  1. Given Fonte was on the bench last week, there shouldn't be much doubt about him surely.
  2. Well, this is a fun thread, trolls feeding trolls. Norm for this board these days unfortunately.

    Redknapp

Lets not forget his other top achievements: 1977 Soccer Bowl losing finalist (but his team did lose to Pele - no not that one, the real one) 1989 Relegated Bournemouth 2005 Relegated Southampton 2013 Relegated QPR (To Be Confirmed) No idea why you are comparing him with Moyes, since he is a Scot, and clearly has not won much, nevertheless his consistent finishes with an underfunded Everton are quite remarkable. But really Redknapps's managerial achievements while not exacvtly rubbish really are no great shakes in a managerial career that spans nearly 40 years. He has some short term success but is never able to build on it because he falls out with the chairman/runs out of money/can't buy players/ - take your choice.
  4. I thought we were top. We are the Gooners youth aren't we? Or maybe we have now diversified and become more of a generic London Youth, supplying all of the top London teams :-)
  5. The old "we need to blood kids for the future" argument, specious. You don't blood youngsters for the next World Cup when it is in a year's time. You play the players that you think might have a chance of winning the bloody thing, i.e. your best players. If you carry on blodding youngsters for the future when do you say enough, this is our best team and go for the win. SRL is not too old for England, and probably won't be even for the next Euros. he may be too slow, but thats a whole diffrent argument (and in any case is pace really a must have for internationals that are usually played at walking/yawning pace).
  6. Think the point is that if he is out of contract and undergoing rehab there is a likelihood that he will get overlooked. There are dozens, maybe even hundreds of pro footballers that are left out of work each Summer, even ones without injuries, so his prospects don't look too hopeful. In the past Saints have sometimes been magnanimous and kept players on until they recover, but I doubt we will do so in RD's case.
  7. Thank you Mr Mariner. Mr Poll says otherwise.

Don't think Wet Spam will go down, but hopeful we can go above them, which would suggest we would be safe as well. They are on awful run, but there are enough teams who had a much worse start that will not be able to overtake them. We have to play them of course, 3 points would help and may put us above them. Manure are safe from relegation by the way. WE lost our chance to win the league a couple of weeks ago, but 2nd is still possible LOL
  9. 2 goals against Wet Sham many also be a help for us, 3 points behind BFS and we have to play them at home (on the down side any chance of GB having a rest when Spuds play us)
  10. Tres bon. Good to see the train picture has been replaced as well.
  11. No you weren't the only one, even Shearer said it on MOTD last night.
  12. Why on earth would you drop Yoshida? Forrent hasn't figured because he isn't good enough, simple as. The coach sees him in training and decides this. have to say I think he was a panic buy, and Jos covered well enough while Fonte was injured, now Fonte is back Forrent becomes 4th choice. Looked uninterested and slow when he was warming up in recent home game, as if he knew he was not going to get a game.
  13. Apparently he had to manage us with one arm tied behind his back and his legs tied together. Seem to recall he was actually allowed to bring in several players, nearly all of whom were utter gash. I really don't know what Messa is on about.
  14. To be fair, you could be quoting Pardew, who said the same (about us). He also said we were as good as or better than Chelsea and Metal Lurgies and that we were outplaying them. He also said they (Nouveau Chateau) would not have beaten us 6 weeks ago. Pards is a decent bloke.
  15. Why would we need a poll, unless it is a choice between Fox and Foy?
  16. Clyne on the left and Richardson on the right. It worked well the one time we did it.
  17. The rule is the same as it has always been, "deliberately handling the ball". There are no references in the Laws of the Game to "ball to hand" or "hand to ball" or any of the other cock that some of the commentators/pundits come up with.
  18. No he doesn't. Shaw makes Shaw look good, because he is good. To be fair to Fox, the last few times he has been called on he has been OK (nothing more). But the problem is that he causes our other defenders to have to cover for him, because his positioning is awful. Makes Jos or Yoshi or whoever is playing on the left of centre to look poor as well.
  19. Don't think there was much of a decision to be made though, I'm sure they didn't take Shaw off for a laugh.
  20. There was a bit on the TV news about this earlier in the week, Hull playing Huddersfield away if I recall correctly. Two clubs with some of the lowest football banning orders in the country and who are not really rivals. People had already bought tickets and made arrangements (its on Easter weekend I think). Football Supporters representative claimed it was the first time in this country this method was being used, which I thought at the time was ******. Seems a complete nonsense, and it is anightmare of a journey for some Hull supporters who live further south. Just shows OB in this country still has view that all football supporters are criminal until proven otherwise, despite all the evidence to the contrary. The bubble is ridiculous, although if it could be improved for fierce rivalries such as Saints and Skates it may have some worth, but Hull v Huddersfield, plain stupid.
  21. No. They were 7 points adrift before today and still are - 7 points adrift of safety that is.
  22. Le Fondre hat-trick?
  23. Shame, it just means that the points deduction will have absolutely no effect (again). Rather they got enough points to stay up and then were relegated when the deduction was made. BY the way, thought it would be more than 10 points this time, but academic I guess.
  24. 11th is easily within reach, 3 points adrift is nothing, especially as we have to play most of the teams between us and 11th between now and the end of the season, beat them and the gap disappears even if we only match them in remaining fixtures. 10th may be a step too far, but in the end 6 points and Wet Sham are on a very poor run, even if they have not dropped (m)any places. I would predict though that we might end up 13th or 14th, which would be a reasonable finishing position in our first season back in the PL.
  25. I guess it would depend where you are flying to.
