  1. Unfortunately you can blame Guly for their goal today, fairly and squarely. He was given the job on the back post (which is strange for a tall fella, you would expect him to be given a marking job but I guess this reflects his lack of heading ability). From the position he was in it was a 50/50 but he clearly bottled it. Was another of his poor games today though, he seems to go through these phases, can be brilliant for a spell and then goes awol for a few games. Inconsistent, but on his day a great asset. If we had had a real option today I suspect NA would have replaced him before the Skate goal.
  2. Was at the game today, so presumably must have been considered ready for the bench (usually take 19 and reduce down to 16 on the day I believe). Don't recall seeing Chappers though he looks OK in training.
  3. Be very surprised if it wasn't the top priority. It was in the summer (along with a CB), although ultimately we did not buy and remains so now. Still think we also need another CB since its clear Jaidi and Seaborne won't feature much if at all this season. Yes a RW would be good as well.
  4. Its you and your ilk that need to get a grip, shown yourself to be one of what I was referring to as well. Mongs don't just reside in Pompey. Sick bastards. Fatality on the line does not necessarily mean what you are probably thinking. Try to imagine losing one of your loved ones a week before Christmas. Then again you probably don't have any. I sincerely hope the OP got to the game, shame that their heartfelt, well meant appeal brought some of the lowlife out of their hovels.
  5. Flares are so 70s
  6. We have some sick mongs on this board.
  7. Nothing lucky about it. We are top because we were so much better than everyone else (so far ahead) that even a mini slump (4 points from 4) has not allowed others to overtake. But we do need to get back to regular winning ways, preferably tomorrow.
  8. Boro's home form is very poor (although they draw most of their games W4 D6 L1), their away record is excellent. Cardiff's away record is average (W3).
  9. One of the 3 over-age players will almost certainly be a goal keeper. Its virtually standard practice to have experience between the sticks.
  10. Think they are getting mixed up with a previous incumbent (or perhaps more than one). Referring to NC as a comical buffoon would indicate the rest of the article might also be nonsense. Perhaps I should read it to find out.
  11. I suppose Cork might be considered, but would need to shine in 2nd half of season. Are France participating? If so Spiderman may be involved. Both have represented their country at every level so far except full international, and are both 22 (I assume the u23 rule is at the start of this season).
  12. Thats a terrible slur on NA. You do know that he played over 240 times for football league clubs (Wigan and Tranmere). TF has 4 league appaearances to his name so far. NA may not have been Premier League but to write off his playing career like this is scandalous.
  13. But the tree epitomises the New Forest which is within the County of Southampton. If we were called Southampton City you might have a point, but we are not (thank God). Hampshire is a relatively modern rename of the proper name for the County. Sometimes wish it was still called the County of Southampton, it would really **** the Skates off to have Southampton as part of their address.
  14. Sadly not, Kings Lynn were wound up in 2009 and the reformed Kings Lynn Town now play in the United Counties League. Surprised Glenda never mentioned that to you.
  15. If he is standing still then it probably is Jonno Quick.
  16. Always had him down as a Gooner
  17. Sorry, I've been a supporter of Bart over the years and know he is far far better than he was on Saturday. If you think that was all that was wrong then you really didn't watch the game closely. Watching the shot hit the post rooted to where he stood. Kicking was woeful (especially in 1st half), dithering about what to do with the ball several times, lack of authority in the area, decidedly dodgy on back passes, so much that in the end the defenders did evrything possible to avoid them. He was just a bundle of nerves. I put it down to the late decision about KD, and also my conspiracy theory that Skates swapped him a with a body double who had never seen a football before. I have never ever seen such an embarrassing display, don't care how you wrap it up and gloss over it. But for all that he is actually a top notch keeper and wouldb't expect us to get rid. Having a backup on the bench would also have helped his confidence (unless that backup had been Tommy Fourpast of course). I do hope that Dovey is recalled from his loan if there iss any chance that KD won't be ready for Sunday. I wouldn't expect Dovey to play but at least be a mate for Bart in the Goal Keeper's union.
  18. Ignoring ones already mentioned, Dave Peach, Steve Williams & Ossie. Special mention also for Eric Martin.
  19. The needs have not really changed from the summer, a striker and a CB. They were our targets then which did not come off, and we still need to strengthen in these 2 areas. Jos is very good, but did not address the initial problem because Seaborne was badly injured. Despite having 5 CBs on our books we really only have 3 to select from, which is not enough. For strikers we do need something else despite again having probably 5 strikers on the books (including Guly & SDR). If I were NA I might be looking for another wide midfield, but I don't think this is priority. On yesterdays performance we should also be looking for a new keeper, but frankly we all know Bart is better than that, I am convinced that some Skate bastards kidnapped Bart and replaced him with a look-alike yesterday who had never played in goal before. Unless Kelvin is out long term which I understand is not the case, then we should recall Dovey and stick with what we have.
  20. When you criticise someone you need to be quite sure that what you are saying is not equally stupid. Goal difference has not been the way "since the beginning of Association Football". Indeed it is a fairly recent change to the FL rules. The primary tie breaker was for most of the FL history goal average (goals for divided by goals against) introduced in 1976/77 following the first experiment in the 1974 World Cup. Goal average often (but not always) favoured teams with good defensive records over attacking teams, whereas Goal Difference should favour attacking football.
  21. Seasonal part-time jobs to supplement their miserable wages
  22. Not everyone from the Isle of Wight hates the Skates, but as he comes from Cowes he probably does.
  23. Will come into its own when we have extra tier of seating on 3 sides of the ground and sunlight is more restricted than now :-) I look forward to the SaintsPlayer report on the new quick drying paint. It should be even less exciting. Think Andy Gray was actually a touch embarrassed that he was being interviewed about a new lighting rig. Wonder if it can double up for concerts.
  24. Jos never played in a Glasgow derby. He only played for Celtic 8 times in total. Hamilton & Kilmarnock in 2009/10, Aberdeen, Inverness CT (twice), St Mirren & Hearts (2010/11) & Braga (home and away) in the Chumps League (he may have also played against Utrecht). Can't see that playing Caly Thistle is much of a comparison with the Skates (except that Thistle are better).
  25. Anyone have the pin code for his answering machine?
