Not if its freezing cold, thats lager and is for girls. Man up and get a proper pint of warm flat beer.

Surely we have already planned for a replacement, his name is Bart. Apart from one nightmare match, he is what is needed and is here as future replacement for KD. Why would we need to take Lewis if he flaps and parries too much, sounds too much like Kelvin on his off days.

Got to feel sorry for the ones on the lower deck of that bus.
-
I know he's back in the squad but he's hardly the answer to life, the universe and everything.
-
One for the Rosie47 I guess. I think we should call our new player Rosie.

CB should have been at least equal top priority with striker from the start. Hooiveld is really only a replacement for Seaborne, we needed another CB before Seaborne was hurt. WE still need one now as this week has illustrated, fit CBs, Aaron Martin and ..... The Number 5 shirt is still vacant, that tells me that a new CB is still expected.

Do we need a stopper? We already have a Cork.

Good news. I' mot his greatest fan, but it takes something to admit mistakes like he has (especially with the financial penalties that go with it). I hope supporters give him a break, and no booing is justified. No need to have a love-in with him, but let him do the business on the pitch and then give him some positive feedback from the stands. We all know he is quite capable at this level, not sure yet about the next level, but if NA/NC have welcomed him back thats good enough for me.

I heard it is actually a Honda, made in Swindon, and is currently alongside the M3 waiting for the Breakdown Recovery service to arrive.

I did? Must be getting old.

Still, good to see that all of those who decided that the delay was because it takes weeks and weeks to organise a move from Japan to the UK were wrong for a professional footballer. It clearly is a piece of **** like most people realised. But I was one that suggested that possibly something was not right because of the delay and lack of information, happy to be proved wrong.

A good advert for why people really no longer use this forum.

Archers. Never ever watched from the West Stand. Started off in the Milton Road, then to the Milton/East corner but finally settled for the Archers. Don't really have a "home" at SMS, sitting in Itchen/Chapel corner for rest of season, but prefer Itchen/Northam corner. Sadly SMS really doesn't have any special atmosphere in any section, indictment of modern identikit stadia.

Actually Connolly and Guly both had half decent games last night, specially 2nd half (difficult for me to see much of what they were doing 1st half, wrong end of the pitch). No decent support from midfield, but both were working tirelessly to make things happen. They are not great as a pair though to be fair. Some of the things Connolly was doing in the 2nd half were high class, but no-one else on the pitch was quick enough or alert enough to take advantage, AL and RL are very much on the same wavelength as Connolly and so it works better when the three of them (or even two of them) are together. Granted Connolly scuffed one decent chance he had, which is not good, but you cannot fault him getting into good positions or for his workrate. I heard someone text into Solent saying he was gash, maybe it was the OP. Anyone who thinks he is gash really doesn't have a clue. He was a mildly bright spot in an otherwise totally crap performance.
-
Was always a priority in my view, youd need to be a bit daft not to realise this before tonite, Jos' injury just clearly demonstrated why.
-
Pretty sure Adkins said next week on Solent. Suppose as long as its before Tuesday thats OK

Looks more like Fiorentina or Liverpool are after hime. Arsenal turned him down a couple of years back. Shame, looks a good player. Wonder if he is left or right footed, cannot find that out anywhere. Is connected with Jacob Friis Hansen, isn't he the guy that was going to be our European Scout but never actually took up the post, or perhaps I am getting confused. We do still need a left sided CB, anything happens to Jos and we are screwed. Seems to be getting forgotten with all the strikers in the world being linked.

Best bit of business Southampton have ever done
VectisSaint replied to Crazy Diamond's topic in The Saints
Getting £125,000 for Martin Chivers was a good bit of business (British record transfer fee at the time), we had Channon and Davies, and Chivers was never really the same again apart from a couple of seasons 71-73. Was even better that the money came form the Spuds. Very disappointed when it happened, but never really missed him in hindsight. On top of that we got Frank Saul as part of the deal (oh!). More recently getting what we did for Kenwyne was not a bad piece of business especially as he didn't want to play for us. -
Have to agree with you Alpine. Some people here are quoting how long it takes to emigrate from the UK to countries such as US, South Africa and so on. Totally irrelevant IMHO, and some of them are so bureaucratic that it is true, it can take a long time to get sorted (though I never had any trouble getting into either personally, it was all arranged in a couple of days or so, admittedly now 10+ years ago in both cases). Getting into the UK is about as simple as it can be. After all most of the country is continually moaning about how simple it is for migrants to enter the country. Well it is even easier if you have all the relevant paper work (work permit) already in hand and on top of that you are a professional sportsman. I have no idea whether this deal has gone wrong or not, but just feel something is not right, there is no need for such a delay. I'm not talking about whether he is available to play tomorrow or not, that's irrelevant, he probably would not be ready anyway. I do hope to see T Lee here very soon, and I think he will be a good addition, but just detect a faint whiff of rat somewhere.

Try looking at the first 3 posts on this thread. If you don't think that would get you the sack, try it yourself (of course whether your boss would read what you had written on Twitter is a moot point). I would guess that NC has more sense and better things to do than to read Twitter, but I suspect it will be brought to his attention at some point. Sadly professional footballers have more protection than your average worker.

If an offer comes in from West Ham, Cardiff or Birmingham snap it up immediately. Let them have the disruptive little arsehole around their camp, and see the damage it does. JP is not a player anyone should fear, he has not played more than a handful of decent games in the last 2 years, flatters to deceive even when he does play. I hate players like him, they are all that is wrong with professional football these days. Still a fine of 2 weeks wages for each tweet (or **** or whatever that scumbag social networking site is called) will help to reduce our loss.
-
Wasn't it last week? Already sorted anyway, we have already played all of the botom 3 away and beaten 2 of them. We've also played 2 more of the bottom 6 away, only Millwall of the bottom 6 still to play away, and we've got them next week in the Cup. So, by your reckoning we are home and hosed.
-
That would have been when they were still playing in the Europa Noddy Cup. Basing your views on one game is very dangerous. Apparently they are playing poorly, so poorly that they have scored 9 in 2. They are on a good run, and currently have the squad to maintain it. They are clearly not the worst side in the division, at the moment they are probably the 2nd best (behind us).
-
And it wouldn't do us much good either. Brum are a bigger threat than Cardiff imho, unless a few of their players go in the next 10 days (which I doubt).
