I thought it fell through because Lowe thought Drogba had an attitude problem. Still we had Brett Ormerod so no worries.

What about them? [i have no idea what he said and wouldn't change my opinion even if I did]
-
Actually the one thing they don't need to do is to dump Claridge. Its the other bloke that is the problem, knows nothing about football and is a real thrush. Claridge is actually very good, trouble is some on here are blinkered and can't see past his Skate connections, shame really because he is nearly always very complimentary about Saints.

May Day!! May Day!! (Perhaps you meant 3 months and 3 days)

Quite right, why would the Sun make things up when they can easily hack into people's phones and answering machines and get accurate information?

No ****, Shurlock

Looks like they have just missed him out, he shows up on other top scorers lists with 9. Correction, they have only credited him with 5 goals!! Why are all of our players so formally named, Richard Lambert, Guilherme do Prado, Daniel Fox? I assume Sharp will become William when he signs for us.

About as likely as signing the double European Footballer of the Year. To be honest I've never heard of him

As always we should play to win the game. Winning breeds confidence. OK, make a small number of changes to rest some key players/give fringe players a run, but we should not be far short of our strongest team. Having a weekend off never seems to have the positive effect some folks expect, we usually look lethargic when we have not played. Most players prefer to play week in week out. The one thing we could do without would be a replay. Just a shame that the game is not exactly exciting (sorry Coventry).

This is why we are top of the league, we are very good, and the rest of the pack are utter dross. Nothing to fear from anyone, today has been a good day, 3 horse race now with Cardiff and Hull getting beat and Brum now so far behind even with games in hand. We've had a little blip and still are 3 points clear, 8 points clear of 4th and 12 points clear of 7th place.

Looks like we won't drop out of the top 2 this year then

Love to know what you think are difficult games. Apart from Birmingham (away) there is nothing in Jan/Feb that should really cause us any real concern. West Ham are average at home, better away, Leicester and Cardiff at our place (won 5 away games between them), Forest away (3 home wins), Burnley at home (OK, Clarets have a decent away record), Derby at home (3 wins) and Watford away (4 wins out of 12). Just leaves Brighton away, and they have not even won half of their home games this season. Actually a pretty good set of fixtures, apart maybe from Brum who are unbeaten in their 9 home games. I know it can look reasonable when we are top of the league, but really we should have nothing to fear playing anyone.

Did anyone else spend absolutely ages applying Letraset transfer numbers to the backs of players shirts (1-11 of course)? So fiddly, but made the individual players more, well individual. I had a Celtic team and that was even worse, trying to apply the numbers to their shorts. In hindsight, thank goodness it was before the days of players names on shirts.

Pah! Bloody kids. Subbuteo was just updated Newfooty. Actually me and my mates spent days with Subbuteo, local league. Trouble was one damn kid always cheated, not using the regulation flick. Still have Saints somewhere in a box, even though some players have lots of Airfix glue round their ankles!!!

Odd really, he really has.not been that good.this seaon very often. This seems.to be.largely based on how.good.he was last. He clearly now has a reputation. I expect he will be class from now on in.

No coincidence, Sharp will leave but not to join Saints. I thought it was a done deal with the Tractor Boys but seems someone else has trumped them, guessing Leicester or Sunderland.

I noted in his quotes that he said that his Dad is a Saints fan. He used to say he was and wanted to end his career here, seems to have changed his tune now, no evidence of him still being interested in Saints other than for the sake of upsetting his old man. My old man supported the Skates, I had other ideas.

Can't see how he has shown anything in the Prem, played a few decent games for a relegated team, and done nothing with Rangers and clearly isn't needed by mid-table (at best) team. Could be the worst thing to have around our dressing room, and NA has stated quite categorically that he will not play for us again. Can't see how anyone can come to a conclusion that he is a decent bloke based on Twitter, comes over as a complete knobhead if you ask me, but then most people come over as knobheads on Twitter. It really is just about the lowest form of communication these days, even teenager grunts are more expressive and intelligent.

You can't just ship players out, they have contracts, and didn't plan to get injured. You can pay them off, but what's the point? Jaidi and DC are contracted to the end of the season, for sure Jaidi's contract will not be renewed, but maybe DC's will (if he plays a good number of remaining games). As for shipping out Chaplow I do hope you are joking, but suspect you aren't.

Great idea, who needs Lallana.
-
Mancini claims he plays golf on matchdays. Must be completely daft.

Very much doubt that we would let him go, he seems to fit in perfectly with our ethos, comfortable on the ball, playing out from defence. I also liked to read that he was cosnidered "level headed", again sounds like the sort of player we are developing now. He should have already made his debut for us, he was really due a runout against Swindon in the League Cup but was thwarted by the fact that we struggled to beat a L2 outfit that night. Would probably be good for his development to leave him with Uwe for the rest of the season and assess his prospects then (will be much more difficult for him to break through in the PL).

Bloody hell, so one legged people pay less, Jake the Peg needs to beware.
