20. We could play Aaron Martin, filled in well for Fonte last year. :-)
  21. As said they were very good against Arsenal, I didn't see the game yesterday but assuming he took some, I wonder whether he was instructed to take different type of corners given that Lambert was not playing. His corners against Arse were some of the best seen this season, quite a revelation.
  22. Only problem I have with this story is trying to understand why Rickie would fly to Newcastle, when Newcastle were down south the following day. A quick drive along the M/A27 and he could have met up with Pards and not aroused any suspicion.
  23. Odd thread, that cannot be answered.
  24. Which may be what is happening if Lallana is out for longer than was thought.
  25. Well yes, NA is keeping quiet about transfers. Self evident really. He may surprise us, then again he may not. He may even be surprised, but maybe not. Its fun isn't it, not knowing what is going on or if anything is going on, or not.
