  1. Doesn't seem to be much hope of Lee being involved on Monday, at least from what the OS says. It suggests Yago might be involved but no mention of Tadanari, so looks like he won't be back for a while yet. Odd really.
  2. Hopefully not as lazy as raziac.
  3. Brum are the biggest threat. Now they are out of the European Noddy Cup they are focused on the League, and will only be 7 points off if they win their game in hand. Cardiff and Boro will blow it (maybe Boro have already burst, were always going to struggle with their inability to score, signing LJ will not materially improve this IMHO).
  4. Oh dear, if you are going to have a slanging match with someone at least don't make yourself look a tit. You do know that Scott McDonald is Australian and used to play for Saints, you do, don't you?
  5. The 3rd all-time top scorer also went to Boro, but couldn't even get in our team before he went north of the border. You are living on past glories, Celtic and Rangers will never compete at the top level in Europe again unless they join the PL (thats the Premier League not the spl).
  6. Lennon's 35 mill is being taken out of context, it was just an off the cuff remark, it is not a valuation by the Club. The factors that may bring Hooper to Saints have little or nothing to do with the SPL or Celtic. More likely he is interested in the move because of (a) his past association with Adkins and (b) the chance next season to play in the PL and perhaps further his possible international career. Playing in Europe for Celtic is not guaranteed and even if they do qualify, they have little hope of being successful, Celtic won the European Cup in 1967, the chance of that ever happening again is about as likely as me playing up front alongside RL (or GH). Maybe Jos and Barney have been having a few words with their old team mate as well, although in Barney's case it would seem that Hoopers arrival would mean the departure of Barnard.
  7. Played 33 minutes yesterday, didn't score, obviously would have been a waste of money, not good enough for us
  8. Based on average attendance, they are 12th in Europe, 3rd in UK (behind Manure and Arse). 48968 last season. To put this in perspective our average home attendance so far this season would have put us 59th in Europe last season.
  9. Good to see the Celtic shirts at the exit of the tunnel before the game, must mean Hooper is on his way
  10. I'm gonna say something controversial here - c'mon you 10 Skate Bastards
  11. Dear Celtic, please ignore my last note, we still desparately need another striker now that Guly has torn his hamstring. Love, Southampton
  12. Given many thought Harding was MotM last week when he played RB, your reaction seems a bit OTT.
  13. No, its Aaron Ward-Baptiste. If OS has Ward-Prowse its a typo.
  14. Its Aaron Ward-Baptiste (not Prowse)
  15. Different because Ox's old man is a Skate bastard. If Shaw's old man is also a skate we may be fecked.
  16. The contradiction is that SFC OS says he signed a 3 year pro contract. As he isn't actualy 17 yet this is technically incorrect. If he has signed a pre-contract then it is not a contract. In law you cannot sign a contract before you reach the age of majority anyway.
  17. Something contradictory there, since players cannot sign full professional contracts until they are 17. Luke is 17 in July. We seem to have a knack of developing LBs.
  18. Surely Glenda has filled you in on all the details by now. What's that, Glenda didn't know. Oh my God!! Will this affect your prediction of 17th place finish? If so do you think we can now look for 16th possibly (lower mid table), or do you think we are more likely to be finish below 17th?
  19. I don't know, maybe it suited the club, after all if he had played maybe we would have lost out on his (over the odds) transfer fee. Not trying to deny the word strike was used, but I just wonder whether if SFC had pushed him he would have played. There was a lot of **** going on at the time, and I'm not sure what I believe from Burley or Lowe. All I know is that I would not hold it against KJ if he were to come back and put in a few shifts, because frnakly he was a great player and if he could bring some of that back to help us I for one would be very pleased. I'm not one for holding a grudge for the sake of it.
  20. The Carpathia arrived in NY on the 18th, 3 days after the sinking. The collision occurred late on the 14th but the ship went down 3 hours later on the 15th, and this is the date that the deaths are officially recorded. I don't recall anyone saying the crew were all Saints fans, just that they were residents of Southampton, Hampshire and even the IW. Why do they have to be Saints fans to be remembered, they were relatives and friends of people who were neighbours, workmates and colleagues of Southampton folk. I know in this day and age that we live in a society where some people do not give a feck about their neighbours, but not everyone is of this view and there are still some normal people around. What is hacking me off on this thread is the bile and insensitivity of some of the remarks and attacks on Alpine. I don't see eye to eye with him (and currently have him on Ignore) but in cases such as this he is making a reasonable case and the subject does not warrant some of the crass remarks by some people on here who reply in the way they do because they want to attack someone persoanlly, and instead just make themselves look stupid.
  21. IIRC the plague predated 1885
  22. As long as we don't lose we will still be in the Top 2, and if our fishy friends could do us a favour we may even extend our lead. Neither Cardiff nor Boro have easy games. I am confident that we will not lose, but won't go any further than that.
  23. You really are some sort of sick bunny, weirdo
  24. Clearly unlikely, but I would have him back like a shot if the opportunity arose. Had the sense to get out before Burley was able to blight his career in 2007, asked for a transfer, the "strike" was just talk, Burley would probably have played him in goal anyway. We got good money for the bloke (probably far better than was reasonable) and he is probably just the type of striker we could do with. 3 or 4 goals and all the forum warriors would eat their words. Will it happen? Will it feck.
