  1. Agreed, they should tell us everything on April 1st.
  2. Sorry but that is just wrong. Sharp was offise about 7 or 8 times, once.or.twice the decision was wrong. Guly got caught offside once, maybe twice. We used to moan about Bwpp but Sharp's positional sense today was appalling, I really don't recall the last time.I saw anyone.play so badly for us. I really hope Chung is back soon up fro.t with Lambert.
  3. We need to hope Lambert AND Lee are back next week, Connors as well would be a bonus. Without L&L we have a bit of a problem, because Billy is not going to do it for us.
  4. Absolutely fecking rubbish. No-one was good but Sharp was a disgrace, did nothing and offside so many times (even if at least one was completely wrong). I don't like having a pop at individuals, but he doesn't even look League 2 standard. Once he missed the pen, we may as well have taken him off, maybe too used tolosing at Donny, head down, don't like that attitude. We need to hope that Lambert and Lee are available next week, or at least Lambert and Connors.
  5. OMG, got semething in common with TDD, new Alfa Giulietta today, but not an 08 plate, try a 12 (or whatever it would be if I didn't have my own plate). Also gone back to a dirty diesel, now if only I could find a garage that has some diesel for sale.
  6. All totally irrelevant. As far as I recall Lowe never had to turn the club around in the 3rd division. Totally different situations. Lowe was a disaster, end of.
  7. Usually suggests a fit team. Remember we used to be like that under WGS. But we are also a very fit team (Saints fit) and may not give them the opportunities that poorer teams (Bristol & Coventry) do, Palace also seem to run out of steam sometimes.
  8. Certainly hope so, please don't ever associate that bunch of ******s with Saints.
  9. The thing I like about Nicola is that everyone seems able to spell his name correctly. Sadly with the other guy this seems to be a problem. Why can't people get Markus' name right when they get Nicola's right, I don't recall anyone calling him Nikola.
  10. Just out of interest who were the last players we sold to United and City? I am guessing Wallace and Baker (or maybe Channon) respectively. I am sure I am missing someone more recently (did Mark Wright go to City?), but don't think either sniff around too much. Arsenal (Oxo and Walcott, who before that Steve Williams?) and Spuds (Bale) OK, fair enough recently. I guess we sold Beatts to Everton and Kenwyne went to Sunderland. Villa?
  11. Morgan, f'sure
  12. Though a bit disresectful to Aldershot :-)
  13. You're right, I went to the Derby game and we definitely sang about Pompey then.
  14. Unless Big Ron is added I would prefer to see no other changes. It is already poor in my opinion that Ron Davies is not in the line-up of legends. He should have been one of the first three chosen (Channon, Tiss and Davies). I think the thing is though, they are not really meant to be the biggest legends, they are meant to represent the different eras of Saints. As a person Kelvin is a top bloke, no doubt, but legendary status, not for me.
  15. I hope that if we loan players out that we loan them to anyone other than the Skates. Do we really want our young players to be part of that set up, and anyway chances are that they will be playing in the Wessex League next season, not League One.
  16. Why are we still trotting out the Saunders nonsense. There was nothing in his reaction that was any different to any other manager after they lost. he was having a joke about Sharp. I don't like Saunders but to get wound up like a few people have about some completely inocuous, run of the mill losing manager comments is frankly a bit silly.
  17. Sorry, but you are the one who is delusional. Of course it's a trophy, historically one of the most revered in the world (after the FA Cup and probably the Jules Rimet). Below is what the trophy looks like (assume its not exactly the same one that has been played for since 1888 but not 100% sure of that). We have only ever won 3 proper trophies in our history, and only then if you count the JPT and the 3rd Division, yet some numpties don't consider the Football League Championship as worth winning. I blame it on Sky, and their pretence that football did not exist before the Premier League. Like the players and the management, thank the Lord, we want to win the Championship, being best loser is not good enough and will leave a sour taste just like losing did last year. We
  18. Interesting, we have hardly heard from NC all season. It would actually be good to hear from him now and again, he seems to have taken much more of a back seat since we were promoted last season.
  19. Yet another example of the stupidity of some football owners (thankfully not ours), replace the manager that they put faith in with only a few games to go before the end of the season while clearly stating that they will not replace him before the end of the season. Not saying they should have kept him, but to not bring in a replacement for the last few matches to let them take a look at the squad is just plain stupidity. But there you go, what do you expect from a knobhead like Mitchell.
  20. Not true. He tied up Butterfield for most of the game (hence some people's incorrect opinion of Butterfield's performance), and was extremely clever, some really good touches. Unfortunately (for him) he is in a team where the other players are no match for him, and so his talent is completely wasted. He is also a nasty piece of work, but credit to him he displayed that at least he had a sense of humour in the first half, his response to the boos in the Itchen/Chapel corner was to blow us all a nice kiss. He was actually less niggly than Gillet, who really has become a bit of a nasty little **** (Paul Scholes without the talent).
  21. Butterfield was not crap yesterday, in fact he did his primary job (that is defending) very well. Keeping Diouf relatively quiet took some work because although he is a loathsome individual Diouf is still a very talented player. As a result Danny could not get forward as often as we would probably have liked. My only criticism of him yesterday was that a couple of his crosses were poor, more floated than driven in, and as a result too near the keeper. Still overall he had a good game especially considering his lack of action this year.
  22. It was the case, happened just in front of me. Technically the referee had no choice, but sometimes these rules are completely stupid. Why would we appeal (I don't believe we can anyway)? A booking at this stage of the season is not really a problem, will be difficult to pick upanother 9 before end of season. It was only going to become an issue when Billy started to get tangled up with Chimbomba, and NA had to intervene to stop him getting a 2nd booking. Can't believe that Chimbomba was wearing gloves yesterday, they were not even off with his apparent good friend Sharp (according to Sharp himself).
  23. This. Pretty clear to me that this is the best result for us, and of course we should be aiming to be Champions. I really hate these posts that say being Champions doesn't matter its getting promoted thats important. ******, its being Champions thats important, especially of the Football League (maybe it wasn't quite so important last year). We enter competitions to WIN, not be a loser. Thankfully our players and manager don't take the namby-pamby attitiude of some supporters here who seem to think like Sky that the prize is being in the Premier League. The prize this season is WINNING THE CHAMPIONSHIP. No-one cares who comes second. The result of winning the prize is that we get promoted. Make the most of it, because its likely to be a long long time before we get the chance to win another league trophy. Fed up with being second best, I want our team to win something and show what we all know, that we are the best team in the league.
  24. This. Seems fairly standard response from losing manager to me, especially when a player scores against his old team. I would have said something similar if Gillett had scored for them yesterday.
