  1. So as i said, back to Les Reed "Philosophy A", the one he believed in and promoted until he came up with "Philosophy B" a few weeks later by sending young players out on loan (Turnbull and Stephens if I remember correctly). The idea makes total sense, as it did before, but comes unstuck when the manager leaves and his replacement does not have the same view on the future (Poch to Ronald) and implements a different style of play at which point all the young players have been trained and focused on a methodology that no longer exists in their pathway, and they are fooked. Hopefuly Ralph will be with us a long time and will see the fruits of this change.
  2. Its not just the virus, that was only the latest in a line of views on various topics, such as Brexit, in which he has seemingly become more and more unhinged. He even got off twitter for a while because of the effects his covid views were having, only to return and within days post the Anne Frank item. He says himself he didn't think it would cause so much uproar, the truth is he didn't think, full stop. He started off on twitter with views that were rather off the wall about Liverpool and VAR, and people accepted his reactions and views because he was an ex-footballer who legitimately had views on footballing matters, but when he started to branch off into politics and science it became rather more obvious that he was heavily influenced by conspiracy theorists, and the more he digs himself into these views, without really having the evidence to support what he is saying the more controversial and liable to ridicule he becomes. He needs to step back, get off twitter and stop trying to build himself up as an influencer. He was a great footballer and sportsman, but he is finding it difficult to find a role in later life like many do.
  3. Gaston is still playing, I think even Tadanari Lee is still playing (looks like he has finally dropped to J2). Dani Osvaldo resumed playing (signed a 1 year deal for Banfield in January after a 4 year sabbatical).
  4. BWP was cleared of all charges. Dyer on the other hand was found guilty.
  5. Ignore the first picture, don't seem to be able to delete, but his Instagram account has pic in a Saints shirt, albeit with LD logo. Or is it photoshopped?
  6. More to the point, what's the betting Fulham get relegated. Must be the hottest favourites to go down next season.
  7. His kicking is far better than Forster's though, FF has difficulty keeping his kicks inside the confines of the pitch.
  8. Apart from that Salisu is left side (left footed) so is more likely to replace or be backup for Bednarek/Vestegaard, although Bednarek is probably better on the right side. Unless Bednarek is off (which was a rumour a while back) think that Salisu will be backup. Also can't see Boufal as replacement for Redmond, backup at best when we are desparate. Djenepo not sure.
  9. Tommy Forecast - impersonating a goalkeeper
  10. Just means there are none from Saints in the latest round of testing, not that there wasn't one in one of the previous rounds.
  11. Amazes me they sacked those three but kept Merse.
  12. They've been front of shirt sponsors for Watford for a year and are still sponsoring them for the coming two seasons. I guess that shows how much sponsorship works if people haven't even heard of them. The crypto currency thing means they aren't even a proper real gambling company, though they may be part owned by BetFred, depends if the Aussie company with the same name is part of the same organisation. https://news.bitcoin.com/pr-sportsbet-io-watford-fc-drive-bitcoin-awareness/
  13. Kids = u18s, not many 18 year olds will get a child's shirt on. Gambling is banned for ui18s, should be banned on shirts and other advertising too.
  14. Have they ditched Watford? Appreciate Saints had to do something, but really hope its only for a season. Hopefully ban on Betting company advertising will kick in soon. Really not acceptable to have betting companies on shirts that will be bought for kids.
  15. That's not a link to anything claiming to be Spurs, its an article written by A 22 y/o football nerd seeking my way into football writing. I love Irish football and also the Premier League. A huge Arsenal fan! Aside from writing, I like to spend my time fishing and drinking beer." The link to the story itself is (was) a broken link, I wonder why it no longer exists.: https://soccerlink.fr/2020/08/22/championnats/premier-league/le-chantier-estival-de-tottenham-4725.html
  16. Think Smallbone is in Ralph's plans, looked decent post lockdown. Slattery not sure.
  17. Jose was in his bedroom, no books to be seen. The only books I noticed on Levy's bookshelf were The Tanakh and a well thumbed copy of "Harry Redknapp The Biography"
  18. Of course not, Daniel Levy contacted me directly on a zoom call with Mourinho. But I had already read it on Google News feed. Sounded like bollocks to me, how anyone could plan a.mdfield comprising Hojbjerg AND Mckennie is beyond me, but I suppose it suits Jose's boring, defensive MF set ups.
  19. Spurs seem to think he is heading there to play alongside PEH. They seem quite excited by the prospect of Mckennie linking up with Hojbjerg in midfield.
  20. Seems like more than half of PL clubs have a similar problem. Shouldn't be too much of an issue as long as he didn't mix with other players before self isolating.
  21. He was also manager at Ajax, Benfica, PSV, Feyenoord, AZ and others. Assistant at Barca before he joined us. Wealth of managerial experience, not always hugely successful, but to even consider him relatively unproven is a joke, how much more experience do you expect. He was apparently close to getting the job earlier but didn't take it due to his health issues. Still not actually appointed despite the original post. I'm sure it will all end in tears but no one can seriously be surprised at this if they have any sense of history of that club.
  22. Should we start the process of commissioning a statue?
  23. In what way is Ronald unproven? Had quite a good spell at some south coast club in the PL. The reason he is chosen is because he is a Barca legend. Was always going to happen eventually. Much more obvious choice than Poch who always said he could not manage Barca (because of his Espanol connections).
  24. Correct, Barca v Real Madrid is not a derby in any way, shape or form, it is a rivalry. Real v Atletico is a derby, Barca v Espanol. Silly list anyway, no mention of Saints v Cherries, of course because of their rule against a team having more than one entry, otherwise massive derby. Likewise Newport v Cowes, they're having a laugh.
  25. Given they will be behind closed doors, I wouldn't expect any big announcements, just some low key friendlies that we might find out about after the event.
