  1. Only if the game has been moved to Wednesday. Japan v Uzbekistanis on WEdnesday 29th Feb. Whether he will be fit to play after a long flight back from Tokyo on Thursday is another question, but there is no reason for him not to be available other than jet lag (barring injury).
  2. Made I laugh...
  3. Why? Japan play Uzbekistan on Wednesday. He can be back for Saturday. Also not sure what Lee and Lambert's availability have to do with Falque who is a midfielder. If Lallana is out then I guess he could be a better option than Puncheon on the left. Anyway I thought he was injured, or at least has been. He did look lightweight when he made his debut, got knocked off the ball to easily, but clearly has great skill.
  4. More interested in what we do, if Pompey go down so be it, we are going up so why should I care, we won't be playing them again for a while in the league. Wish people would stop fixating with a tin-pot team down the road, we have bigger fish to fry.
  5. How many teams scored thwee?
  6. No 0-0 is perfect, Skates bttom and Leeds dropping away.
  7. What took him so long, should have done it straight after take-off?
  8. Point is that if both Jos and Jose were injured we would then use the emergency loan system. While the loan window is open there is no need to get anyone in unless they are needed. Thats why we didn't go any further with the guy from Stoke (soory can't recall his name, Collins?). Jaidi is supposedly ready if needed (in an emergency) hence why he was given a game against Reading Dev Squad the other day. i don't really like the emergency loan system, the who transfer thing is a dog's dinner because of UEFA, but then again we have made good use of it ourselves in the past, not just for Jos, but also Richard Wright a couple of years ago.
  9. The bells, the bells...
  10. Why do I need to show you? Do you want me to bring Billy round to your house so that you can feel his love handles or something? Try looking at him when he is on the pitch. Its blindingly obvious. Anyway like I said, not being too critical of him, he's been through a lot recently, has been coached at a poor club and Crosby will get that put right I am sure. Its a bit like some of our players were when Burley was in charge, unfit and overweight. As for Lee, its my opinion, based on watching him play, and seeing what he can do that he will be fine in the Premiership (where he will probably get more time and space). I guess you are expecting him to be as good as Rooney or something. I'm certainly not. But will he be as good as players at 60% of the Prem League clubs, yes he will I believe, because outside of the top 6 clubs and except for a handful at each other club the standard in the PL is really not much different to the top 6 of the NPC. We'll see, the game is about opinions and my opinion is basically along the same lines as our manager who clearly thinks he is a great prospect for the Premier League. Whereas you think he won't be any good and will be sold on. Would seem very odd if NA sells him after waxing lyrical.
  11. Oh come on, its not difficult to see that Billy is overweight. But that can be worked on, he is clearly not fully fit, but Crosby will resolve that I am sure, but don't try and deny is he a little fat boy at the moment.
  12. Was never running around like a headless chicken, he was actually making some very decent runs and getting into great positions, also taking defenders with him. His skills are also very good, I really like his clever use of his chest not just to control the ball but turning the ball into a space for a team-mate to latch onto (I've seen him do this at least 3 times now, its a very deliberate play by him and team mates are beginning to read this and understand what he is doing). Maybe Lee is not the next Messi (thats Lallana) but once he gets used to the increased physicality in the NPC he will be just fine, there is no way Saints have brought him in to get rid when we get promoted, Lee is long-term and he will be OK in the Prem League based on my view of his play so far. Think he is actually more likely to succeed in the Prem than Sharpe.
  13. Reading are far more serious challengers than either of these.
  14. How about we ignore them completely and sing songs about other clubs, or even about Saints. Pretend they don't exist, or maybe not even pretend.
  15. and Coventry
  16. Not almost at all. You didn't read all of my post, Lambert's 2nd was against Millwall in the FA Cup replay a couple of weeks back. I saw the 1st away to Swindon but not the one against Millwall, only home game missed so far this year.
  17. West Ham, Brighton and Leeds please, oh and the Skates to be liquidated. OK, unlikely I know, but I can dream. Oh and ******** to all this sentiment for Forest, because they were "a proper team" and all that bull****, they were our bogey team in the 70s/80s and I hated them then, nothing I would like more than to see them out of the way for a bit longer. Derby too, don't like them much either. Millwall too. NOt keen on Cardiff either. Tell you what how about we relegate about 12 teams this season :-) Doesn't matter anyway cos we won't be playing any of them next season (except West Ham I suppose)
  18. So it should be, surely no one in their right mind actually pays to see James Blunt do they?
  19. Can't see why he would get into the TOTD, but he wasn't as bad as some on here are trying to make out. I was at the game yesterday and in the first half his left footed inswinging crosses from deep put their dodgy keeper under pressure on several occassions and nearly resulted in goals, if someone had been on hand to follow up for a tap-in. He was also badly clattered and was down for a longish time which probably didn't help. He was given some awfu passes mainly by Chaplow as well. Tyson gave him a bit of a run around early on but once he was out of the picture Harding was comfortable. There was one mix-up with Fonte in the 1st half which was down to bad communication, and as mcuh Fonte's fault as Harding's. Sadly some people on here do have a bit of an agenda when it comes to Harding, in the end NA would still prefer his professionalism and experience to that of the backup right backs we have in tne squad.
  20. Forte, Lambert (2), Chaplow, Lallana, Schneiderlin, De Ridder (3), Holmes and Connolly have all scored for Saints this season after coming on as subs in various games before yesterday. Odd that apart from Lambert's goal against Millwall the last goa scored by a sub was against Coverntry at the start of November.
  21. Do you get closets in caravans? I have no problem with Claridge, is very fair to Southampton, and often complimentary. Would rather listen to him any day than the muppets who are usually on MotD. He is at least a genuine footballer who carried on playing as long as he could because he loved it rather than for the money and taking the easy way out and retiring "early" to become a pundit like the Slug Balancer and Hanson.
  22. Actually he did a lot more than that, linking up several times on the left with Lallana and Fox. He wasn't great but he certainly deserved more than a 4, maybe 6. Was much better than Chaplow, who couldn't do a thing right in the first half, and quite frankly apart from his energy was appalling. Better in the 2nd half before being replaced, but has some way to go before he is back to where he was before his injury. Still its a measure of how good we were yesterday that we can give Chaplow game time to get back to match fitness and even though he was poor we still bossed the midfield.
  23. Any chance we could get his name right? His name is Chung, not Chun. Not difficult.
  24. Chung, brilliant, long time since i've seen as good a goal at sms. Love his attitude, think we have a new star in the making. Lallana back to his best. Jos awesome. Morgan absolutely ran things in mf. Sharp was anything but, good tactical switch to bring on Chung. Only downside for me was Chaplow in 1st half, looked very rusty, touch awful, but he will get back to his best no doubt. Question now is, who is backup keeper, clearly not Frazer. I reckon its Chung.
  25. Actually you weren't the only one that thought this, it occurred to me as well. I thought that not only would it be a nice gesture but boy would it **** the skates off. Still now they are in Admin they should be able to pay for it themselves.
